PARAMOUNT+ REVEALS PREMIERE DATE AND OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR NEW ORIGINAL SERIES “THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: FAIRLY ODDER,” PREMIERING THURSDAY, MARCH 31
Produced by Nickelodeon, New Series Combines Live Action and Animation
Feb. 23, 2022 – Paramount+ today released the official trailer and key art for its upcoming original series THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: FAIRLY ODDER. All 13 episodes of the debut season will be available to stream beginning Thursday, March 31, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Nordics and Latin America. Combining live action and animation, THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: FAIRLY ODDER will pick up years after the original ended by following Timmy Turner’s cousin, Vivian “Viv” Turner, and her new stepbrother, Roy Raskin, as they navigate life in Dimmsdale with the help of their fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo.
In THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: FAIRLY ODDER, Ty Turner uproots his life to reunite with his high school sweetheart, Rachel Raskin, in the town of Dimmsdale, thrusting his cautious 13-year-old daughter, Viv, into a new world where she does not fit in. Once there, Viv’s cousin, Timmy, entrusts his fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo, to help her adjust by taking her under their wings. Witnessing the fairy transfer take place, Viv’s charismatic new stepbrother, Roy, also inherits them, and the two siblings must take turns making wishes. Together, they learn to overcome the obstacles in their path, all with the help from their new wand-wielding and wish-granting fairy godparents.
THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: FAIRLY ODDER stars Audrey Grace Marshall as Vivian “Viv” Turner; Tyler Wladis as Roy Raskin; Laura Bell Bundy as Roy’s mom, Rachel Raskin; Ryan-James Hatanaka as Viv’s dad, Ty Turner; and Imogen Cohen as their friend, Zina Zacarias. Original voice cast Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris return to voice the iconic, and still animated, fairly godparents, Wanda and Cosmo respectively.

Timmy himself will make an appearance in order to gift Cosmo and Wanda to the kids. And yes, he’s still wearing his classic pink hat. But, in place of his pink shirt, he’s wearing a Princeton sweatshirt — which might surprise fans of the original series, considering his relationship with school.
Ty and Rachel got married, but Viv still hasn’t actually met her new stepmother and stepbrother. Once they arrive, Timmy lets go of his longtime fairy godparents to help his cousin adjust to the strange town.
Because he witnesses the fairy transfer take place, Roy also inherits them and the step-siblings are required take turns making wishes. Jorgen Von Strangle even makes an appearance in the footage — and obviously, he’s just as menacing as ever.
"ALL!! Had the chance to be part of an incredible project with the greatest people," Caleb Pierce wrote on Instagram, adding: "I would say “13 year old me is flipping out” but lets be honest - 28 year old me is just as excited". Mike Caron replied "Calebbbbbb! Oh buddy did you crush it. I mean, you took an iconic role and made it your own!! You’ll always be my Timmy Turner. Very proud of you!!!".
Original post:
The new show, coming to Paramount+ this March, will focus on Timmy's 13-year-old cousin Viv inheriting fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda.
Something Fairly Odd is coming to Paramount+: a live-action series based on Nickelodeon's hit The Fairly OddParents animated series!
Entertainment Weekly has revealed the first trailer for the new show, titled Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder, which sees Timmy Turner (Caleb Pierce), the pink-hatted kid from the original animated Nickelodeon series, now all grown up.
Fairly OddParents aired on Nickelodeon from 2001-2017 with a story about 10-year-old Timmy, who goes on magical adventures with his goofball fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo. In the Fairly Odder sequel series, which takes plays years after the original ended, Timmy entrusts his 13-year-old cousin Viv Turner (Audrey Grace Marshall) with his fairies.
Drake Bell (Drake & Josh, The Amanda Show) previously portrayed a live-action Timmy in 2011's A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! and it's follow up A Fairly Odd Christmas in 2012, which were also meant to take place after the original series with Timmy as a 23-year-old.
Original Wanda and Cosmo voice actors Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris return to the characters, which are rendered in Fairly Odder through animation inspired by the first show.
The premise of the series focuses on Viv as she moves to the town of Dimmsdale when her dad, Ty (Ryan-James Hatanaka), decides to reunite with his high school sweetheart, Rachel Raskin (Laura Bell Bundy). Rachel's son, Roy (Tyler Wladis), sees Timmy bestowing his fairy godparents on Viv as she deals with the change in her life, and now the two kids agree to take turns making wishes.
