Drake Bell and Josh Peck Reunite for the First Time Since 'Quiet on Set' Documentary: 'Completely Eye-Opening'

Drake Bell and Josh Peck starred together on the Nickelodeon show for four seasons

Drake Bell and Josh Peck, who starred together in hit Nickelodeon comedy series Drake & Josh, are reuniting for the first time since the documentary Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV premiered in spring 2024 on Investigation Discovery/Max to talk about their time on the show, their lives as child stardom and the bombshells the documentary revealed.

In a preview of the March 24 episode of Josh's Good Guys podcast shared by People, which he hosts alongside Ben Soffer, Josh and Bell opened up about their time working together on Drake & Josh and what it was like to be Nickelodeon child stars.

Drake and Josh and Ben (Part 1) | Josh Peck

Today, we’re sitting down with Drake Bell for the first time in nearly 20 years to have the conversation we never had. In Part 1, we revisit our time filming Drake & Josh, reflect on the laughs, the magic, and the darker moments that were never spoken aloud.

We talk about what it was like growing up on set, the complicated truth of our friendship, and how trauma, misunderstanding, and silence shaped the years that followed. Drake opens up about what he endured behind the scenes and how that experience impacted our relationship, the show, and his life.

We’re proud to share this episode with you. And stay tuned for Part 2.

Soffer, 32, and producer Olivia Meade spoke on the podcast about the “completely eye-opening” experience of watching Quiet on Set. Soffer said it “never at all clicked” that Josh and Bell, both 38, were also kids.

“You're not an adult, but you're being treated like an adult and you're with adults,” Soffer said. Meade added, “I can’t imagine losing those formative years, or giving such responsibility and pressure at that age when you are just beginning to figure out bits and pieces of who you are and how you interact with other people.”

Josh said it’s complicated because the show is beloved by fans who grew up watching it but was hard for him to go through. He explained, “You know what the show means to everyone. You know that the moments that were great were great, and we were incredibly lucky to get to do this thing that we loved.”

“But there's also the truth of everything you went through and everything that was an experience for a kid that was unacceptable in so many ways and you’ve got to wrestle with this,” he said. “I remember people would ask me about the show, and I would say, ‘Well, I lost a hundred pounds and had to get sober at 21. Did I seem happy?’ Like, it’s a bit of a sign."

Drake & Josh premiered in 2004 and ran for four seasons on Nickelodeon. Bell and Josh played stepbrothers (who shared the same first names as the actors playing them), with Miranda Cosgrove as Drake’s younger sister. Before the show, Josh and Bell also starred together on the network's The Amanda Show alongside Amanda Bynes.

In Quiet on Set, Bell talked about being sexually assaulted by Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck (no relation to Josh) when he was 15. Brian pleaded no contest to a charge of oral copulation with a minor under 16 and performing a lewd act with a 14- or 15-year-old in connection with the case. He was sentenced to 16 months in prison and was mandated to register as a sex offender. At the time, Bell was not revealed as his victim.

Speaking to People on March 17, Bell revealed that the documentary airing was “a really nice weight lifted.”

“It's a roller coaster of emotions,” he said. “I don't want to sugarcoat it and make the message, ‘Hey, all you got to do is just tell somebody and get your story out and when you wake up the next day, it's going to be gone and everything's going to be fine and you're going to walk through life without any pain or sorrow or sadness!’ It's always going to be there, but it's a lot nicer getting support.”

The new episode of Good Guys premieres Monday, March 24. The second half of Bell’s interview will appear in the Thursday, March 27, episode.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, please contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or go to rainn.org.

If you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse, please contact the SAMHSA helpline at 1-800-662-HELP.

Drake and Josh and Ben (Part 2) | Josh Peck

In Part 2 of our sit-down with Drake Bell, we pick up right where we left off—unpacking everything that came after the show ended. From personal regrets to private reconciliations, we reflect on the years apart, the moments that shaped us, and how we finally found our way back to friendship.

We talk openly about what drove us apart and what’s bringing us back together. Drake shares unbelievable stories—playing a private concert in Switzerland for eight kids, becoming a children’s menu icon in Mexico, and his surreal trip to Brunei with Pamela Anderson. But he also opens up about the real stuff: going to rehab, becoming a father, learning to survive—and then choosing to live fully.

