(New York, NY) - Today, Investigation Discovery, the leading true crime network, announced QUIET ON SET: THE DARK SIDE OF KIDS TV, a four-part docuseries that uncovers the toxic and dangerous culture behind some of the most iconic children's shows of the late 1990s and early 2000s. QUIET ON SET pulls back the curtain on an empire, built by creator Dan Schneider, that had an undeniable grip on popular culture. Series such as All That and The Amanda Show, among others, were obsessively consumed by children across the country and defined comedy for a generation. But behind the upbeat onscreen presence on these shows with questionable jokes and over-the-top sketches, QUIET ON SET reveals an insidious environment rife with allegations of abuse, sexism, racism, and inappropriate dynamics with its underage stars and crew. QUIET ON SET: THE DARK SIDE OF KIDS TV will premiere across two nights on ID from 9PM-11PM ET/PT on Sunday, March 17 and Monday, March 18.
QUIET ON SET features unprecedented access to key cast members, writers, and crew spanning Schneider's popular series at Nickelodeon. Former All That cast members Giovonnie Samuels, Kyle Sullivan, Bryan Hearne and Katrina Johnson and director Virgil Fabian pull back the curtain on the culture on set of the beloved teen sketch series. Writers Jenny Kilgen and Christy Stratton expose allegations of a toxic and sexist environment in The Amanda Show writer's room. Alexa Nikolas offers insight into being a part of Zoey 101. QUIET ON SET will feature additional cast and crew from iCarly, Sam & Cat, Victorious, and other iconic series such as Marc Summers from the popular game show Double Dare. Poignantly, the series will also offer emotional testimony from parents of cast members who attempted to advocate for their children on these sets.
Over the course of its four parts, QUIET ON SET will shine a spotlight on these emotional accounts, chronicling a pattern of gross, abusive, and manipulative behavior that unfolded across decades, as well as exclusive stories about child predators on set. These interviews, woven with archival footage (some of which has never been broadcast), scenes from the shows and social media commentary, will recontextualize many moments within these series that may have seemed silly or off when first aired but now carry a much darker undertone, offering a powerful reframing of these beloved shows.

Schneider, who is referred to in the trailer as “Nickelodeon’s golden boy,” helped launch the careers of Josh Peck, Drake Bell, Miranda Cosgrove, Ariana Grande, Jamie Lynn Spears and more. In the trailer, interviewees explain that “working for Dan was like being in an abusive relationship,” detailing various complaints filed about the showrunner over the years. “There was a toxic environment. It made me trust people less,” another Nickelodeon alum alleged. Schneider’s alleged mistreatment of cast members and employees on his shows is described as an “open secret” in the preview.
A representative for Schneider responded to the Quiet on Set trailer with a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter that argued how often-vulnerable child actors — due to being successful and key earners for their families — were protected on set. “Dan cared about the kids on his shows even when sometimes their own families unfortunately did not. He understood what they were going through and he was their biggest champion. The fact is many of the kids on these shows are put in the untenable position of becoming the breadwinner for their family and the pressure that comes along with that. Add on top of that the difficulties of growing up and having to do so under the spotlight while working a demanding job, all as a child. That is why there are many levels of standards, executives, lawyers, teachers and parents everywhere, all the time, on every set, every day. However, it is still a hard place to be a kid and nobody knew that better than Dan.”
“In the early ’90s, Nickelodeon was kid everything, and you better hope that your house had cable,” one interviewee says in the clip.
“This is when Dan Schneider arrives, Nickelodeon’s golden boy,” another person says. “He created these shows that were hugely successful for them. He launched the careers of child actors who became major stars.”
The trailer shows images of Schneider with popular celebs, including Grande, who played Cat Valentine on Victorious and spin-off Sam & Cat, Kenan Thompson, who starred in several Nickelodeon shows, including All That, as well as Drake Bell, star of Drake & Josh.
“For 20 years he shaped children’s entertainment and culture, but that marked one of the darkest chapters,” an interviewee says.
As the music transitions from uplifting to solemn, former child stars and the parents of former child actors revealed the alleged unseen behavior of Schneider, which they described as an “open secret” of “abusive relationship” that led to “gender discrimination,” “hostile work environment” and “harassment” in the workplace.
Schneider began his career at the children’s TV channel in 1993, helping write and develop the kids sketch comedy show All That. Over the span of 25 years, he created, wrote and produced a slew of other successful shows, including, Kenan & Kel, Sam & Cat, Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, iCarly, Game Shakers and more. Nickelodeon ended their deal with Schneider in 2018 after the allegations surfaced.