"I want you to meet the two best things that've ever happened to me," says Timmy in the trailer.
Imogen Cohen will also appear Viv and Roy's friend, Zina Zacarias, while another familiar character from Fairly OddParents appears in the footage: Jorgen Von Strangle, the fairy commander from Fairy World who enforces "Da Rules!"
All 13 episodes of Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder will be available to stream on Paramount+ Thursday, March 31 in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Nordics, and Latin America. Christopher J. Nowak (Danger Force) serves as showrunner.

Paramount Plus to Premiere 'Wasteland,' A Four-Part Documentary Series Exploring the Devastating Impact Waste Is Having on the U.S. Water Supply, on Thursday, Feb. 24
PARAMOUNT+ TO PREMIERE “WASTELAND,” A FOUR-PART DOCUMENTARY SERIES EXPLORING THE DEVASTATING IMPACT WASTE IS HAVING ON THE U.S. WATER SUPPLY, ON THURSDAY, FEB. 24
Feb. 22, 2022 – Paramount+ will exclusively premiere WASTELAND, an eye-opening CBS REPORTS four-part documentary series that examines the terrible impact waste is having on America’s waterways. Beginning Thursday, Feb. 24, CBS News correspondent and executive producer in the documentary unit Adam Yamaguchi explores the unusual and unimaginable challenges that Americans living in parts of the country must overcome to preserve their health and property from the encroachment of waste in their water and homes.
WASTELAND looks at how inadequate infrastructure, class imbalance, climate change and the world’s wealthiest economy combine to create a troubling mess for citizens who must struggle to meet the most basic of human needs. Here’s a preview of the episodes ahead:
- Episode 1: “ALABAMA” – Yamaguchi reports on parts of the country where a basic sanitation infrastructure is out of reach for tens of thousands of residents forcing them to live near raw sewage.
- Episode 2: “NEW YORK – Yamaguchi visits Mt. Vernon, N.Y., a town in the shadow of New York City, surrounded by wealth, and overwhelmed by a decrepit sewage system that threatens to swallow it whole.
- Episode 3: “FLORIDA” – Yamaguchi reports from the Florida coasts, where breakneck development, climate change and too much waste are creating a perfect environmental storm.
- Episode 4: “IOWA” – Yamaguchi explores how big farmers in Iowa produce far more pig waste than the environment can handle. As a result, the waste is getting into the waterways and may be impacting residents’ health.
Nancy Lane is the executive producer of CBS REPORTS and the senior vice president and senior executive producer of programming and development for CBS News Streaming.

Kids' Comic Con is set to take place March 3-5, 2022. (Images courtesy of Lake Erie Ink) |
The convention will feature more than 20 workshops, artist conversations, panel discussions, teen afterparties and more. Events will take place both in-person at Lake Erie Ink’s headquarters (2843 Washington Blvd.) and virtually, according to a press release. All virtual events will be free to access, while a ticket to all in-person events will cost $10 for one day or $15 for both. Pre-registration is required. No walk-ins will be admitted. All tickets must be purchased before March 2.
Highlights of this year’s Kids’ Comic Con include a virtual comic workshop with artists from Nickelodeon Studios, including Jeff Sornig, a conversation with Myles Morales Shock Waves author Justin Reynolds, and a talk with Terri Libenson, Juan Fernandez and Amy Schwabauer. The event welcomes comic fans of all ages.
Events will feature New Yorker cartoonist Liz Montague, comic book writer Marc Sumerak, Vagabond Comics co-founder Sequoia Bostick, artist Gilberto Rivera, author Brad Ricca, comics artist Kate Atherton, cartoonist Matt Haberbusch, illustrator Michelle Littlejohn, manga artist Miguel Hernandez, comics scholar Valentino Zullo, illustrator Od Perry-Richardson, cartoonist Samantha Green and 50Fifty Comix.
Attendees can pre-register for the event at lakeerieink.org/kids-comic-con, and can call Lake Erie Ink at 216-320-4757 with any questions.
Kapow! Lake Erie Ink prepares for 10th annual Kids Comic Con
It’s been a decade since Lake Erie Ink first launched its Kids Comic Con—an annual event that creates a safe space for kids to express themselves creatively, let imaginations run free through writing and drawing, and have a chance to work with veteran comics authors and illustrators.
