Nickelodeon to Premiere More New 'Power Rangers Dino Fury' Episodes From September 18

The wait is nearly over! Nickelodeon will start to premiere more brand new episodes of Power Rangers Dino Fury season one, the latest instalment of the iconic Power Rangers franchise from Saturday, September 18 at 8:00 a.m. ET/PT!


Adapted from the Japanese Super Sentai series Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, the 28th season of Power Rangers features morphinominal battle footage with an all-new cast of dynamic heroes, evil villains and imagination-defying monsters.

Nickelodeon premiered the first eight episodes of Power Rangers Dino Fury earlier this year before the show went on its annual mid-season hiatus. However, some of the new episodes have already made their debut in the U.S. on Netflix, who added the first half of season one in June.

It's speculated that Power Rangers Dino Fury season one may be the last season of Power Rangers to air on Nickelodeon, with season two rumored to be moving to Netflix. This is currently unconfirmed, however. The future of the Power Rangers is also currently unclear, with Hasbro revealing earlier this year that they plan to reinvent the franchise.


In Power Rangers Dino Fury, an army of powerful alien beings is unleashed on Earth threatening life as we know it, and a brand-new team of Power Rangers, fueled by the pre-historic power of the dinosaurs, are recruited to deal with the threat.

In the first new episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury, "Cut Off", the Ranger teens go camping, and Ollie (Kai Moya) is teased for bringing all his tech gadgets along. But when the teens get in trouble, his savvy use of tech might be their only hope. (#1109)

About: Zayto is an alien from the planet Rafkon. He has been on Earth since the time of the dinosaurs, frozen in stasis. After he is revived, he leads the Dino Fury Power Rangers in the hopes of stopping the evil forces that destroyed his planet from destroying Earth.

Blue’s Clues & You! host Josh Dela Cruz chatted with KTLA 5 Morning news about Nickelodeon's plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Nickelodeon's beloved preschool series, including bringing back the two former hosts - Steve Burns and Donovan Patton - to celebrate the occasion. He also talked about an untitled upcoming film!




The upcoming Blue’s Clues & You! movie will follow Josh and Blue as they skidoo from their storybook land into the real world and head to New York City to audition for a big Broadway musical - Rainbow Puppies. During the interview, Josh revealed that the movie, which wrapped filming in New York City last week, will have amazing music, choreography and guests. Among the NYC filming locations the movie utilized was Central Park.

YTV Canada Premieres 'Middlemost Post'

YTV in Canada will premiere Nickelodeon's brand new animated series Middlemost Post on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. ET/PT! When a reformed raincloud teams up with a shipwrecked sea-postman and a magic walrus, the three form the Middlemost Post — the wackiest and most loveable postal service on Mt. Middlemost.


Marking Nickelodeon’s first original animated series in five years, Middlemost Post hails from SpongeBob SquarePants’ alum John Trabbic III and follows a former rain cloud, a brawny mailman and their magical pet walrus as they deliver packages to the unusual inhabitants of Mount Middlemost. The series combines quirky characters with hilarious adventures and unwavering friendship.

The Middlemost Post voice cast includes Becky Robinson (Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts) as Parker J. Cloud, an exuberant, relentlessly kind, overly eager, and most of all, pliable cloud who’s desire is to spread cheer; John DiMaggio (Futurama) as Angus Roy Shackelton, Parker’s boss and proprietor of the Middlemost Post; Kiren (Raising Hope) as Lily, Parker’s best friend and master inventor;  Colton Dunn (Superstore) as Mayor Peeve, the petty Mayor of the city of Somewhere locked in a petty, one-sided feud with Angus; and Johnny Pemberton (In the Loop) as Ryan, Mayor Peeve’s loyal assistant.


Middlemost Post is created and co-executive produced by John Trabbic III. Dave Johnson serves as co-executive producer and story editor for Middlemost Post, with production overseen by Kelley Gardner, Vice President, Current Series, Animation, Nickelodeon.

