Features premieres of exclusive first-run Hollywood films and new scripted series from the world’s greatest studios
New streaming service SkyShowtime officially launched on Tuesday, September 20, bringing its premium offering of exclusive and iconic entertainment from the world’s greatest studios to homes across Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden for the first time. The company also announced upcoming launches in the Netherlands and Portugal, which will both go live on 25 October.
SkyShowtime brings together the best entertainment from the world’s greatest studios and storytellers. Featuring thousands of hours of quality entertainment for the whole family, the service will be home to a wide selection of the world’s most highly anticipated series and movies.
It features the exclusive television premieres of first-run theatrical films from Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures, Hollywood’s two oldest studios which together account for nearly 50% of Hollywood box office.
SkyShowtime will be home to a selection of new blockbuster films following their theatrical and home entertainment release, including three of this year’s top films: Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, and Minions: The Rise of Gru. Other blockbusters that will be premiering on SkyShowtime include The Northman, Sing 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, The Lost City, Downton Abbey: A New Era, Nope, Belfast, Ambulance, and The Bad Guys.

On Cooper Rush…
Simms – “Cooper Rush made good decisions, threw the football well, hit the big plays when it counted. Now we’ve seen him in two games and what has he done? He’s taken the last drive of the game for their team and put them in position to win and they did it. I’m not saying anything except that’s kind of what you want from a quarterback – to give your team a chance and he did that.”
Irvin – “Y'all are minimizing what Cooper Rush did. I like what you’re saying, but you’re still minimizing. He didn’t just come. Early on in that game, Cooper Rush made two great drives. Early in the game, which is really big. The Cowboys are pondering and wondering what are they going to do. I would trust the guy Cooper Rush. He drove them right down the field twice. That was huge.”
On Jalen Hurts’ impressive performance and the Eagles’ outlook…
Irvin – “I didn’t know that quarterbacks can improve on accuracy in such a way that we’re now watching with Jalen Hurts. I said earlier in the summer that if this team puts the right hand under center and the right hand coaching the quarterback, then this team can seriously be considered a dynasty. They’ve got talent and they’ve got some great picks coming up. If they do the right thing, this can be a long, long ride. But the most important thing was Jalen Hurts, and I’m telling you, that dude is impressive.”
On Kansas City continuing to control the AFC West after beating the Chargers…
Edelman – “The road to the AFC West is still going through the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. Chargers, what’d they do this offseason? …They brought all these free agent signings, and they have a quarterback like Justin Herbert to win games like they just lost. We saw it all last year, they lost all the important games. They didn’t make the playoffs. How do you win these types of games? You have to play situational football at an absolute premium. There are all these little plays when you’re trying to compete against the championship formula type teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, who are trying to find their identity after Tyreek Hill but still collecting wins. That tells me they’re the cream team.”
On the recipe for comebacks and how the Patriots rallied against the Falcons in Super Bowl LI…
Edelman – “I know the number one thing is mental toughness. Having the ability to have that short memory, not thinking about what’s going on in the game but thinking about your individual assignment each and every play - that’s what our teams did when we were ever behind and needed a huge, big comeback. It was just a group of men that would sit there and worry about what they had to do each and every play, and when you compound good play after good play after good play, you start getting that momentum, and the other team starts feeling it, and then all of a sudden you get them, and it’s over.”
On Jimmy Garoppolo…
Edelman – “Jimmy G came out and he showed mental toughness this week. The team, they turned their back on him. Pay cut, Trey Lance. They drafted Trey Lance and what did [Garoppolo] do? He came in and he won. And the reason is because the San Francisco 49ers now know what they are. They were trying to figure out what they were going to become with Trey Lance. Now that they have Jimmy G back in the lineup, they know what works, they know what doesn’t work. They know what they can build off of, and Jimmy G is going to probably give this team a better chance to get to the “Handsome Bowl,” which is the NFC Championship between the 49ers and the Tampa Bay Bucs.”
Irvin – “I say with Jimmy G now, they’re in the top three or four teams in the NFC fighting for that spot now that he’s at the helm.”
