Nickelodeon India Starts to Premiere New Episodes of 'Shiva'
100 villains, one hero! Catch brand new episodes of Shiva, weekdays at 11:30 am and 7:00 pm, only on Nickelodeon India!
Though country-wide lockdown has now been lifted, given the spike in COVID-19 (coronavirus) numbers, schools have still not resumed and kids are still enjoying an extended summer vacation. Thus, kids broadcasters like Nickelodeon and others have ordered new episodes and engaging content to keep kids occupied and entertained.
Produced by animation studio Cosmos-Maya and Viacom18, Shiva is one of the most popular television kids shows in India. It revolves around Shiva, a young boy who lives with his grandparents in a fictional city named Vedas in India. He has supernatural powers and fights a lot of villains who are harmful for his city. A policeman named Mr. Laddo Singh, who wants to catch the criminals but finds himself in trouble, is helped by Shiva. Shiva and his friends are always rewarded by the Indian Government for their bravery.
Shiva is now available in eight languages – Hindi, Gujrati, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It also streams on Viacom18 owned VOOT Kids.

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) will be premiering three brand new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants (Bob Esponja) back-to-back, without advertisement breaks on Thursday 25th June 2020 from 18:00! The new episodes will be "Senior Discount", "Shell Games", and "Hóspede Contente", in which SpongeBob finds Squidward's Easter Island Head home covered in a tarp and thinks its a circus, when in fact Squidward's home is infested with sea urchins!

O setor de provedores regionais de internet tem apresentado um crescimento constante nos últimos anos. Os dados da Anatel (Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações) mostram um salto de 2,45 milhões para 9,88 milhões de conexões, entre 2009 e 2019, passando a superar os gigantes do setor em número de assinantes de banda larga, porém, apenas durante os meses de fevereiro e março, as buscas na internet por provedores regionais cresceram 42,8%, de acordo com levantamento feito pelo site Melhor Plano.
A análise também apontou um aumento de 36% nas pesquisas por serviços de TV por Assinatura, demonstrando preferência do público em consumir regionalmente e aponta aos ISPs um campo a ser explorado no mercado, ao oferecer integração de TV aos seus clientes, uma maneira de entregar não apenas mais um serviço, mas também de fidelizar o público para que não precise migrar para uma empresa que ofereça TV e internet.
A mesma pesquisa também aponta para o crescimento da audiência individual de canais de TV por assinatura durante a pandemia. O consumo de canais de entretenimento, por exemplo, avançou 36% com atrações como reality-shows e programas infantis na liderança da audiência. Os canais da programadora Viacom, Comedy Central e Nickelodeon demonstraram um crescimento de 80% desde 16 março entre pessoas 18 a 49 anos.
A programação da Viacom pode alavancar os negócios dos ISPs brasileiros, levando não apenas a audiência dos canais, mas atrelando a força das marcas ao nome dos provedores regionais através da MultTv, líder nacional em compartilhamento de headend, sistema que diminui os custos com infraestrutura de TV por Assinatura.
Marcelo Pinheiro, diretor da NIPBR, operadora corporativa que passou a atender também o mercado residencial para comercializar TV por Assinatura, conta que atrelar ao ISP marcas de grandes programadoras como Band, CNN Brasil, Viacom gera ainda mais visibilidade aos negócios. “Ter incluído TV por assinatura com a MultTv facilitou muito os processos, é uma solução bem mais acessível e que me proporciona uma maneira de oferecer novos serviços e também de fidelizar meus clientes”, comenta Pinheiro.
Uma das principais vantagens em investir na estrutura de headend compartilhado é o investimento inicial. Enquanto uma operação individual varia entre R$2 a 4 milhões para a estrutura inicial, com o compartilhamento o investimento é de aproximadamente R$100 mil. Além disso, a MultTv leva aos ISPs uma capacitação completa para que equipes e a empresa torne-se multisserviços, oferecendo estrutura de qualidade, todo suporte e treinamento necessário.
“Nossos parceiros têm em média uma adesão de 15%, chegando a 30% em alguns casos, de planos de TV vendidos juntamente com a banda larga. A associação da marca do provedor com programadoras como Disney & ESPN e Viacom alavanca as vendas”, explica Osmir Henrique Petrini, presidente da MultTv.
Estima-se que até o fim do primeiro semestre de 2020 cerca de 40 provedores regionais de internet passem a oferecer o serviço de televisão por assinatura. Por meio do compartilhamento de headend, o produto chega a todo o Brasil com qualidade, por meio de satélite da empresa SES.