Middlemost Post made its world premiere on Nickelodeon USA on July 9, and will debut on Nicktoons in the U.K. and Ireland during Autumn 2021. Nickelodeon to Premiere 'Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years' on September 10

Nickelodeon will be premiere Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, the brand new spin-off from the network's iconic animated series SpongeBob SquarePants on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT! Following launch, new episodes will air every Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on Nick.


Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years is the first-ever SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff. The CG-animated prequel series follows 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants and his pals during summer sleepaway camp where they spend their time building underwater campfires, catching wild jellyfish and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral. Season one will have 26 episodes.

Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years features Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) reprising their iconic roles. Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko's Modern Life, The Casagrandes) and Kate Higgins (Blaze and the Monster Machines) join as new characters Nobby and Narlene, narwhal siblings who live in the woods surrounding the camp.


Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years made its world premiere on Paramount+ in the U.S., Latin America and Brazil in March 2021.

Nickelodeon is bringing magic to life with That Girl Lay Lay, an all-new buddy comedy series premiering Thursday, Sept. 23, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT). That Girl Lay Lay follows Lay Lay (Alaya “That Girl Lay Lay” High), an avatar from a personal affirmation app that magically comes to life, and her best friend Sadie (Gabrielle Nevaeh Green) as they navigate life as teenagers and discover who they truly are.

In the premiere of That Girl Lay Lay, Sadie wishes upon a star that her hype-girl avatar, Lay Lay, were real, causing Lay Lay to magically come to life. Now that she is in the real world with Sadie, Lay Lay decides that she wants a teenage experience herself and enrolls in the local school. Using her innate charm, Lay Lay convinces Sadie that she needs to come out of her shell and the best way for her to stand out is to run for student council.

That Girl Lay Lay follows Lay Lay, an avatar from a phone app, and Sadie, a girl who is struggling to make her mark in school and in need of a best friend to talk to. After Sadie wishes upon a star that her hype-girl avatar Lay Lay was real, she magically comes to life, and the two friends learn that when they are together, they can accomplish anything. That Girl Lay Lay also stars Peyton Perrine III as Sadie’s brother, Marky; Tiffany Daniels as Sadie’s mom, Trish; Thomas Hobson as Sadie’s dad, Bryce; and Caleb Brown as Lay Lay and Sadie’s classmate, Jeremy.

The series marks Nickelodeon’s first project under an overall deal with That Girl Lay Lay to develop original multiform programming and music initiatives, and build a cross-category consumer products business. In addition to her new comedy series, Nickelodeon’s comprehensive strategy for That Girl Lay Lay includes supporting her music career and an exclusive line of consumer products, with merchandising agreements spanning categories such as softlines, toy, publishing and more.


That Girl Lay Lay is produced by Will Packer Media (Bigger), with Will Packer (Little, Ride Along) and Carolyn Newman serving as executive producers and Toy Monique Hawkins and Peggy Cheng overseeing. Nickelodeon is commemorating 25 years of its groundbreaking animated series Blue’s Clues with the greenlight of a brand-new, original movie and an array of anniversary initiatives across multiple platforms. Celebrating one of the most iconic preschool series of all time, which launched on Sept. 8, 1996, the milestone anniversary will also be marked by a multitiered partnership with global nonprofit organization Save the Children, a TV tentpole event, a one-of-a-kind nostalgia-driven music video, exclusive consumer products programs and more, kicking off this summer.


As part of the anniversary celebration, Nickelodeon has greenlit a Blue’s Clues & You! movie that will follow Josh and Blue as they head to New York City to audition for a big Broadway musical. Matt Stawski (Side Effects) is onboard as director of the original as-yet-untitled movie, with writing by Angela C. Santomero (Blue’s Clues franchise, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood) and Liz Maccie (Siren, Foxglove). Darlene Caamaño Loquet, Senior Vice President of Nickelodeon Movies, will oversee the production on the film. Nickelodeon Animation Studio will commence production on the movie this summer, with additional details to be announced at a later date.