Lake Erie Ink’s signature event has grown over the past 10 years, and so has attendance, says Lake Erie Ink co-founder and executive director Amy Rosenbluth. And despite the COVID-19 pandemic putting a cramp in the usual format the past two years—working with Cleveland Public Library to stream Kids Comic Con last year, and this year offering a hybrid model with both in-person and virtual workshops—the popularity of the event has grown in popularity with kids from all over the region.
This year’s Kids Comic Con kicks off on Thursday, March 3 and runs through Saturday, March 6. Rosenbluth says she expects attendance to be strong this year. “We went from 150 kids the last couple of years, and last year had 120 kids while streaming the entire event,” she says, adding that they already have 25 kids signed up for next week’s Comic Con.
At this year’s event, participants will have the chance to attend more than 20 workshops and conversations with experienced comic creators and guest artists from across the country.
From hearing Justin Reynolds, a nationally syndicated author and writer for Myles Morales: Shock Waves (the original Spider-Man graphic novel), to working with Cleveland-based illustrator, designer, and maker Sequoia Bostick, comic lovers of all ages will have the opportunity to learn from working artists and writers that represent a wide range of styles, experience, and backgrounds
Events include a virtual comic workshop with Nickelodeon Studios on Friday, March 4 at 4 p.m. and a kickoff conversation later that evening with best-selling children’s book author and award winning “Pajama Diaries” cartoonist Terri Libenson and comics and composition teacher Juan Fernandez, hosted by local playwright Amy Schwabauer.
Other featured artists, writers, and panelists include: graphic novelist Justin Reynolds, Dylan Speeg of MesSed Comics, new-to-Kids Comic Con 50Fifty Comix, and many others.
“The coolest thing is everyone has their own pretty unique style,” says Rosenbluth.
While last year’s all-virtual event allowed Lake Erie Ink to reach a broader audience—even attracting participants from outside of Ohio—Rosenbluth says they felt it was important to have some events in-person this year.
“We wanted to try it because we do know kids and parents who are going out,” she explains. “Kids Comic Con is the only one of its kind in the area.” The virtual events and workshops are free, while the in-person workshops and Teen After Party on Saturday, March 5 are $10 each, or $15 for both a workshop and the party. Click here for a complete schedule of events. Pre-registration is required for all events. Groups are welcome to register the virtual events.
While normally Lake Erie Ink would host about 150 people in person for Comic Con, Rosenbluth says they are limiting the number to 90 attendees this year. And medical masks (not superhero masks) will be required at all times. Both individuals and groups are welcome.
Additionally, in attending in person, lunch will not be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. There will be no Artist Alley this year, but books by guest artists will be available at Mac’s Backs Bookstore for purchase. Participants will be asked to stay with the workshops they pre-registered for to prevent larger groups gathering than necessary.
Marking the decade point of Kids Comic Con, Rosenbluth says this event is more needed than ever after the past two years.
“We feel even more passionately that this type of expression is needed, and we’re determined to continue to offer this for kids—letting them have space to imagine that things can be different,” she says. “It’s still about good fighting evil but on whole other level. With all the challenges everyone is facing, imagining a world where things are growing and positive is even more crucial.”

“Our parks and open spaces have been a lifeline for many during the COVID-19 pandemic. And with Plays-in-the-Park returning to the stage again at Roosevelt Park in Edison this summer, there is much to celebrate this season,” said County Commissioner Charles E. Tomaro, chair of Infrastructure Management Committee. “Since opening in 1963, Middlesex County's Plays-in-the-Park has been cited for the excellence of its theatrical productions thanks to its consistent standard of quality and its appeal to all audiences. I wish to extend my gratitude to the cast, crew, and production teams for, without their hard work, none of this would be possible. In addition to enjoying the many productions planned, we encourage everyone attending these events to bring a non-perishable food item as a donation for REPLENISH.”
“Plays-in-the-Park is thrilled to bring such wonderful shows to life in this our 60th Anniversary season! We believe this summer truly offers something for everyone,” said Plays-in-the-Park Artistic Director, Margaret Davis. “Whether it is a hilarious romp through the Renaissance with the likes of the zany Bottom brothers in Something Rotten!, or a trip down to Bikini Bottom to visit SpongeBob and his friends in The SpongeBob Musical, or the ultimate singular sensation of A Chorus Line – individuals will enjoy some exhilarating entertainment out under the stars. We have heard from so many of you and are so grateful for your support. We look forward to seeing you this summer at Plays-in-the-Park!”
