Paramount Global Italia has acquired the Italian pay-TV rights to their 2D-animated adventure series Monster Loving Maniacs from Mondo TV Group and Toon2Tango, with the series set to premiere on Nickelodeon Italy (Italia) on Monday 21st October 2024, airing weekdays at 16:00. Under the deal, Paramount also has the option to air it on its free-to-air Super! channel.
Commissioned by Super RTL (Germany) and DR TV (Denmark), Monster Loving Maniacs is a 2D-animated series (52 x 11 minutes) about three siblings training to become monster hunters who decide to save the creatures in their crosshairs instead of capturing them.
Join Edith, Ernest and Bo, three siblings, who are being trained as monster hunters by their tough old grandfather. These kids are massive horror fans who love dangerous paranormal creatures, which doesn’t quite match their grandfather’s old-school ideas. So, as soon as grandpa takes one of his many naps, they look for a way to save the monsters rather than hunt them.Monster Loving Maniacs is an animated comedy for 6-10 year-olds. It is exciting and funny, has lots of monsters and it looks amazing. Monster Loving Maniacs is co-produced by Germany’s Toon2Tango, Denmark’s JA Film, Italy’s Mondo TV Group and Belgium studios Belvision and Ginger Pictures. It’s currently airing in more than 130 countries. In addition to Paramount Global Italia, the series has also been sold to True Visions in Thailand, MBC3 for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and Noga in Israel.
Mondo TV and Toon2Tango have also secured deals with Canal+ for pay-TV and SVOD rights in France; Hungarian cable rights now belong to RTL Klub; TV3’s license covers free-to-air and VOD rights in Latvia; and Ketnet (Belgian pubcaster VRT’s kids channel) has acquired free-to-air and digital platform rights. And EITB (the Basque Autonomous Community’s public broadcaster) picked up the show for Northern Spain. CBBC picked up the animated show in September 2022 and premiered it in the UK the following month.