February 8, 2024 – SHOWTIME announced today that the second half of the sixth season of the hit drama series THE CHI will return on Friday, May 10 on streaming and on demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® plan, before making its on-air debut on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME on Sunday, May 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The series is currently in production in Chicago on the remaining eight episodes of the supersized 16-episode season.
Created and executive produced by Emmy® winner Lena Waithe (Twenties, Master of None) under her Hillman Grad banner and executive produced by Academy Award® and Emmy winner Common (Selma), THE CHI is a timely coming-of-age story centering on a group of residents on the South Side of Chicago who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption. The record-breaking season-six premiere, which ranks among the top SHOWTIME premieres ever in streaming viewership, kicked off a season that careened between the highest highs and lowest lows. In the season’s first eight episodes, Emmett (Jacob Latimore) and Kiesha’s (Birgundi Baker) blissful blended union is tested by his perilous partnership with Douda, (Curtiss Cook), who is dealing with the fallout of Q’s murder and its effect on the shifting loyalty of his inner circle. Victor’s (Luke James) tangled past impacts his new role as city councilman. Kevin (Alex Hibbert) landed a big gaming opportunity in Los Angeles, leaving behind Maisha (Genesis Denise Hale) to fight for her own big career move in spite of manager Jemma’s (Judae’a Brown) newly divided attentions. But danger lies in wait…no one is safe and everyone will be tested as never before over the course of the sixth season’s shocking last eight episodes.

Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael return to Fortnite. But this time they’ve brought their signature weapons with them. Don Leo’s KATANAS, Mikey’s NUNCHAKU, Donnie’s STAFF, or Raph’s SAI during this limited time event. Starting February 9, 2024. It’s Cowabunga, dudes!
Fortnite developer Epic Games recently revealed that it was working on a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover event. Leaks later dropped that claimed the event would eventually bring Master Splinter and Shredder skins alongside the four Turtles. Today, Fortnite finally dropped the full reveal, giving fans a tease of the upcoming event. As you'd expect from Epic Games at this point, it's a slick trailer featuring the Turtles putting their spin on a classic song. Of course, the trailer ends with our first official look at the Shredder in action.
We've already seen the Turtle skins in the past as part of Chapter 5 Season 1, but it's great to see them back in action. Fortnite has gone with a mix of classic and modern takes on Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. They all have that cartoon-like look that most Fortnite characters have, but the four Turtles all have different aspects of their gear that speak to their personalities. For example, Mikey has a skateboard attached to his back, while Donnie is wearing headphones. The touches are relatively small, but they help each character stand out beyond simply having different colored headbands.
Where the trailer gets more exciting for fans is what comes at the end. The Turtles are confronted by a terrifying version of Shredder, confirming that he'll be involved. It's also worth noting that the trailer also features the Turtles beating up of Foot soldiers. Most likely, Epic wouldn't go through the trouble of mocking those up for the trailer without also planning to include them at some point. Unfortunately, we don't get any hints related to Splinter, but he still could be coming later.
Fans won't have to wait much longer to jump into Fortnite and start up the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event. The new event kicks off tomorrow. Specifically, it's coming out at 9 a.m. ET on February 9th. We don't know everything that's going to be included in the event or how long it'll last, but if you're a TMNT fan, it'll definitely be worth jumping in to see what Fortnite's cooked up.