We revisit our shared past with fresh perspective and a whole lot more grace. It’s funny, it’s heartbreaking, it’s hopeful—and it’s the closure we didn’t know we needed.

We love this episode. We love Drake. And we hope you feel the love too.

iSpot Launches 'Outcomes at Scale'; Paramount Leads as First to Implement

iSpot Launches Outcomes at Scale to Power Rapid Performance Tracking Across TV and Streaming

Paramount the First to Implement Attribution Solution that Empowers Large and Small Brands at Scale

iSpot 'Outcomes at Scale' logo

BELLEVUE, WA – March 27, 2025iSpot, the cross-platform TV ad measurement company, today announced the launch of the advertising industry’s first business outcome solution able to deliver attribution for video advertising persistently, at scale. The offering will unlock a new level of transparency, speed and performance tracking to the TV and streaming marketplace.

Outcomes at Scale was developed to help the buy and sell side gain rapid insights into performance and share a common metric that proves the value of investment.  Paramount, the global media, streaming and entertainment leader — and a longtime customer and product collaborator of iSpot — is the first to invest, embrace and integrate iSpot’s Outcomes at Scale into its ad sales and advanced audience product offering.

“The ability to deliver automated outcomes seamlessly across platforms is incredibly transformative,” says Travis Scoles, EVP of Advanced Advertising at Paramount. “While traditional metrics like GRPs remain important, they often serve as proxies for impact. Delivering proof of performance at scale is the roadmap for the future of the industry.”

Built as an extension of the robust outcome measurement capability pioneered by iSpot in 2017, iSpot’s Outcomes at Scale is a feed that enables publishers to provide advertising customers an almost immediate view into how verified, on-screen ad impression delivery to audiences connects to a brand’s key sales performance metrics such as store visits, online activity, ticket purchases and more.

The solution was designed to reduce the barriers of time and expense for brands that want to obtain attribution and help democratize access to lower-funnel performance metrics for the advertising industry at large.

“Offering attribution at scale doesn’t just speed up the time to critical insight for brands and enable better in-flight optimizations, it can change the buying process from a conversation about reach to one about impact,” says Stu Schwartzapfel, EVP of Media at iSpot. “Now, instead of waking up and checking how campaigns are pacing for on-target reach, buyers can see how investments are performing as campaigns progress and allocate dollars on what’s working.”

Participating brands gain access to conversion-rate tracking that enables them to see which programs, day parts and audience segments generate the best response to ad campaigns in time for publishers to offer flight optimizations to drive better performance and outcomes.

iSpot, which measures ad creative, audience reach and business outcomes together and unifies video advertising investments across platforms, sees the launch of Outcomes at Scale as a way to empower both the buy and sell side data that can be actioned off of and monetized.

###

iSpot added:

As performance becomes as important to brands and publishers as reach and frequency, we’re excited to announce Outcomes at Scale–iSpot’s latest innovation that makes rapid attribution and lower-funnel insights broadly accessible. This game-changing solution is designed to speed up performance tracking across TV and streaming, help brands see impact in real time and optimize in-flight campaigns.

In short, Outcomes at Scale will allow publishers to provide advertising customers an almost immediate view into how verified, on-screen ad impression delivery to audiences connects to a brand’s key sales performance metrics, from store visits, to online activity to ticket purchases and more.

We’re thrilled to announce this news alongside Paramount as the first partner to integrate Outcomes at Scale into its advanced advertising offering. Together, we’re empowering advertisers to move beyond traditional proxies and focus on what truly matters: business outcomes.

Check out a video on what iSpot’s EVP of Media Partnerships, Stu Schwartzapfel, had to say about offering attribution at scale and read our full announcement [above].

More from Ad Age:

ISpot signs Paramount as first user of new TV outcomes measurement platform

Paramount buyers can use third-party or their own measures in iSpot platform

ISpot bills its Outcomes at Scale as the industry’s first business outcomes solution that can deliver attribution for video ads persistently at scale.

