BURBANK, Calif.–January 17, 2024–Nickelodeon today revealed the line-up of guest stars breathing life into original characters who make up the hilarious and unique world of Rock Paper Scissors and the all-new trailer and key art for the original series, debuting Monday, February 12, at 5:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. The series will also premiere in several Nickelodeon international markets beginning in February 2024.

The all-new Annie Award-nominated series will guest star Grammy Award-winner Alessia Cara (The Willoughbys) as the famous pop star Lolly; Emmy and Golden Globe-nominee Jason Alexander (Star Trek: Prodigy, Seinfeld) as the greatest fart joke comedian of all time Jonathan FartJoke; Isabela Merced (100 Things to Do Before High School, Dora and the Lost City of Gold) as the trio’s hulking vehicle The Susan – a hybrid of bicycle, hot rod and hot-air balloon; and Carla Gugino (Spy Kids) as The Birthday Cop.

Additional voices joining the series include Lauren Ash (Superstore) as Paper’s action movie star sister Sandpaper, J.P. Karliak (New Looney Tunes, TrollsTopia) as The Convenient News Reporter, Eugene Cordero (Star Trek: Lower Decks) as Putty, Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show) as Chad BrockChad and Ray Chase (Good Night World, Jujutsu Kaisen) as Logan of The Rat Bros.

“Rock Paper Scissors started as an idea in Nickelodeon’s Intergalactic Shorts Program and quickly formed into a hilarious buddy comedy about the big and small hijinks of roommates Rock, Paper and Scissors, and the colorful characters in their world,” said Kari Kim, Vice President of Animation Development. “At its core, the original animated series is about the power and joy of friendship.”

The brand-new animated comedy stars already announced Ron Funches (Trolls, Trolls Band Together) as Rock, the member of the trio with the biggest heart and moral compass; Thomas Lennon (Zoey 102, 17 Again, Reno 911!) as Paper, the wannabe intellectual who dreams of being a famous inventor; and Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko’s Modern Life, Reno 911!) as Scissors, who acts overly confident and always wants to be cool. The series also stars Melissa Villaseñor (Saturday Night Live) as Pencil, the trio’s incredibly smart neighbor down the hall and Eddie Pepitone (The Muppets, Old School) as Lou, the angry landlord, who is also a garbage can.

In the half-hour premiere episode, “Scissors Gets a Job,” Scissors tries to become a janitor after he runs out of money but discovers that the job involves way more skill than he initially thought. Meanwhile, Rock and Paper try to motivate Scissors in an unusual way.  Episodes will continue to rollout weekdays at 5:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

Ahead of the premiere, and after Nickelodeon’s Super Bowl telecast on Sunday, February 11, at 7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET, fans can watch a sneak peek of “The Fart Joke Debate,” where Rock, Scissors and Pencil set out to find a fart joke that will make Paper laugh after they discover his dislike for them, and “The First Lou Episode,” where the trio attempts to get their landlord to lower their rent by trying to help him achieve his impossible dream.

Rock Paper Scissors follows the wacky shenanigans and nonsensical adventures of the titular characters – a trio of best friends and roommates who lovingly compete over everything in sometimes laughable but mostly wildly absurd ways.

Originally launched in 2019 as a short, Rock Paper Scissors was greenlit for series from Nickelodeon’s Intergalactic Shorts Program. Created by Kyle Stegina (Robot Chicken) and Josh Lehrman (Robot Chicken), the series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation. HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – January 16, 2024 – The Louds are back! Nickelodeon today announced a special premiere for its hit live-action series The Really Loud House. The hour-long premiere titled, “A Musical to Remember,” is set to premiere on February 19 on Nickelodeon and will be followed by a soundtrack release. Additionally, the second season of The Really Loud House will return with brand-new episodes on February 28 on Nickelodeon.

In “A Musical to Remember,” Lincoln Loud and his best friend Clyde McBride’s plans go awry when Lincoln accidentally eats some memory-erasing jellybeans. After learning that music can help jog a person’s memory, the Louds work together to bring Lincoln’s memory back before it’s too late. Watch the special premiere event Monday, February 19 at 7 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

Featuring all-new original songs and medleys performed by Lincoln, Clyde and the Loud family, including “We’re the Louds,” “Too Sad to Rock,” “Clincoln McCloud” and more, the 20-soundtrack album will be available to stream on all major streaming platforms starting February 19 at 9 p.m. PT / February 20 at 12 a.m. ET.

Season two of The Really Loud House will feature even more hilarious adventures in the town of Royal Woods. Follow the comedic chaos of the Loud family as their kitchen mysteriously catches on fire, Lincoln and Clyde end up in a hot air balloon, the youngest sisters attempt to go out and adventure on their own and more. Based on the Emmy Award-winning animated series, The Loud House, and following the success of the hit live-action movies A Loud House Christmas and A Really Haunted Loud House, season two premieres Wednesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

The cast from the first season of The Really Loud House will reprise their roles in the musical and in the series’ second season: Wolfgang Schaeffer as Lincoln Loud; Brian Stepanek as Lynn Loud Sr.; Jolie Jenkins as Rita Loud; Eva Carlton as Leni Loud; Sophia Woodward as Luna Loud; Catherine Bradley as Luan Loud; Annaka Fourneret as Lynn Loud; Aubin Bradley as Lucy Loud; Ella Allan as Lola Loud; Mia Allan as Lana Loud; Lexi Janicek as Lisa Loud; Lexi DiBenedetto as Lori Loud; and August Michael Peterson as Lily Loud. ‘The Brothers Sun’ Series Director Wants To Adapt ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin’

Is it time for a Last Ronin adaptation?