Nickelodeon has also expanded its partnership with Save the Children, the national leader in helping children prepare for and succeed in school across rural America. In the episode, it’s time to make a wish and blow out the candles, because Blue and her friends are celebrating the birthday of the viewer at home. DJ Slip is spinning the tracks, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper are baking up a cake, and everyone is playing Blue's Clues to figure out what game Blue wants to play at the party. To celebrate the big day, Blue and her friends play 'Pin the Tail on the Puppy' and skidoo to Birthday World to gather prizes to fill a birthday piñata.

- Blue’s Clues & You! "Our New Neighbor," premiering Friday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. (ET/PT) and featuring the return of classic fan-favorite character Periwinkle. Josh and Blue play Blue’s Clues to figure out how they can help Periwinkle feel welcome and learn more about their new kitten neighbor along the way, helping him unpack and even skidooing to his old neighborhood to retrieve his missing stuffie.

  • An original 25th anniversary nostalgia-driven music video featuring Blue’s Clues & You! star Josh Dela Cruz and former Blue’s Clues hosts, Donovan Patton and Steve Burns, alongside real-life fans from various generations who grew up on the series. Burns also serves as director of the video.
  • A limited-time, dedicated “Bluetique” at FAO Schwarz’s NYC flagship location in Rockefeller Plaza. For the month of August, the exclusive shop will feature the latest products while showcasing archival Blues Clue's memorabilia, such as Steve’s original rugby shirt, the original Handy Dandy Notebook and more.

New 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Movies Will Feature CG Animation; New Series Teased

In the last year, Avatar: The Last Airbender has enjoyed a surge of growth like never before. The hit animated series has long been considered one of the greatest Nickelodeon shows to ever debut, and its resurgence has given the franchise new life. Now, the team at ViacomCBS wants to bring Avatar back to the forefront at Nickelodeon, and its first films will adopt a new style of animation along the way.


Recently, fans were given this important update on Nickelodeon's plans for Avatar when Brian Robbins, the president and CEO of the network, spoke with Nick's parent company ViacomCBS in a public interview. It was there the executive confirmed plans for the Avatar Universe are in working behind the scenes. And when it comes to the movies, Avatar will adopt CG animation this time around.

"One of the other big projects that we're working on, on the theatrical front is Avatar," Robbins shared. "We signed a deal to bring the original creators of Avatar back into the studios. They started Avatar Studios, and they're well on their way in development on a series of CG films and a new Avatar series."

Continuing, Robbins went on to discuss the talent being brought in for the expansion of Avatar. Not only is Avatar Studios being headed by the story's co-creators, but many animators who worked on the original show have shown interest in returning to the series. Robbins says Nickelodeon wants to be a place that fosters such loyalty, and animation remains a key concern for any of its shows in development.

"We really pride ourselves in making sure that Nick is a place people want to work, that creative people want to work, especially in the animation studio. Ramsay Naito, who is the president of Nick Animation, she's just somebody that is really loved in the animation community and people actually really love Nick," he shared.

"They have something in their heart where they really do want to work here on the animation side or on the live-action side for this brand. People grew up on certain shows. They have fond memories of the brand and they want to do business with us."

As you can see, Nickelodeon has plenty of plans in store for its future slate, and Avatar is a very important piece of it. So far as movies are concerned, the Avatar Studios team will delve into CG animation as a first, and fans are eager to see how the crew handles this shift. After all, Avatar's anime-inspired aesthetic is still widely praised, but even anime itself has embraced CG animation. So for now, fans will have to cross their fingers for the best!

In ViacomCBS' Streaming On series, host Dometi Pongo speaks to the leaders in streaming across ViacomCBS. In this episode, Pongo interviews Brian Robbins, President and CEO of Nickelodeon and Chief Content Officer, kids and family for Paramount, about the company's deep library of IP and franchises for kids and families and the strategy around reaching the youngest consumers of content.