Nickelodeon Portugal Celebrates Record Ratings
Nickelodeon Portugal is celebrating record-breaking ratings after becoming the second most-watched children's channel in the country in May 2020 - and was very close to being number-one!
The high-ratings comes just a few months after Nickelodeon launched on the MEO and Vodafone platforms in Portugal. Prior to launching on MEO and Vodafone, Nickelodeon was exclusive to TV operator NOS in the country.
Nickelodeon Portugal saw a ratings increase of 36% over the previous month in May 2020, and 138% over the same period the previous year.
The Portuguese version of the number-one network for kids recorded a record audience share of 6.8% in May in the 4-to-14 year demographic. The top-rating kids channel in the country, Disney Channel scored 7%, falling one percentage point compared to the previous month.
Nickelodeon considers this ratings evolution to show that it has cemented its position in the kids' channel arena, buckling the trends other kids' channels in the country, which has seen ratings decrease.
Nickelodeon Portugal mainly saw a significant ratings increase during its prime,time (8pm-12am). According to GfK/CAEM data, Nickelodeon has been growing its audience share for three consecutive months, obtaining a 1.2% share in the first 22 days of June. In May, the average was 1.2%, and in April it had a 0.8% market share.
Ratings growth on the channel was driven by Nickelodeon's top-rated live-action series, including The Thundermans (24,700 viewers), iCarly (23,300 viewers) and Henry Danger (22,700 viewers).
"These figures confirm that we are on the right track and gives us encouragement to continue working hard on what we offer," said Nickelodeon.
"At Nickelodeon, we always put children first in everything we do and we always try to offer the best content to continue bringing joy and fun to Portuguese homes".

Pouco tempo após a sua chegada à Vodafone e MEO, o Nickelodeon está a bater recordes de audiência. O canal alcançou o segundo lugar entre os canais infanto-juvenis nacionais no mês de maio, muito próximo do primeiro classificado.
Com um crescimento de 36% face ao mês anterior, e de 138% em relação ao período homólogo do ano anterior, o Nickelodeon Portugal registou um share recorde de 6,8% em maio no target dos 4 aos 14 anos. O líder Disney Channel marcou 7%, e recuou um ponto percentual face ao mês anterior.
O canal considera que esta evolução demonstra que cimentou a sua posição neste segmento, contrariando os resultados dos canais do mesmo género, “que decresceram de forma generalizada“.
As audiências do canal melhoraram de forma significativa ao longo de todo o dia, especialmente durante o prime-time (20h-24h). No público em geral, de acordo com os dados da GfK/CAEM, o Nickelodeon está a crescer há três meses consecutivos, tendo obtido 1,2% de share nos primeiros 22 dias de junho. Em maio, a média foi de 1,2%, e em abril tinha sido de 0,8% de quota de mercado.
De acordo com os dados revelados em comunicado, as séries populares de live-action reuniram o maior número de espectadores do canal, como The Thundermans (24,7 mil espectadores), iCarly (23,3 mil espectadores) e Henry Danger (22,7 mil espectadores).
“Já o sabíamos quando demos os importantes passos de entrarmos em dois novos operadores portugueses e estes números vêm confirmar que estamos no caminho certo e dar-nos alento para continuarmos a trabalhar arduamente na nossa oferta”, afirmam.
“No Nickelodeon, colocamos as crianças sempre em primeiro lugar em tudo o que fazemos e procuramos sempre oferecer os melhores conteúdos para continuar a levar alegria e diversão aos lares portugueses”.

Com um crescimento de 36% face ao mês anterior, e de 138% em relação ao período homólogo do ano anterior, o Nickelodeon Portugal registou um share recorde de 6,8% em maio no target dos 4 aos 14 anos. O líder Disney Channel marcou 7%, e recuou um ponto percentual face ao mês anterior.
O canal considera que esta evolução demonstra que cimentou a sua posição neste segmento, contrariando os resultados dos canais do mesmo género, “que decresceram de forma generalizada“.
As audiências do canal melhoraram de forma significativa ao longo de todo o dia, especialmente durante o prime-time (20h-24h). No público em geral, de acordo com os dados da GfK/CAEM, o Nickelodeon está a crescer há três meses consecutivos, tendo obtido 1,2% de share nos primeiros 22 dias de junho. Em maio, a média foi de 1,2%, e em abril tinha sido de 0,8% de quota de mercado.
De acordo com os dados revelados em comunicado, as séries populares de live-action reuniram o maior número de espectadores do canal, como The Thundermans (24,7 mil espectadores), iCarly (23,3 mil espectadores) e Henry Danger (22,7 mil espectadores).