Nickelodeon and CBS Sports have revealed production elements for the first-ever Super Bowl alternate telecast, airing exclusively on Nickelodeon, Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. (ET). Super Bowl LVIII Live from Bikini Bottom will feature enhanced graphics and advanced augmented reality, bringing the historic Slime-filled telecast to SpongeBob SquarePants’ undersea home. Paramount’s multiplatform coverage of Super Bowl LVIII will feature CBS Sports’ presentation on the CBS Television Network, which will stream on Paramount+ and on mobile with NFL+, in addition to the Nick-ified telecast exclusively on Nickelodeon.
For the first-time ever, characters from SpongeBob SquarePants will join the telecast live, with an animated SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke) joining CBS Sports analyst Nate Burleson and play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle live in the booth to call the game. Sandy Cheeks (voiced by Carolyn Lawrence) will make her sideline reporting debut, while Larry the Lobster (voiced by Mr. Lawrence) provides live commentary. NFL Slimetime’s Young Dylan and Dylan Schefter will also report live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. Dora the Explorer (voiced by Diana ZermeƱo) and Boots (voiced by Asher Colton Spence) help explain penalty calls during the game.
Super Bowl LVIII Live from Bikini Bottom will feature: a can’t-miss opening segment from Allegiant Stadium re-creating SpongeBob’s iconic “Sweet Victory” performance; hijinks throughout the game from fan-favorite villain Plankton; appearances from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; reimagined end zone cannons that fire Slime, Krabby Patties and pickles; undersea AR jellyfish within the stadium; Slime trails and pineapples; and surprise appearances from beloved Nickelodeon characters in the crowd. The production will continue to showcase one-of-a-kind content and Nick-themed elements throughout, including guest appearances, original on-field graphics, virtual filters, and more for kids and families.

Hosts Nate Burleson and Young Dylan are kicking off Super Bowl Sunday with Slimelights from the two teams’ road to the Super Bowl, while Dylan Schefter checks in with exclusive player interviews and Mia Burleson brings the facts about the official Wilson football and the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Plus, Schefter and Young Dylan give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the augmented reality that will appear in Super Bowl LVIII on Nickelodeon.

The game may be over, but the party’s just beginning! SpongeBob SquarePants’ Realistic Fish Head (voiced by Mr. Lawrence) will recap the highlights and Slimelights from the biggest night in sports.

To celebrate the first-ever Super Bowl alternate telecast, Nickelodeon is inviting kids and kids at heart to climb through its Splat portal into the inflatable Bikini Bottom Super Bowl Spectacular at Super Bowl Experience at Mandalay Bay South Convention Center. Fans will have the Slime of their lives as they bounce on a larger-than-life Krabby Patty, toss Krabby Patties into SpongeBob’s mouth, pose for a slimy photo op with the NFL Slimetime NVP trophy and more.
Nick.com/SuperBowl will serve as the official Super Bowl digital hub for kids and families on game day, where users can engage with an array of content packages, meme galleries, articles and more.
Additionally, SpongeBob and Super Bowl LVIII are coming together in the ultimate Bikini Bottom experience on Roblox. Elements from Super Bowl LVIII Live from Bikini Bottom will be featured in five experiences from Gamefam on Roblox--SpongeBob Simulator, TMNT Battle Tycoon, Super NFL Tycoon, Easy Obby and Twilight Daycare. From Feb. 2-19, users can earn Super Bowl SpongeBob-themed rewards by completing quests in each and across all five experiences, participating in pre-game trivia, interacting with SpongeBob characters and more.
On-site in Las Vegas, fans can shop for exclusive products at the Paramount Mountain, including: a SpongeBob SquarePants t-shirt, a Survivor scarf, a Yellowstone hoodie, and South Park socks, plus receive a free Paramount tote with their purchase.
