Broadband ISP Plusnet has begun to inform existing customers of their YouView (IPTV) powered Pay TV box that they’ve decided to completely close the service from 1st November 2021. Subscribers will be allowed to keep their set-top-box and can continue to use it to watch Freeview channels or to access their players and apps.
The news follows Plusnet TV, which cost an extra £5 per month to take, announcing at the start of the year that the provider would “no longer be taking orders” for it from 19th January 2021. Shortly after that the provider then began informing existing customers that they would stop renewing the service from 7th February.
Nickelodeon Network channels Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Jr. and Nick Jr. Too were available on the platform as part of it's Entertainment bundle. To continue to watch the Nickelodeon channels, customers will need to switch to an alternative programming provider, such as Sky, TalkTalk, Now and BT TV. Programming is also available on iTunes. We are simplifying our product range and from 1st November we will no longer provide YouView TV as part of our broadband service to existing customers. Customers will still to be able to enjoy great content as part of the BT Sport App.”