BURBANK, Calif.–April 9, 2020–Nickelodeon has inked a deal with Scooter Braun’s SB Projects to bring the musical stylings of The BeatBuds to TV with a brand-new animated preschool series based on the popular kids’ music duo. Each episode of The BeatBuds (working title) will follow the musical adventures of Jonny, Matty and the rest of the ‘Buds, and feature an original song. Written by Evan Sinclair (Ryan’s Mystery Playdate, The Aquabats! Super Show!), The BeatBuds short-form series (10 episodes) will begin production this summer and premiere on Nickelodeon’s preschool platforms in 2021.

Formed in 2012, the BeatBuds are best friends and musical partners Jonathan Jonah and Matthew Shapiro, who have been playing together since the age of six. Among their toddler-approved hits are the songs “Gravity,” “Sam the Garbage Man” and “When the Rain Falls Down.” The duo count Kim Kardashian West, Pink, Fergie and Braun among their famous fans.

The BeatBuds joins a list of upcoming shows at Nickelodeon that also includes SpongeBob SquarePants prequel Kamp Koral, animated series Big Nate and live-action shows Side Hustle and The Astronauts.
The series order comes as Nickelodeon is experiencing a ratings surge. Networks, overall, have seen higher ratings due to more people staying in due to the coronavirus quarantine. Since mid-March (3/16), the preschool block on Nickelodeon is up 23% vs. prior four weeks and ahead of year ago levels by +7% among preschoolers. Nick Jr. is up 20% with K2-5 from the previous four weeks; March was the highest-rated month among preschoolers since March 2019.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ animated adventure based on the absorbent underwater fry cook, is skipping its planned theatrical debut, Variety has learnt. It will instead launch on premium digital rental services before landing exclusively on CBS All Access — the streaming service owned by the studio’s parent company, ViacomCBS — in the U.S. in early 2021.
It was originally slated to hit the big screen on May 22, but was postponed until Aug. 7 due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Paramount's international release strategy for SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run has yet to be announced.
It's currently unknown whether Nickelodeon will go ahead with the premiere of Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years this summer. The first spin-off from SpongeBob SquarePants, the CG-animated prequel (13 episodes) follows 10-year-old SpongeBob during his summer at sleepaway camp, building underwater campfires, catching wild jellyfish, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral. Sponge on the Run is also slated to feature flashback scenes of SpongeBob at Camp Coral.