Streaming On - BRIAN ROBBINS ON PRIORITIZING KIDS & FAMILY CONTENT ACROSS PLATFORMS

“Consumption and viewing habits have changed for everybody—maybe even more so for kids.”
The PAW Patrol universe got bigger on Aug. 20 when PAW Patrol: The Movie arrived in theaters nationwide and on ViacomCBS’ streaming service, Paramount+. The film—an extension of the number one series for preschoolers, PAW Patrol, which first aired on Nickelodeon in 2013—was the first to follow that release strategy since the launch of Paramount+. Within days, it became one of the most-watched originals on the service.

Brian Robbins, president and CEO of Nickelodeon and chief content officer of kids and family for Paramount+, attributes the success to the company’s focus on iconic IP and franchises. It’s also a testament to its goal of reaching kids and family viewers, no matter the platform. The leading content on Paramount+ includes SpongeBob SquarePants, The SpongeBob Movie and the SpongeBob spin-off Kamp Koral, as well as a new iCarly and PAW Patrol. The franchise-building will continue with the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film being produced by Seth Rogen and the planned expansion of the Avatar universe. “The idea is to leverage that IP and those franchises [from Nickelodeon] to drive consumption on Paramount+ for kids and families,” says Robbins. “We want our brand and our content to be ubiquitous,” he adds. “Today, that means we need to be on all platforms.”

In an interview from the ViacomCBS video series “Streaming On,” Robbins shared how the company is programming for kids and families and shared some new content that will be available on Paramount+ over the next few years. Below is a condensed version of Robbins’ chat with “Streaming On” host Dometi Pongo.

Dometi Pongo: What's the role of kids and family content at Paramount+?

Brian Robbins: Streaming has become the focus of all media companies and it’s no different here at ViacomCBS. Fortunately for us and Paramount+, we have a brand in Nickelodeon that has been loved by kids and families for over two decades now. The brand is loved because it has a treasure trove of tremendous IP and big franchises that are really important in kids' lives. The idea is to leverage that IP and those franchises to drive consumption in Paramount+ for kids and families.

DP: How does streaming play into the evolution of that Nickelodeon?

BR: It’s really important. It's no shock that consumption has changed and viewing habits have changed for everybody—maybe even more so for kids. I have a 7-year-old daughter, streaming is the way she consumes content and it's not necessarily on the big screen either. It could be on a phone and it's certainly on a tablet. We want our brand and our content to be ubiquitous. Today, that means we need to be on all platforms. Linear is still our biggest reach vehicle today. I assume five years from now, it'll be very different and streaming will probably be the primary way that our consumer consumes our content. Kids and family content content is driving an enormous amount of consumption on [Paramount+].

DP: What is some of the top performing kids and family content on the platform?

BR: We've just launched a massive hit in iCarly—and we strategically licensed the old iCarly just one or two seasons to other streaming services, and then we put the whole iCarly library on Paramount+. So by the time the new iCarly was about to come, there had been this new interest, demand, and love for iCarly. With all that buzz, the new show just took off like a rocket ship. 

DP: Can you talk about the decision to release PAW Patrol: The Movie on Paramount and in theaters simultaneously?

BR: Unfortunately, we're still living in this Covid world and theaters are not yet running at full capacity. I don't think people are running out to the movie theater and especially when it comes to kids. It just felt like we needed to give the consumer a choice. If you want to see the movie in a movie theater and have that experience, you're going to be able to get that. Probably most of the consumers and kids are going to watch this movie at home and that's a good thing for Paramount+ and a good thing for all of us at ViacomCBS, because we have a killer movie that is really playing great.

DP: PAW Patrol is a powerhouse franchise across linear, streaming, live events, and consumer products. What is it about that franchise that makes it so unique?

BR: It's the pups—the pups are cool. They all have these really fun, different, and diverse characters. They have super cool vehicles that do crazy things that allow kids to just use their imagination. Underneath it, there's also a social and emotional learning element as well. Parents and kids both dig it. It's a great franchise and we have a great partnership with Spin Master.

