MIAMI (February 10, 2021) – Fans of SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and PAW Patrol get ready: Karisma Hotels & Resorts is opening Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya in June 2021. Beginning today, travelers can book accommodations at Mexico’s first Nickelodeon Resort, featuring one of the largest water attractions in Mexico and all ocean-front swim-up suites, accommodating families of five, for the ultimate family beach escape. Nickelodeon UK & Ireland will be premiering Side Hustle, Nickelodeon's brand-new live-action buddy comedy starring social media sensations and real-life best friends, Jules LeBlanc and Jayden Bartels on Monday 22nd February 2021!

Side Hustle follows best friends, smart and sarcastic Lex (LeBlanc) and confident and tough Presley (Bartels), as they devise a plan to make money when fireworks accidentally destroy a boat belonging to the dad of their quirky friend and neighbor, Munchy (Isaiah Crews). Created and executive produced by Dave Malkoff (Henry Danger, Sam & Cat, Victorious) and shot in front of a live studio audience, Side Hustle season one (20 half-hour episodes) is being shot in Los Angeles.


Forced to come up with creative ways to earn money to pay for the damages, Lex, Presley and Munchy enlist the help of Presley’s tech-savvy younger brother, Fisher (Mitchell Berg), who creates an app to connect with people looking for help with small jobs, and Munchy’s bossy older brother Jaget (Jacques Chevelle), who makes sure they keep up with the payments.

“Annie and Jayden are two massively talented stars who kids adore, and we think our audience is going to love seeing them in their own show on Nick,” said Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Live-Action Scripted Content. “Side Hustle is a new take on the classic buddy comedy, full of wild and hilarious adventures for our unique cast of characters.”

In the premiere episode, “Start Hustling” (#101), the kids get into a jam after accidentally setting a boat on fire. Needing money, they get a job as living mannequins at a fancy store. The kids are excited until they discover they’ll be modeling itchy wool outfits. After spending hours itching and posing, they hatch a plan to close the store early.


LeBlanc is an actress and singer who first came to social prominence in her family’s YouTube channel, “Bratayley.” She has since amassed over 27 million followers across her own social media platforms, and can be seen starring in Brat’s hit YouTube series Chicken Girls and A Girl Named Jo, and the YouTube Red Originals series We Are Savvy. As a singer LeBlanc’s had six songs in the Top Ten iTunes Pop charts, and two Top 50 Billboard Chart hits. She recently won “Choice Music Web Star” at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards, “Muser of the Year” at the 2018 Shorty Awards, and is currently nominated for “Favorite Female Social Star” at the 2020 Kids’ Choice Awards. In 2019, LeBlanc joined the Nickelodeon family starring in Annie vs. Hayley, a digital competition show with her younger sister Hayley, and co-hosted Camp Nick alongside Bartels.

Bartels is a singer, actress and dancer who has made a name for herself both on camera and on the stage. Having written and arranged every song she’s released, she debuted her first EP titled “What Really Matters?” last year and released her most recent single “Gameboy” earlier this month. She’s currently on tour opening for pop rock band Echosmith across the U.S., and she went out on a European tour with English singing duo Max & Harvey in 2019. She has a following of almost 12 million across her social media platforms, as well as over 1.6 billion likes on TikTok. On screen, Bartels has played a recurring role Disney Channel’s Coop & Cami Ask the World and lead in the films To The Beat! and its’ upcoming sequel, To The Beat! Back 2 School. She can also be seen in episodes of Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, Showtime’s Kidding and CBS’s Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

LeBlanc and Bartels co-hosted Nickelodeon's virtually-produced Group Chat during summer 2020, which ranked as the number-one unscripted live-action show on cable with kids 6-11 in the second quarter of 2020. Bartels later teamed up with social media star Brent Rivera for season two, which aired during Fall 2020 on Nick. Group Chat is currently airing on Nick UK & Eire.

John Beck & Ron Hart (Knight SquadFuller House, Liv and Maddie) serve as executive producers and showrunners. Production of Side Hustle for Nickelodeon is overseen by Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Live-Action Scripted Content. 'Power Rangers Dino Fury' Season 2 Announced

Following Hasbro and Entertainment (eOne) announcing that they had hired producer and director Jonathan Entwistle to shepherd new film and television adaptations of Power Rangers in October last year, many have been wondering about the future of the long-running Power Rangers series, including the upcoming 28th season, Power Rangers Dino Fury.


Although not much is currently known about the future of the iconic and long-running franchise, it's been announced that Power Rangers Dino Fury will be getting a second season, which is currently filming in New Zealand, which will mean that the Power Rangers TV series that fans know and love will at least have 29 seasons!

Speaking to KHON2, Kaneohe, Oahu (Hawai'i) boy Kainalu Moya, who plays Ollie the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Fury, revealed “[i]t’s six days a week, usually about 12 hours of filming or more”.

Before jumping on set and memorizing lines, Moya’s role took on some extra morphing time.

“We had about two and a half weeks of stunt intensive training. We just worked every day on how to block without getting hurt, how to tumble, flip, and do all those kind of things. Your body would just be so sore at the end of the day. Then you would wake up and do it again the next morning.”

The Castle High School graduate says this is all a dream turned reality and he wouldn’t be where he is today if he didn’t take a leap of faith.

“I just wanted to do it. I told my parents, they’re like ‘you should go to school first’ and I was like ‘you’re probably right.’ So I went to college for a couple years and I took my first acting class. I liked it and then I was just like, this is what I want, I’m going to go and pursue it.”


