These rappers are two of Nickelodeon’s brightest new stars.
Two of Nickelodeon’s biggest new sensations are teaming up for an epic project. That Girl Lay Lay and Young Dylan are releasing their new single “I’m That” via all major digital streaming platforms.
That Girl Lay Lay otherwise known as 14-year-old Houston native Alaya High, signed her deal with Nickelodeon in 2020 while Young Dylan aka Dylan Gilmer is the star of Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, which follows Dylan in his journey towards music greatness.
The Maya Table-directed music video for the Jermaine Dupri-produced song premiered October 7 during the latest brand new episode of That Girl Lay Lay. The video, in which That Girl Lay Lay also reps Texas in her verses, can be watched on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, NickMusic, Video-on-Demand, Nick App and Pluto TV. Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan airs on Thursday nights at 7pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon, followed by That Girl Lay Lay at 7:30pm ET/PT. Young Dylan can also be seen on NFL Slimetime, every Wednesday at 7pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon!
Lay Lay has also teamed up with Scholastic for a series of activity books, novelty books, journals and more. The deal launches with "That Girl Lay Lay: It’s Time to #Slay," a photographic memoir out Jan. 4. It will recount Lay Lay's journey from viral sensation to TV star. "Bust Your Own Rhymes" follows in February, a guided journal to teach kids how to be confident, learn to slay and write their own raps and rhymes. An original chapter book series will kick off in May.
That Girl Lay Lay ranked as the most co-viewed program of the day in Sept. 30 across all TV among families, with 39-percent of adults ages 18-49 watching with kids ages 6-11.
