Netflix UK & Ireland will be adding Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures' live-action movie based on Nickelodeon's beloved animated preschool series Dora the Explorer, to its programming library on Friday 9th July 2021!
After delighting kids of all ages with her small screen adventures, Dora the Explorer finally leapt out of animation and into the live-action world with Paramount Pictures, Paramount Players and Nickelodeon Movies' 2019 feature film Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Starring Nickelodeon alum Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School, Dora & Friends: Into the City, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Transformers: The Last Knight) as the titular hero, the all-star cast also included Michael Pena and Eva Longoria as Doraâs explorer parents. And if the voices of Boots the monkey and Swiper the fox sound familiar, thatâs because theyâre Danny Trejo and Benicio del Toro! In August 2012, as Nickelodeon's hit comedy series iCarly was nearing its original five-season run, Nickelodeon announced that the network planned to produce two spin-off series: Sam & Cat, starring Jennette McCurdy and Victorious' Ariana Grande, who reprised their famed characters Sam Puckett and Cat Valentine, respectively; and Gibby, starring iCarly series regular Noah Munck in which he reprised his role of Gibby.
As we all know, Sam & Cat got the greenlight to become a full series, however, Gibby unfortunately never got past the pilot stage.
Created by iCarly, Victorious and Sam & Cat creator Dan Schneider, Gibby would have featured Gibby getting a new job at The Bixby (aka The Bix), a recreational center where kids of all ages hang out, socialize, play sports and take unique classes. Gibby becomes a mentor to four quirky middle-schoolers, helping them break out of their shells and embrace life in true "Gibbehhh" style. The unaired pilot was filmed during summer 2012.

Not much was known about Gibby since Nickelodeon decided not to pursue the show. However, the script for the pilot episode has now become available on Archive.org!
