Alaya “That Girl Lay Lay” High has been nominated in the "Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited-Series)" category of this year's NAACP Image Awards for portraying That Girl Lay Lay in her self-titled sitcom. Joining That Girl Lay Lay in the category is Tyler Perry's Young Dylan star Celina Smith, who has been nominated for playing the titular character in NBC's Annie Live!.
Meanwhile, actor and voice actor Cree Summer has been nominated for the "Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (Television)" award for reprising her beloved character Susie Carmichael in Nickelodeon and Paramount+'s Rugrats reboot! Cree is joined in the category by Nickelodeon alum Keke Palmer (True Jackson, VP) for portraying Rochelle in Netflix's Big Mouth animated comedy.

This year’s nominees were announced in a virtual event on the NAACP Awards’ Instagram channel hosted by actor-musician Kyla Pratt, Black-ish actor Marcus Scribner and singer-songwriter Tinashe.
The 53rd NAACP Image Awards, set to be hosted by returning emcee Anthony Anderson, will take place without an in-person audience due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The live televised ceremony will air on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. Additional winners will also be unveiled on Feb. 21-23 in streaming presentations on NAACPImageAwards.net and during the Image Awards dinner, held on Friday, Feb. 25, in Los Angeles.
Members of the public can vote, through Feb. 5, for this year’s winners on NAACPImageAwards.net.
