The Patrick Star Show Theme Song is now available on the upcoming Mega Music Fest Album!
Dropping on Friday 7/16 on all major streaming platforms!

The Patrick Star Show is the second spinoff of the number-one animated series SpongeBob SquarePants and follows a younger Patrick Star living at home with his family, where he hosts his own variety show for the neighborhood from his television-turned-bedroom. In the premiere episode, “Late for Breakfast,” Patrick presents a show about food after missing out on a hearty breakfast. Then in “Bummer Jobs,” Patrick and SpongeBob experience the wonders of the workforce.

Longtime voice of Patrick Star, Bill Fagerbakke lends his voice as the young adult Patrick alongside new cast members: Tom Wilson (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Cecil Star, Patrick’s fun-loving, happy-go-lucky dad who always puts his family first;  Cree Summer (Rugrats) as Bunny Star, Patrick’s loving, sea star mom who is a kooky oddball; Jill Talley (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Squidina Star, Patrick’s 8-year-old little sister who drinks her coffee from a sippy cup; and Dana Snyder (The Penguins of Madagascar, The Thundermans, Welcome to the Wayne) as GrandPat Star, Patrick’s genius grandpa, and the most intelligent member of the Star family. Summer also voices Grandma Tentacles, Squidward’s grandma.

Additional cast members include veteran actors Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton).

Marc Ceccarelli (SpongeBob SquarePants), Vincent Waller (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Jennie Monica (SpongeBob SquarePants) are co-executive producers of the series.  The Patrick Star Show is developed for television by Claudia Spinelli, SVP of Animation Development, Nickelodeon, with production overseen by Kelley Gardner, Vice President, Current Series, Animation, Nickelodeon.

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, new episodes of The Patrick Star Show will continue to rollout Friday nights on Nickelodeon and debut internationally in the fall.

The Patrick Star Show: Exclusive Show Open Introduces the Starfish Family (Exclusive)

We've got an exclusive clip of The Patrick Star Show's show open—watch the SpongeBob SquarePants universe grow with the sea star's own spinoff show, revealing new family members and more!

Who lives in a coffee pot under the sea? Patrick Star, apparently….

In case you haven’t already heard, everyone’s favorite sea echinoderm is getting his own spinoff show! Longtime neighbor and best friend to SpongeBob SquarePants is ditching his classic under-a-rock abode and is changing scenery to spend time with his sea star family! And while there might be some retconning involved with Patrick’s kin, we don’t need to dive deep into the specifics of SpongeBob canon, do we?

Our friends at Nickelodeon have provided us an exclusive first look at the brand new open for The Patrick Star Show! Let’s take a look….

The intro gets straight to business with Patrick announcing, “Hi I’m Patrick Star, and I live with my parents!” as he proceeds to slam his arm when he closes the door. Patrick’s appearance has changed slightly from his SpongeBob days, mainly with his fashion choices. The normally shirtless starfish is seen dawning a button-up Hawaiian shirt with a similar pattern to his iconic shorts. However, his shorts are different this time around, sporting a plain purple look.

In the new show open, Patrick introduces us to more members of the Star-clan — notably different from the starfish we saw in Season 2’s episode, “I’m With Stupid.” Patrick’s dad is seen fishing in a small fishbowl on their living room table as he somehow manages to catch a sentient toilet with sharp teeth, showcasing the bizarre and zany humor SpongeBob SquarePants is so famously known for.

The open also offers a glimpse of Patrick’s mother who’s creatively preparing the entirety of a steak dinner in a toaster. Yet another new character is introduced: Patrick’s camera-shy little sister, who appears to be a squid instead of a starfish as she inks up the screen. Why is she not the same species, you may ask? We don’t have the answer as of now, and if Mr. Krabs’ whale daughter Pearl is any indication, we might not ever get any explanation. Finally, we get a brief look at Patrick’s grandpa doing circles on a scooter indoors, not exactly ideal for home maintenance.

Patrick concludes the show open by revealing the audience to his room and exclaiming, “This is my show!” right before the title card appears. And if you were worried SpongeBob wouldn’t make an appearance here, no need to fret. A younger version of the Nickelodeon icon can be seen in the bottom left corner cheering Patrick on as he embarks on his first solo adventure.

The all-new series follows a younger Patrick Star living at home with his family, where he hosts his own variety show for the neighborhood from his television-turned-bedroom.

