BERLIN, WEDNESDAY AUGUST 21 2024 – DAZN, the global sports entertainment platform, and Pluto TV, a global leader in free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST), announce the extension and expansion of their successful partnership to bring sports content on Pluto TV. As part of the new agreement, fans will be able to enjoy another new and free DAZN Free TV channel with high-quality live sports, exclusively on Pluto TV in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and all for free.
The expansion of the partnership with Pluto TV marks the next significant growth step for DAZN, following the recent deepening of the long-standing strategic partnership with kicker and the expansion of the offering in Switzerland to include Serie A and Ligue 1, as well as a cooperation with free-TV channel DF1.
DAZN and Pluto TV launch the first dedicated handball channel on free TV in the DACH region
Handball is undoubtedly one of the most popular TV sports in Germany. DAZN and Pluto TV are launching the first exclusive handball channel on free TV in the DACH region, "DAZN Handball x Pluto TV", from August 21, once again leading the way of innovation and making more sport available to fans .This new channel will show the best games and biggest stars from Germany and Europe, including exciting matches from the EHF Champions League and the EHF European League with German participation - in both the men's and women's competitions.
Prominently featuring the Men’s EHF Champions League with the German teams Füchse Berlin & SC Magdeburg, the new DAZN Handball x Pluto TV channel will be airing one live match from each round of EHF Handball as a free TV Exclusive starting from mid-September. Included are also the final matches of both the men's and women's European competitions and renowned teams such as THW Kiel, SG Flensburg-Handewitt, Paris Saint Germain and Champions League winners FC Barcelona.
“DAZN Handball x Pluto TV” will also air live matches from the Women’s champions League and European League for Women and Men, including the semifinal and final in all three tournaments, as well as highlights and re-lives of German matches from the extensive EHF catalogue.
The launch comes on the heel of DAZN and Pluto TV longstanding collaboration, which brought to the launch of DAZN's successful darts and women's sports channels on Pluto TV last year
DAZN and Pluto TV are also continuing the successful broadcast of DAZN darts channel on Pluto TV, including numerous free TV exclusive live events such as the PDC World Cup of Darts and the World Matchplay, which will be made available to all sports fans free of charge. "DAZN Darts x Pluto TV" will continue to offer PDC tournaments and bring the best players in the world, including world number one Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price, directly to the fans.
Women's sport also remains a central component of the collaboration. The "DAZN Heldinnen x Pluto TV" channel will continue to offer live broadcasts and highlights of the UEFA Women's Champions League, the Women's Bundesliga and other major competitions to further promote the visibility and recognition of women's sport.
