Paramount Pictures has announced that it'll release the sequel to the hit movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem in theaters on Friday, October 9, 2026.
A follow up to Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies' 2023's megahit, the sequel was first announced in July, prior to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem being released in theaters. Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a two-season series that will serve as a “bridge” between the films, was also announced at the same time.
The sequel will be produced by Point Grey Pictures and directed by Jeff Rowe, who also served as the director and co-writer of Mutant Mayhem.
Set to premiere on Paramount+ this summer, Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be a 2D animated series with two seasons currently in the works, taking place between the events of the feature film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and the forthcoming sequel.
The all-new Paramount+ original series explores the adventures of everyone's favorite pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers onto the streets of NYC. Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey are faced with new threats and team up with old allies to survive both teenage life and villains lurking in the shadows of the Big Apple.
Reprising their roles from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the series features Micah Abbey (Cousins for Life) as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. (The Chi) as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu (The Walking Dead: World Beyond) as Leonardo, Brady Noon (Family Switch) as Raphael and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as April O’Neil. The series is being produced by Nickelodeon Animation and Point Grey Pictures.
“In the nearly 40 years since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles launched into the zeitgeist, it has entertained generations of fans and only continues to grow,” said Paramount and Nickelodeon chief Brian Robbins when the sequel and TV series was first announced. “We are excited to grow TMNT’s legacy in partnership with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg at Point Grey, and Jeff Rowe, who are innovating the franchise with their singular brand of humor and elevated storytelling for audiences everywhere, across virtually every platform.”
Said Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation & Nickelodeon Animation, “Reinvigorating this franchise has been years in the making, and we are thrilled to continue expanding the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe and bringing new adventures to families and fans.”
Update (4/11) - It was announced today at CinemaCon 2024 that Seth Rogen is producing this new installment with Evan Goldberg, James Weaver and Ramsay McBean. Rowe has co-directors Kyler Spears and Yashar Kassai also on the team.