The Patrick Star Show theme song is composed by Ego Plum with lyrics by Mr. Lawrence (who voices Plankton on SpongeBob). Series composers include Sage Guyton, Jeremy Wakefield and Nicolas Carr, who also serves as music editor. The theme song from the show’s opening will be available on Nickelodeon’s upcoming “Mega Music Fest Album”, releasing on Friday July 16. The 10-track album will be available on all major streaming platforms and include tunes from series such as, The Loud House, Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, The Casagrandes, Side Hustle and more.

The Patrick Star Show is the second SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff after the CGI-animated Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years premiered on Paramount+ earlier this year. Longtime voice of Patrick, Bill Fagerbakke, continues to voice SpongeBob’s dimwitted buddy. Tom Wilson (SpongeBob SquarePants) plays Cecil Star, Patrick’s fun-loving, happy-go-lucky dad who always puts his family first; Cree Summer (Rugrats) plays Bunny Star, Patrick’s loving, sea star mom who is a kooky oddball; Jill Talley (SpongeBob SquarePants) plays Squidina Star, Patrick’s 8-year-old little sister who drinks her coffee from a sippy cup; and Dana Snyder (The Penguins of Madagascar) plays GrandPat Star, Patrick’s genius grandpa, and the most intelligent member of the Star family. Summer also voices Grandma Tentacles, Squidward’s grandma. SpongeBob voice actors like Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) will also appear

The Patrick Star Show premieres Friday, July 9, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

Philece Sampler, Voice of Toph Beifong on 'The Legend of Korra' Passes Away at 67

Philece Sampler, star on series such as The Legend of Korra and Digimon Adventure, has passed at the age of 67.

Sean Smith/JPI

Sampler was a notable actor in the world of animation, but before that she had a number of notable roles in the world of daytime television with stints on programs like Days of Our Lives, Rituals and Another World.

As announced by her former Another World castmate Nelson Aspen on Instagram, Sampler has passed away from a heart attack just before she turned 68 years old. Many animation fans will also recognize her work.

Sampler most notably provided the voice for Mimi Tachikawa in the English dubbed version of the Digimon Adventure franchise, and provided her voice all the way through Mimi's most recently English dub appearance in the Digimon Adventure tri. Sampler's work extended to a number of other characters in the franchise as well such as Cody Hida.

Toph Beifong in The Legend of Korra. Nickelodeon.

Philece Sampler also provided the voice behind roles such as the older Toph Beifong we meet in the Avatar: The Last Airbender sequel The Legend of Korra, Hiyori Tamura in Lucky Star, Lori in Zatch Bell, Tsuruko Aoyama in Love Hina, Beauty in Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Mead in The Seven Deadly Sins and more. You can read a list of her credits on IMDb.

Aspen's statement about Sampler's passing can be found below:

"Heartbroken to receive the call today that my dear friend, Philece Sampler, has passed away from a heart attack, just shy of her 68th birthday. That explains why I didn’t hear from her yesterday on my own birthday: we always celebrated as Cancerian siblings. She was an amazingly energetic, loving and loyal friend. I first met Philece in 1987 when we were both working on 'Another World.' She joined the cast after successful runs on 'Days of Our Lives' and the primetime serial 'Rituals.' When I moved to LA in 1990, she generously let me live in her beautiful Hollywood Hills home and we became even closer.

So close, in fact, that we wrote several screenplays together and bred beautiful Abyssinian cats. I think that over the decade of the ‘90s, I spent more time with Philece than anyone else. She was as wickedly funny as she was vivacious. Philece was always A complete original! She went on to a very successful Voice Over career and was always hopeful that 'Days of Our Lives' would invite her back. Shame on them for not doing so. She was a fan favorite and one of the most hard working, diligent people I’ve ever known.

She gave 1000% to anything she did. In a fickle business like Entertainment, I’m proud that we stayed so close right up to the very end of her life. Cherish your loved ones every moment, folks. The last time we saw each other in person was right before the Covid lockdown in February of last year. I was performing my cabaret show in Los Angeles at Rockwell. Always supportive, she was there and I surprised her by singing the 'Another World' theme and bringing her on stage with me. We were both in tears by the end of the song!

Philece was convinced she was the reincarnation of Anne Askew, an English writer and poet who had been put to death during the reign of Henry VIII. So I am going to be keeping a sharp eye out in case she comes back as someone new. If anyone can do it, SHE can! Farewell for now, my funny and fabulous friend and 'sister from another mister.' Rest in Peace."

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Philece Sampler's family, friends, and loves ones in this tough time.

R.I.P. Philece Sampler, July 14, 1953 - July 2, 2021
