Nickelodeon May Be Planning A New 'Fairly OddParents' Reboot

Could a The Fairly OddParents reboot be on the horizon?

According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Paramount Global, the parent company of the Nickelodeon brand, has applied to register The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish with the USPTO under several NICE classes, including NICE class "41 - Education, entertainment, sporting and cultural services", which is for Goods & Services pertaining to "entertainment services in the nature of continuing program series, featuring live action, comedy and drama provided through cable television, broadcast television, internet, video-on-demand, and through other forms of transmission media; providing online information in the field of entertainment concerning television programs".

Paramount has also applied to register the title under NICE classes 28 for "Games; toys; sports equipment" and 25 for "Clothing; footwear; headgear".

At the moment, not much information is available about The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, including whether it'll be a TV series of a movie, and whether it'll be for Nickelodeon, Paramount+ or both. The news comes as Nickelodeon is in the midst of reviving a raft of iconic properties, including Rugrats, iCarly, Good Burger, Zoey 101, The Thundermans, Dora the Explorer, and more. The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish would also be the second Fairly OddParents revival in recent years, following last year's animated/live-action hybrid Paramount+ Original series Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder.

Nickelodeon’s beloved animated The Fairly OddParents series, which ran from 2001-2017 with 172 episodes, followed the magical adventures of 10-year-old Timmy Turner and his well-meaning fairy godparents, Cosmo & Wanda, who grant him wishes. During its run, The Fairly OddParents became one of Nickelodeon’s most beloved properties from both fans and critics alike, having won and been nominated for dozens of awards. The Fairly OddParents was created by Butch Hartman.

When four pet turtles were bathed in alien ooze, they began to mutate and became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Led by Master Splinter, the four turtles learn the ancient martial art of Ninjitsu, mastering skills of stealth, weapons, and fighting. They stop evildoers in all forms, whether barbaric gangs, lowlife crooks, deranged cyborgs, or even the crime syndicate The Foot, led by their archrival, The Shredder. This release of the 2003 reimagined series includes all 155 episodes. May 18, 2023 – Paramount+ and Nickelodeon today announced additional casting for ZOEY 102, the all-new, full-length original movie based on characters from the hit live-action Nickelodeon series “Zoey 101” as they reunite for a wedding. Joining the previously announced returning cast members are Dean Geyer (“Glee”), Owen Thiele (“Theater Camp”) and Thomas Lennon (“Reno 911”). First look images were also released for ZOEY 102, which will premiere later this summer exclusively on Paramount+.

Over a decade after the iconic series ended, Zoey Brooks is still trying to figure out life and love, this time in her 20s. The Pacific Coast Academy (PCA) gang returns to Malibu for an over-the-top wedding turned high school reunion for the books.

Jamie Lynn Spears returns as Zoey Brooks, who graduated alongside the first female class ever to be allowed into Pacific Coast Academy. Erin Sanders returns as Zoey’s best friend, Quinn Pensky. Sean Flynn returns as Zoey’s on again, off again love interest, Chase Matthews. Also returning are Matthew Underwood, as Logan Reese; Christopher Massey, as Michael Barret; Abby Wilde, as Stacey Dillsen; and Jack Salvatore, as Mark Del Figgalo.

The wedding reunion includes new cast members: Thomas Lennon, as Zoey’s boss Kelly Kevyn; Owen Thiele as Zoey’s friend Archer March; and Dean Geyer, as charismatic actor Todd.

ZOEY 102 is directed by Nancy Hower (“Saturdays,” SO HELP ME TODD, “QuickDraw”) and Monica Sherer & Madeline Whitby (“Betch,” “Drama Club,” “All That”) wrote the script. Jamie Lynn Spears serves as executive producer along with Alexis Fisher, Hower and Sherer & Whitby. Production of ZOEY 102 for Nickelodeon Studios is overseen by Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, co-heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action.

The YA movie ZOEY 102 is based on characters from the iconic series “Zoey 101,” which debuted on Nickelodeon in January 2005, and quickly emerged as one of the top live-action kids’ series on all of television. The series follows Zoey Brooks as she enrolls in Pacific Coast Academy, a school that previously only allowed boys to attend. Throughout the series, Zoey and her friends navigate life as teenagers at a boarding school. The original Nickelodeon series was created by Dan Schneider.

ZOEY 102 joins Paramount+’s growing lineup of YA content, including the service’s hit iCARLY series revival, which was renewed for a third season, as well as the recently released series SCHOOL SPIRITS starring Peyton List (“Cobra Kai,” “Bunk’d”), and the original film HONOR SOCIETY starring Angourie Rice (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Mare of Easttown”) and Gaten Matarazzo (“Stranger Things”).
