Alongside Idris Elba in the starring role, Adam Pally will reprise his role from the film franchise as Wade Whipple. Additional cast includes Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Julian Barratt (Mindhorn), Scott Mescudi (Don’t Look Up), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso, The Mash Report), and guests stars Rory McCann (Game of Thrones) and Tika Sumpter who will return as Maddie.
The brand-new series and the latest in the and the latest in the ‘Cinematic World of Sonic the Hedgehog’ from Paramount Pictures and SEGA of America reunites the original Sonic the Hedgehog filmmaking team including Jeff Fowler, the films’ director, as well as Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, John Whittington and Toru Nakahara, who serve as executive producers on the series, alongside Idris Elba who also serves as executive producer. Additional directors for the series include Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone and Carol Banker. The series was created for television by Whittington and Ascher, who ran the show during production. Whittington, who co-wrote Sonic the Hedgehog 2, served as head writer and wrote the pilot for the series. Additional series writers include Brian Schacter and James Madejski. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