DP: It's the #1 show for preschoolers — when you hear a stat like that, how does it make you feel about being able to provide something that young children are going to grow up with?

BR: Well, the first thing I think about is ‘how do we stay #1?’ We have a big responsibility at Nickelodeon that is different from most other media brands. We really do have a responsibility to not only entertain, but to educate and hopefully grow really smart, well-rounded changemakers. That's the way I look at it. If we could develop the next generation of changemakers and kids that are really aware and socially conscious, that's an important part of what we do. That's why we brought back Nick News this year. And we've done a lot of specials over the course of the last year in this unprecedented, crazy time that we've been living in. We're really proud of the work that we do in that area and that work will continue to do.

DP: You have an ambitious film slate across theatrical and streaming, can you talk a little bit about the kids and family movie strategy on Paramount+ and how that fits into ViacomCBS’ overall movie strategy?

BR: In my previous role before I came to Nick, I was running Paramount Players at Paramount Pictures. My role there was to really make branded films for Paramount Pictures from the Viacom brands. And Nickelodeon was the top priority and the first film that came out of that was our Dora the Explorer movie. But now that I'm here, I'm just taking that torch with me. We're really excited about the slate we've built, starting with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reinvention that's being produced by Seth Rogen. I saw a first animation of the movie last week and it's going to be amazing. It's hysterical. Quality matters more than ever now. We have to deliver quality and we're really excited about Turtles as a franchise in general. And one of the other big projects that we're working on, on the theatrical front is Avatar. We signed a deal to bring the original creators of Avatar back into the studios. They started Avatar Studios, and they're well on their way in development on a series of CG films and a new Avatar series. The other area that is under our group that I'm really excited about on the film front is the young adult space. In my former life, I was the founder and CEO of Awesomeness TV, where we were responsible for films like To All the Boys I Loved Before, a franchise on Netflix, and The Perfect Date. We have a long history of making really great YA content and we're going to make a handful of those films for Paramount+ that start hitting in 2022. Another film we’re working on is in collaboration with LeBron James and his production company, SpringHill, called Fantasy Football.

DP: You talked about bringing the creators of Avatar back for more projects — how is your team attracting talent?

BR: We really pride ourselves in making sure that Nick is a place people want to work, that creative people want to work, especially in the animation studio. Ramsay Naito, who is the president of Nick Animation, she's just somebody that is really loved in the animation community and people actually really love Nick. They have something in their heart where they really do want to work here on the animation side or on the live-action side for this brand. People grew up on certain shows. They have fond memories of the brand and they want to do business with us.

ViacomCBS: Reeling it In

ViacomCBS is leveraging its roster popular of IPs in new ways for growth.

When it comes to connecting with audiences of kids and adults, there’s no question that Nickelodeon has an impressive stable of treasured intellectual property. Optimizing the reach of its IPs across new platforms and in product categories promises to up the game in big ways. 

“At ViacomCBS, franchises are a driving force behind our business, our brands and our 

retail programs,” says Veronica Hart, executive vice president, global franchise planning, ViacomCBS Consumer Products. “Nickelodeon has the most beloved and recognizable characters and some of the biggest consumer products franchises in the world, including ‘SpongeBob SquarePants,’ ‘Star Trek, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,’ ‘PAW Patrol’ and many more.” 

Hart points to the company’s new Paramount+ streaming service, along with linear, digital and other channels to reach consumers. New offerings include an expanded “SpongeBob SquarePants” universe; the first kids-oriented animated “Star Trek” series, “Star Trek: Prodigy;” a new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie with actor Seth Rogan; and the coming theatrical release of “PAW Patrol: The Movie.” 

“Our team is so enthusiastic about the massive potential of our expanded preschool slate and the expansion of our multigenerational and boys-action content that is being developed for a new generation of kids and fans,” says Hart.