This power ranger knows all too well about fighting fears of the unknown and battling through obstacles.

“I went to Los Angeles and did audition after audition and wasn’t really getting much. I did a handful of little short films of little independent films. Also, I did one episode on Saved by the Bell, the reboot. This is the first big one, the first series regular, the first main character on a show.”

Moya says he’s ready to not only bring the action and talent to Hollywood, but also a local touch.

“The character that I portray has Hawaii ties like his name and his mom. So it’s really exciting and I can’t wait for the kids back home to see it. I’m happy to represent them and for them to have Hawaiian representation on a children’s superhero show.”

Season one of Power Rangers Dino Fury will premiere on Nickelodeon on Saturday, February 20 at 8:00 a.m. (ET/PT). Fans will also be able to catch Moya as he returns as the blue ranger in season two. The official synopsis of Power Rangers Dino Fury reads:

"In Power Rangers Dino Fury, an army of powerful alien beings is unleashed on Earth threatening life as we know it, and a brand-new team of Power Rangers, fueled by the pre-historic power of the dinosaurs, are recruited to deal with the threat."

'Avatar: The Last Airbender Oh, My Cabbages!' Board Game Now Available

Following the debut of Avatar: The Last Airbender Uncle Iroh's Dream board game last week, a second board game in the Avatar lineup has been discovered - and it's a true dream come true! That's right, we're finally getting a board game based on the fan-favorite character from the series - the cabbage merchant!


In the Avatar: The Last Airbender Oh, My Cabbages! board game, you can play as Aang, Katara, Zuko or the cabbage merchant. Your goal? For those who are unfamiliar, Avatar: The Last Airbender was originally created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for Nickelodeon in 2005. The series is set in world people can manipulate the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air, and they lived peacefully in different regions until one of the regions started a world war.

One master who can manipulate all four elements, dubbed the "Avatar," had been able to prevent this war, but disappeared soon after. 100 years later, a new Avatar named Aang awakens and sets out on a journey to master all the elements in order to bring peace to the land once more. The Legend of Korra takes place takes place 70 years after the events of its predecessor, following the next Avatar, a young girl named Korra from the Southern Water Tribe.

Both show have continued in successful on-going graphic novel series.

Nickelodeon Unveils 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Curse of the Shadows' Intro

NICKELODEON REVEALS ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?: CURSE OF THE SHADOWS OPENING TITLES

Season Two Premiere Episode Debuts Friday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)


HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--Nickelodeon has revealed the opening titles and theme song for the long-awaited season two debut of Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Curse of the Shadows, the beloved horror anthology series based on the '90s kids' cult classic. Produced by ACE Entertainment, the six-part limited series will premiere on Friday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, with new episodes airing every Friday night. The opening credits can be watched below, courtesy of FANGORIA.


In homage to the original intro, the new intro features the familiar creepy theme music from the original, with updated spooky elements, including the tease of an iconic legacy character, Sardo, indicating what's to come!

Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Curse of the Shadows follows an all-new Midnight Society group of kids who learn of the terrifying curse cast over their small seaside town, and are haunted by a mysterious creature known as the Shadowman. In the just-released trailer, viewers are introduced to the new Midnight Society members and get a glimpse at the horrors that await them in the shadows.

The new members of the Midnight Society are: Luke, played by Bryce Gheisar (The Astronauts, Wonder); Jai, played by Arjun Athalye; Hanna, played by Beatrice Kitsos (Child's Play, iZombie); Gabby, played by Malia Baker (The Baby-Sitters Club); Seth, played by Dominic Mariche (The Christmas Yule Blog, A Gift to Cherish); and Connor, played by Parker Queenan (Party of Five, Andi Mack).

Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Curse of the Shadows is produced by ACE Entertainment (To All The Boys I've Loved Before, The Perfect Date) with ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers and Paul Kim as co-executive producer. Jeff Wadlow (Fantasy Island, Truth or Dare) serves as executive producer and the primary director for the series. JT Billings (Beware That Girl, Charming) serves as showrunner and executive producer.

Production of Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Curse of the Shadows for Nickelodeon is overseen by Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Live-Action Scripted Content; and Zack Olin, Senior Vice President, Live Action. Munich, February 9th 2021 – At the turn of the year, Bavaria Sonor Licensing (BSL), a division of Bavaria Media GmbH, took over the licensing mandate for "The Smurfs". The license holder is the Belgian company International Merchandising, Promotion and Services SA (IMPS). The mandate covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Kosovo. BSL sees great licensing potential especially for the fashion, home & living, promotions and food & beverages sectors.

"The Smurfs" first appeared in 1958 in the Belgian magazine "Spirou" as part of a comic series set in the Middle Ages. Today, the blue, dwarf-like characters are represented in all media worldwide. The stories about Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy Smurf and many more have already been told in TV series, radio plays and feature films. Their comics are available in close to 90 countries, and the TV series is broadcast in a hundred countries. Many toy figures have become sought-after collector's items. In the music sector, "The Smurfs" are established as a brand with their own albums and musicals. According to the license holder IMPS, the global brand awareness is 95 percent.

In 2021, for the first time in over 30 years, Peyo’s beloved characters will be making a high-profile TV comeback with a brand-new dynamic 3D series. An explosive package full of adventure and humour for the whole family to enjoy!
