PARAMOUNT+’s RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE GLOBAL ALL STARS CROWNS WINNER DURING SHOWSTOPPING FINALE
Winner Receives $200,000 and a Coveted Spot in the International Pavilion at the “Drag Race Hall of Fame”
October 25, 2024 - Paramount+ today announced that Alyssa Edwards was crowned as the winner of the first-ever RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE GLOBAL ALL STARS, receiving a gag-worthy grand prize of $200,000 and a coveted spot in the International Pavilion at the Drag Race Hall of Fame. The top four - Alyssa Edwards (USA), Kitty Scott-Claus (UK), Kween Kong (Australia), and Nehellenia (Italy) - battled it out in the last sickening lip sync of the season to “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga, and Alyssa Edwards was crowned as the victorious “Queen of the Mothertucking World.”
“All of the queens that competed on the first ever Global All Stars blew me away,” said eight-time Emmy® Award-winning host and executive producer, RuPaul. “But, in the end, it was Alyssa Edwards, the queen from Mesquite, Texas, that showed me and the world what sickening, gagworthy, and drop-dead gorgeous drag is all about.”
During the finale, the top four queens sat down with host RuPaul and resident judge Michelle Visage for an emotional Tic Tac chat, reflecting on their journeys throughout the season and what it means to represent their countries on a global stage. The finalists were also challenged to write, record, and star in the “Dance Like the World is Watching” music video with help from Emmy-nominated choreographer and judge, Jamal Sims.
All the previously eliminated Global All Stars returned to the Werk Room and hit the main stage with the top four to strut their final runway looks for RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Jamal Sims, and celebrity guest judge Ariadna Gutiérrez Arévalo. Additionally, it was ruvealed that the 12 queens voted Soa de Muse as Miss Global Peacemaker for her kindness and compassion throughout the season, earning her a cash prize of $10,000 for the award. Soa was also the champion of the Global Lip-Sync “LaLaPaRuza Smackdown” in last week’s episode, earning her the title of the first-ever Global Lip Sync Assassin and a cash tip of $50,000.
The 12 queens from around the world who competed and represented their countries on GLOBAL ALL STARS included Alyssa Edwards (“RuPaul’s Drag Race,” RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE ALL STARS), Athena Likis (“Drag Race Belgique”), Eva Le Queen (“Drag Race Philippines”), Gala Varo (“Drag Race México”), Kitty Scott-Claus (“RuPaul's Drag Race UK”), Kween Kong (“Drag Race Down Under”), Miranda Lebrão (“Drag Race Brasil”), Nehellenia (“Drag Race Italia”), Pythia (“Canada’s Drag Race”), Soa de Muse (“Drag Race France”), Tessa Testicle (“Drag Race Germany”), and Vanity Vain (“Drag Race Sverige”).
In celebration of GLOBAL ALL STARS, MTV, home of the flagship “RuPaul’s Drag Race” series, and World of Wonder partnered with All Out – an international organization that fights for LGBTQ+ rights around the world – and made a $100,000 donation to start the new fund.
