BURBANK, Calif., Sept. 14, 2023 -- Nickelodeon's beloved Latina heroine Dora is making her big screen debut with the launch of the all-new animated short film, Dora and the Fantastical Creatures, exclusively in theatres beginning Friday, Sept. 29. Movie fans of all ages around the world seeing PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (from Spin Master Entertainment, Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures), will experience the original theatrical short that heralds her return in Dora, an all-new CG-animated preschool series set to stream exclusively on Paramount+ in spring 2024 in the U.S. Internationally, Dora will stream day-and-date on Paramount+ and air on Nickelodeon channels in all markets where available.

In Dora and the Fantastical Creatures, Dora (Diana Zermeño) and Boots (Asher Spence) embark on an incredible adventure to the land of alebrijes, the most magical and colorful creatures in the rainforest. There, they must band together against Swiper (Marc Weiner) to save the beloved alebrijes and their Copal Tree Celebration. The short film also features: Anairis Quiñones as Luna Arcoiris; Danny Burstein as Sol; and Kate del Castillo as Ale. Following the debut of Dora and the Fantastical Creatures, additional Dora content will also be available across Nickelodeon platforms, Paramount+ and Noggin.   

Dora and the Fantastical Creatures is produced by Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank, Calif. William Mata is directing from a screenplay by Alejandro Bien-Willner and a story by Bien-Willner and Sean Gill. Production is overseen by Eryk Casemiro, Executive Vice President, Global Animated Series, Nickelodeon. Miriam Ritchie and Marielle Kaar serve as Nickelodeon's Executives in Charge of Production for the short. Dora the Explorer is created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes and Eric Weiner.

Paramount Announces Canine-Friendly 'PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie' Screening Event to Break Guinness World Records Title

Paramount Pictures is teaming up with Best Friends Animal Society and Street Food Cinema to invite families and their dogs to a super screening event of the upcoming theatrical release PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie on Sunday, September 24th, attempting to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the “most dogs attending a film screening.”

The film will screen in Los Angeles at the Autry Museum at Griffith Park, with pups over the age of one and their companions encouraged to attend to watch their favorite PAW Patrol team in action. Event Details:

WHAT: Street Food Cinema screening of PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, in association with Paramount Pictures and Best Friends, to attempt to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for “MOST DOGS ATTENDING A FILM SCREENING.”

WHEN: The screening will begin at 3:30pm PT on Sunday, September 24. Check in will start at 1:30pm PT.

WHERE: Autry Museum at Griffith Park – 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles, CA 90027

HOW: To participate in the screening, pups must be at least one year old and accompanied by a handler. A full list of rules can be found below. “We are very excited to be a partner for the PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie screening and to help kids understand the importance of adopting,” said Brittany Thorn, Executive Director, Best Friends Animal Society in LA. “Educating children and their families on the importance of adoption will help us reach our goal of taking the country no-kill by 2025 and saving countless pets lives.”

All dogs are welcomed. In order to be counted towards the record breaking count, each handler and dog must adhere to the following rules:

Dogs must be a minimum of 1 year old and considered to be ‘adult’. All dogs will be checked by a veterinarian upon check-in.
All dogs must be accompanied by a handler. Only one dog per handler.
Each handler must register details of the dog’s breed, age and name upon registration.
All participants and their dogs must be in position, standing up, seated or laid down in full view of the screen simultaneously and must remain for a minimum of 10 minutes while the film is shown. Any attendees that arrive once the film has already started will not be counted in the final tally.
All dogs must have collars and/ or harnesses and leashes and leads must be worn at all times.
Animals must not wear any attire, e.g. clothing, jewelry, and must not have received any cosmetic procedures, such as ear cropping, taping & splinting, tail docking, debarking and declawing. Coat modifications beyond standard grooming e.g. dying, styling, painting will not be permitted.
The animals are not to wear anything corrective, such as a prong collars, shock collars or rollkur.
All animals involved in the record must be well cared for, during all attempt phases.

Originally announced under the title Monster High: The Movie 2, the freshly titled Monster High 2 still has its plot sealed in a crypt, but we do know that the musical movie will involve the kids facing a new threat to the school while balancing schoolwork and romance whilst also being monsters.

The sequel to last year's megahit Monster High: The Movie, the live-action musical film stars returning cast Mila Harris as Clawdeen Wolf, Ceci Balagot as Frankie Stein, Nayah Damasen as Draculaura, Case Walker as Deuce Gorgon, Marci T. House as Headmistress Bloodgood, Steve Valentine as Dracula, Jy Prishkulnik as Cleo de Nile, Lina Lecompte as Lagoona Blue, Justin Derickson as Heath Burns, Lilah Fitzgerald as Ghoulia Yelps, Nasiv Sall as Abbey Bominable, and newcomer Salena Qureshi as Toralei Stripe. Todd Holland returns as director, and the screenplay is by Matt Eddy and Billy Eddy, based on a story by Holland and the Eddys.