Is it time for a grittier Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot? The Brothers Sun director Kevin Tancharoen wants to adapt The Last Ronin comic for the big screen!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was one of the biggest animated films of 2023, giving new life to the iconic heroes in a half-shell in a light-hearted coming-of-age story from writer and producer Seth Rogen. However, “Teenage” is only one part of what makes the Turtles so great, and it seems director Kevin Tanchareon wants to take a crack at the “Ninja” part of that equation.

Kevin Tanchareon made his stamp on the world of pop culture with his highly popular Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short film in 2010, going on to direct two seasons of a web series set in the same universe entitled Mortal Kombat: Legacy and kickstarting the production of what would one day become the 2021 movie Mortal Kombat.

In recent years, Kevin Tanchareon has been busy working on The Brothers Sun for Netflix, a story about two sons of the head of the Taiwanese triad, featuring Michelle Yeoh and breakout stars Justin Chien and Sam Li. While speaking to Heroic Hollywood about the upcoming series, Tanchareon revealed his dream would be to adapt the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic entitled The Last Ronin, which follows the last surviving turtle trying to avenge his deceased brothers in a cyberpunk dystopia.

When asked whether there was there anything else that he would like to get out, either about The Brothers Sun or his own work that he hasn’t been able to get out there yet, Tanchareon revealed:

“…The ultimate dream, though, if I had to pick any comic book property? The Last Ronin. I would LOVE to do a darker take on [the Teenage Mutant] Ninja Turtles. And I know that there’s a large audience for that. Now, whether or not Nickelodeon would ever let that happen, I’m not sure. But I do know Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird always intended for it to be a little bit on the darker side.”

“And if you rewatch the 1990 movie, that movie ain’t a kids film! [Laughs]. It’s so not a kid’s film. The second one is a kids’ film, the first one though? Pretty dark for what it was and I thought it worked. I think there’s something beautiful about that story, but yeah.”

“I remember talking to, because I worked with Robert Rodriguez on [The Book of] Boba Fett and I was like ‘So, are you going to do anything with this? Because I know you’re illustrating the cover and you know the guy’ and he’s like ‘Yeah, you know, probably not. Just because it’s too dark’. But if there was ever a world where I could Mortal Kombat: Rebirth it, I would love to.”

On whether his gritter take on TMNT could end up at Netflix, Tanchareon added:

“Maybe, maybe there’s a good mix of [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and The Boys]. But I loved Mutant Mayhem. I thought it was so fun, and my friend from elementary school actually ended up writing it! We nerd out quite a bit because we grew up, and we have some pictures of us in nerdy costumes. Like he was Joker and I was Batman, or whatever, Star Wars, so it was really cool to see that he wrote the next Ninja Turtles movie. And I loved it. I really, really liked it.”

While it’s not likely Nickelodeon would gamble the family-friendly brand of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on an adaptation of The Last Ronin, stranger things have happened - including a Stranger Things x TMNT action figure line. Fans of the franchise have been calling for the comic to be adapted ever since it debuted in 2020. In fact, it’s already getting adapted in the realm of video games thanks to a collaboration between Black Forest Games and THQ Nordic.

Given The Last Ronin has also received two sequel comics in the scant few years it’s been out, it’s clear that Nickelodeon is listening to what fans want from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. And with The Brothers Sun shaping up to be a surprise hit from Netflix, it may be best for fans to make their voices heard sooner rather than later about Kevin Tanchareon helming a potential adaptation!

The Brothers Sun premiered globally on Netflix on January 4th. The series follows Charles “Chair Leg” Sun (played by Justin Chien), the sun of the head of a Taiwanese triad who sets out for Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen (played by Michelle Yeoh), and his younger brother, Bruce (played by Sam Song Li) in an action-packed adventure about food, fights, and family.

Leading the charge in this remarkable transformation is the introduction of the Snick Lounge, an upscale, 90s-inspired space located in the former Vino Vino restaurant. With a dynamic arcade game room, sports lounge, and live music venue, Snick Lounge evokes the best of 90s Nickelodeon, featuring design elements from the brand's biggest hits of the era with a contemporary twist. Guests will have the chance to fully recreate their childhood memories and also relax on the iconic Big Orange Couch!

Josh Allen, Peppa Pig and Dora Star In New Paramount+ NFL Ad

Paramount+ is returning to the Super Bowl and AFC Wild Card Game with two brand-new spots. You can watch the spot from the CBS Wild Card Game, featuring Josh Allen, Peppa Pig, Scourge, and more, using the player below.

The two ads continue the “A Mountain of Entertainment” brand campaign, now in its fourth year, demonstrating the breadth of Paramount+ content.

The new NFL spot features Decepticon Scourge from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (voiced by Peter Dinklage) attempting to face off against Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

They are joined by a mix of characters from across Paramount+ titles and properties, including Dora the Explorer (Dora) and Peppa Pig (Peppa Pig) as NFL on CBS announcers Tracy Wolfson, Jim Nantz, and Tony Romo commentate on Scourge’s failed offense attempts.

The new advertisement, which made its debut on Sunday, January 14, is the 14th installment in the “A Mountain of Entertainment” series and was created by agency partner Droga5.

The spots brings together a humorous mismatch of legacy characters, star athletes, and iconic announcers, leveraging Paramount+’s breadth of popular franchises, characters, and talent.

More information on the Super Bowl ad will be available at a later date.
