First, China's population fell for the first time in six decades. The country's population decreased by 850,000 people. Experts see China's population shrinking by 100 million over the next 30 years leading to India becoming the most populated country in the world.
Next, a new high tech trash can hopes to fight the global food waste problem. The Bin, designed by Mill, dehydrates and grinds up household food waste intro a nutrient rich powder which can be reused as animal feed. The goals are to prevent food from ending up in landfills and fight climate change.
And the USDA has approved the first vaccine for honeybees. The vaccine protects against a bacterial disease which has contributed to its population decline. It will be administrated to the queen bee through a jelly which will protect the entire hive.