ISpot is launching a new cross-platform outcomes measurement platform with Paramount Global as a charter user, bringing both internal measurement partners and the ability to onboard first-party data from advertisers.

ISpot bills its Outcomes at Scale as the industry’s first business outcomes solution that can deliver attribution for video ads persistently at scale, though it’s a market that others, including Comscore, VideoAmp and Nielsen are increasingly plying as well. Advanced audiences and outcomes remain a small fraction of a TV market still traded mainly on age and gender demos, but an area that’s growing quickly alongside a streaming marketplace that leads growth in the industry.

Paramount recently reached a deal with TV measurement heavyweight Nielsen, mainly for trading on traditional demographic buys, after a four-month standoff. And it reached a new extended deal for demo and advanced audience measurement earlier this year with VideoAmp, which handled all measurement during Paramount's hiatus with Nielsen. But the outcomes measurement deal with iSpot also puts that company squarely into Paramount’s measurement mix, which also includes Comscore.

“The ability to deliver automated outcomes seamlessly across platforms is incredibly transformative,” said Travis Scoles, executive VP of advanced advertising at Paramount, in a statement. “While traditional metrics like GRPs remain important, they often serve as proxies for impact. Delivering proof of performance at scale is the roadmap for the future of the industry.”

Outcomes at Scale is an extension of outcomes measurement iSpot first launched in 2017, allowing publishers to provide buyers with a nearly immediate view into how verified, on-screen ad impression delivery connects to key performance metrics such as store visits, online activity, ticket purchases and other performance metrics, according to an iSpot statement. The system can work either off of third-party data sets iSpot works with or from advertisers’ own first-party data or custom data feeds, a spokesman said.

“It can change the buying process from a conversation about reach to one about impact,” said Stu Schwarzapfel, executive VP of media at iSpot. “Now, instead of waking up and checking how campaigns are pacing for on-target reach, buyers can see how investments are performing as campaigns progress and allocate dollars on what’s working.”

Some of the most notable among these creatures are the Air Nomads’ flying bison, Kyoshi Island’s elephant-koi, the Earth Kingdom’s singing groundhogs and fire ferrets, and even the little purple pentapus.

Steven Yeun has joined the cast of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ untitled animated Aang Avatar: The Last Airbender film, Variety is reporting.

It’s not yet clear which of the Four Nations Yeun may hail from, as character details are being kept under wraps. Yeun joins previously announced cast members Dave Bautista, Eric Nam, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Román Zaragoza. Nam will voice Aang, and Bautista will voice a villain character.

Lauren Montgomery is directing and William Mata is co-directing the film, which is based on Nickelodeon's beloved animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Maryann Garger, Latifa Ouaou, Konietzko and DiMartino are producing.

The movie is slated for release in theaters on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Plot details for the film remain under wraps, however, it is known that the movie, currently under the working title Aang: The Last Airbender, will follow Aang, Katara, Sokka and Zuko as young adults. The movie will be set between the events of the finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel, The Legend of Korra. More information is expected to be announced during Paramount Pictures' CinemaCon 2025 panel on April 3.

Additionally, we know that this movie is one of three animated Avatar movies that Nickelodeon’s Avatar Studios will create. Avatar Studios is “a newly formed division designed to create original content spanning animated series and movies based on the beloved world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.” We don’t know, however, if the movies will serve as sequels to one another or each will be a stand-alone.

Yeun is no stranger to the Avatarverse, having previously voiced Wan, the first Avatar, in Korra. An Oscar nominee for his work in Lee Isaac Chung’s 2020 film Minari, Yeun is currently in production on Ben Affleck’s Animals for Netflix. He recently wrapped production on Joe Carnahan’s RIP, in which he stars opposite Matt Damon and Affleck, also for Netflix. He can currently be seen starring in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 alongside Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo. Other film credits include Love Me with Kristen Stewart, Jordan Peele’s Nope, The Humans, Sorry to Bother You and Okja.

On television, he recently starred in and executive produced the award-winning Netflix/A24 series Beef. For his performance he won Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe awards. Other television roles include The Walking Dead, Tuca & Bertie, Invincible, Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters and The Twilight Zone.

Yeun is repped by WME, Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox and Narrative.
