Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is expanding its roster further with the release of the "Universe Pack," the developers announced this week!
GameMill Entertainment revealed on Friday, May 13 the release of the "Universe Pack," which will see three more DLC characters being added to the Nickelodeon brawler via DLC releases now, during the summer, and during the fall!
One of those characters, robot Jenny "XJ-9" Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot is out right now with a gameplay breakdown accompanying the character to show what she can do.
Jenny is a unique character in that she can repeatedly mash light down and strong down for repeated attacks while grounded. In the case of Jenny's grounded light down attack, she'll actually stomp forward.
As showcased in the video, XJ-9 is gifted with plenty of aerial movement options. By holding her umbrella attack, it's possible to simply float downwards. She is also armed with a stall-then-fall aerial, an aerial that stalls before pushing her upwards and even a "Chest Laser" that pushes her backwards.
This crimefighting teenage robot is quite versatile as she is armed with two different projectiles — the Rocket Power and Explosive Lasers. Do keep in mind that the explosive lasers will only have stun and knockback properties while the attack is grazing the ground.
Along with Jenny, GameMill Entertainment revealed this week that Hugh Neutron, Jimmy's father from The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life would be coming in the summer and fall, respectively. Each will also get unique stages and costumes. Hopefully brawling won't be as dangerous as laundry day for Rocko!
The trio will come packaged inside of the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Universe Pack, which is an $11.99 bundle that acts as a DLC pass for the new characters.
The trailer, above shows off Jenny’s robotic powers that she used to fight off aliens in My Life as a Teenage Robot. And while Jenny is great, it's Jimmy’s dad who steals the show. In a particularly memorable moment, Hugh rolls onto the scene on a rumbling hog. It just sort of exudes a sort of dad trying too hard to be cool. (Maybe this is why Judy Neutron is so obsessed with him!)
The website advertising these characters has since been updated to reflect that news with Jenny's full moveset viewable there.
You can check out her moves that way, but if you want a better visual of what's Jenny can do, the video below will provide that. It features Thaddeus Crews, the character designer and programmer working on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, who shared a walkthrough and a demonstration for Jenny's moves.
This gameplay showcase consists of around six minutes of combat and ends by showing off the other two characters, Hugh and Rocko' who'll be available later. Neither specific release dates nor gameplay for them have been shown just yet, however.
Today's news comes with a big balance patch that tweaks a few general mechanics, some specific characters, and fixes a handful of bugs.
Over on the Twitter account for the game, the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl devs showed off an alternate costume for Jenny, too, while saying that the other two DLC fighters would similarly get their own alternate outfits and stages to accompany their releases.

The latest DLC for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl follows Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise who was added earlier in the year. Jenny makes 23 characters that are now playable in the Nickelodeon brawler with that total to be brought to 25 once the next two are added.
Hugh Neutron and Jenny Wakeman have been two of the most requested characters to be added to the game. The campaign for the addition of Hugh even caught the attention of the character's voice actor Mark DeCarlo, who backed the move and said he would be happy to provide voice lines.
Rocko’s inclusion is not that much of a surprise, given he was part of a datamine that happened last year. However, said datamine also had other characters that haven’t yet made it into the game (like Avatar: The Last Airbender's Prince Zuko, Rugrats' Tommy Pickles, and SpongeBob SquarePants' Mr. Krabs, to name a few), and one that has (Shredder), and also didn’t list Jenny or Hugh. But this does track, as Ludosity’s Thaddeus Crews said on the title’s Discord server the datamined information was in the game just in case those characters did make it in and are not the “be-all-end-all confirmations of what can and cannot happen.”
The game’s future beyond characters is unclear, but Fair Play Labs did state that cross-play was coming (which has seemingly been delayed) and teased that voice acting was in the works.
