Victoria Justice Reveals That She'd Be Open to Reviving 'Victorious', 11 Years After Show's End

Could Tori Vega be about to Make It Shine once again?

'Victorious' cast

During a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Victorious star Victoria Justice revealed that she would be open to reviving her beloved Nickelodeon musical comedy series!

Initially running for 57 episodes across four seasons between March 27, 2010 – February 2, 2013 on Nickelodeon, Victorious follows the life of Tori Vega (Justice), who, after years of living in her older sister's shadow, was invited to attend Hollywood Arts, a high school with a focus on the performing arts. While the invitation came as a surprise — she's never thought of herself as particularly talented — and she still has to deal with being the new kid on campus, Hollywood Arts may just give Tori her chance to shine.

In addition to Justice, the series stars Ariana Grande as Cat Valentine, Leon Thomas III as Andre Harris, Daniella Monet (Paradise Run) as Trina, Matt Bennett as Robbie Shapiro (along with his puppet, Rex Powers), Liz Gillies as Jade West and Avan Jogia as Beck Oliver, as well as Eric Lange as teacher Erwin Sikowitz. The series was created by controversial filmmaker Dan Schneider, and filmed at Nickelodeon on Sunset in Hollywood, California. The series was produced by Schneider's Bakery, Sony Music Entertainment and Nickelodeon Productions.

Speaking to ComicBook ahead of her new film Depravity, Justice revealed that she “would be open” to a Victorious revival akin to Paramount+’s recent Zoey 102 and iCarly reboots.

“I would, totally,” Justice said. “I think I would be open.”

The actor goes on to say, however, that she does wonder if Victorious is best left in the past, but generally, she seems enthusiastic about the idea. Check out her comment below:

“I mean, there’s a part of me that’s like, just let a good thing be a good thing. You don’t always have to reopen that can of worms. Maybe just like let it be nostalgic and be what it was, but at the same time, it could be fun, you know? So I could be down.

“It would be really fun to work with everyone again. It would be like such a wildly nostalgic experience for me. I think we’d have a good time. You never know!”

The series ended quite abruptly in 2013, without the show getting a proper series finale, which not only upset fans, but also the show's stars.

The series was spun off with iCarly for Sam & Cat, which saw Grande and iCarly star Jennette McCurdy reprise their respective roles.

In March 2020, the cast of Victorious held a virtual reunion for fans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their show.

Since the show ended in 2013, the show has gone on to find new audiences, both with replays on TeenNick as well as through streaming services such as Paramount+ and Netflix. The Victorious legacy has also lived on thanks to its music.

“Start 'Best Friend’s Brother',” Justice said when asked to play “start, bench, cut” with three of the biggest hits from the Victorious soundtrack. “I wrote that from my own personal experience. I have the closest personal connection to that one. I would bench 'Freak the Freak Out' and I would cut 'Song 2 You'. Sorry!”

Cutting “Song 2 You” didn’t come easy for Justice, as that track was performed by herself and Thomas III, a close friend on and off the Victorious set. In the years since Victorious ended, Thomas III has shifted most of his career focus to music. This past February, he won his first Grammy Award for his work on SZA’s “Snooze.”

“I’m so happy for Leon,” Justice praised her former co-star. “He is so incredibly talented and deserves all the success that he’s having right now.”

Justice herself has continued to release solo music, most recently dropping the single “Down” in July. When asked if another collaboration with Thomas III could be on the horizon, Justice teased that those discussions might already be happening.

“Potentially. Potentially we have discussed this,” Justice teased. “I would love to collaborate with him in the future. We’ll see what happens. That would be just so much fun and so nostalgic, and I would be so curious to see like what we would make now.”

Justice can be seen in Depravity, a new mystery thriller from the writer of The Fighter and Patriots Day, available on digital platforms now.
