Paramount Global Kids & Family is on the lookout for animation with “smart humour” and single-cam live-action series for Nickelodeon.
Speaking during MIFA at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival last week, Chris Rose, Vice President (VP) of Production & Development, Kids & Family, Global, said he is interested in animation ideas for eight-to 10-year-olds with smart humour, that appeal to a broad audience and that kids can relate to.
Single-cam live-action series, meanwhile, would cater to the 6-12s and must be “grounded in reality but equally aspirational.”
Rose is also on the hunt for “bold and distinctive bridge animation ideas” for four- to seven-year-olds.
“Nickelodeon is constantly looking for new creative ideas and content formats that allow us to tell stories in a different way, ideas that could come from any part of the world. We are always on the lookout for broad comedy, both in the animation and live-action space. We are interested in hearing ideas featuring strong and relatable characters,” the exec said.
“For any idea, our biggest priority remains ensuring that everything we house on our platforms fits within Nickelodeon’s perspective of making the world a more playful place.”
Rose added that content must also reflect and showcase a variety of different family types, as well as authentic and diverse characters.