Numerous movies — including Universal’s Trolls World Tour and The King of Staten Island, Warner Bros. animated adventure Scoob and Disney’s Artemis Fowl — have opted to forgo traditional theatrical releases since cinemas across the country closed in mid-March to help stop the spread of coronavirus. Paramount recently sold its romantic comedy The Lovebirds to Netflix given the uncertainty over when theaters might reopen. It was also supposed to release Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 this fall, but Netflix is negotiating a deal to buy that movie from Cross Creek Pictures, the film’s financier.
AMC, Regal and Cinemark, the three biggest theater chains, all plan to resume business sometime in July. Hollywood studios have mostly cleared their calendars through summer, but a handful of new movies are expected to greet moviegoers when multiplexes reopen next month. Disney’s Mulan on July 24 will be the first major release, followed by Christopher Nolan’s Tenet on July 31. An actor named Antonio Raul Corbo will be voicing young SpongeBob.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run will feature a raft of guest stars, including: Keanu Reeves (as a tumbleweed named Sage), Awkwafina, Reggie Watts and Snoop Dog. Cyndi Lauper (The SpongeBob Musical) has written original songs for the film.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ animated adventure based on the absorbent underwater fry cook, is skipping its planned theatrical debut, Variety has learnt. It will instead launch on premium digital rental services before landing exclusively on CBS All Access — the streaming service owned by the studio’s parent company, ViacomCBS — in the U.S. in early 2021.
It was originally slated to hit the big screen on May 22, but was postponed until Aug. 7 due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Paramount's international release strategy for SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run has yet to be announced.
It's currently unknown whether Nickelodeon will go ahead with the premiere of Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years this summer. The first spin-off from SpongeBob SquarePants, the CG-animated prequel (13 episodes) follows 10-year-old SpongeBob during his summer at sleepaway camp, building underwater campfires, catching wild jellyfish, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral. Sponge on the Run is also slated to feature flashback scenes of SpongeBob at Camp Coral.
“We are thrilled to have The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run, a premier, first-run movie from one of ViacomCBS’ biggest brands, join CBS All Access’ expanding slate of franchise content from across ViacomCBS,” said Marc DeBevoise, chief digital officer at ViacomCBS and president and CEO of ViacomCBS Digital. “This launch will be perfectly timed with our continued expansion and planned rebranding of the service in early 2021, as we welcome SpongeBob and the gang from Bikini Bottom to the service in the biggest way possible.”
All prior seasons of SpongeBob SquarePants will be available on CBS All Access as part of its ongoing expansion. The move comes as ViacomCBS plans to integrate its many networks into one “House of Brands” streaming product. In May, ViacomCBS CEO Bob Bakish announced that CBS All Access would undergo rebranding to incorporate more of the company’s cable brands and library programming, including Paramount Pictures’s vast film catalog and Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET, Smithsonian and MTV channels.
“I’m incredibly proud of this film, and the phenomenal cast and filmmaking team that made it happen,” said Mireille Soria, president of Paramount Animation. “Bringing this movie to life was a true collaboration and labor of love, and I’m thrilled for audiences to enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.”
Adds Ramsey Naito, executive VP of Nickelodeon Animation Production and Development, “We’re incredibly happy to give kids and families a much-deserved lift in any way we can, and the PVOD release of the new SpongeBob theatrical and putting all seasons of the TV series on CBS All Access are two of the best ways I can think of to get immersed in the optimism and joy that this terrific character represents.”
Numerous movies — including Universal’s Trolls World Tour and The King of Staten Island, Warner Bros. animated adventure Scoob and Disney’s Artemis Fowl — have opted to forgo traditional theatrical releases since cinemas across the country closed in mid-March to help stop the spread of coronavirus. Paramount recently sold its romantic comedy The Lovebirds to Netflix given the uncertainty over when theaters might reopen. It was also supposed to release Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 this fall, but Netflix is negotiating a deal to buy that movie from Cross Creek Pictures, the film’s financier.
AMC, Regal and Cinemark, the three biggest theater chains, all plan to resume business sometime in July. Hollywood studios have mostly cleared their calendars through summer, but a handful of new movies are expected to greet moviegoers when multiplexes reopen next month. Disney’s Mulan on July 24 will be the first major release, followed by Christopher Nolan’s Tenet on July 31. Two smaller titles will open first: Russell Crowe’s thriller Unhinged on July 10, and Sony Pictures’ rom-com The Broken Hearts Gallery on July 17. sees best friends SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star venture out of Bikini Bottom and head to the Lost City of Atlantic City on a rescue mission to save SpongeBob’s trustee snail Gary. Its the third SpongeBob film, after 2004’s The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and 2015’s The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. Those movies were commercially successful, earning over $450 million globally combined.
In Sponge on the Run, after SpongeBob’s beloved pet snail Gary is snail-napped, he and Patrick embark on an epic adventure to The Lost City of Atlantic City to bring Gary home. As they navigate the delights and dangers on this perilous and hilarious rescue mission, SpongeBob and his pals prove there’s nothing stronger than the power of friendship.
Sponge on the Run will see the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants reprise their respective roles: Tom Kenny (SpongeBob and Gary), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Douglas Lawrence (Plankton), Jill Talley (Karen), Mary Jo Catlett (Mrs. Puff), and Lori Alan (Pearl). An actor named Antonio Raul Corbo will be voicing young SpongeBob.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run will feature a raft of guest stars, including: Keanu Reeves (as a tumbleweed named Sage), Awkwafina, Reggie Watts and Snoop Dog. Cyndi Lauper (The SpongeBob Musical) has written original songs for the film.
Based on the TV series created by Stephen Hillenburg, The SpongeBob Movie is written and directed by Tim Hill, and produced by Ryan Harris, with Stephen Hillenburg exec producing. Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies present, in association with MRC A United Plankton Pictures production.

Corus Unveil's YTV Canada's 2020-2021 Programming Slate
Toronto - Canada's Corus Entertainment announced today its powerful 2020-2021 programming slate for its top-rated specialty children's channel, YTV, which includes the premieres of the brand new Nickelodeon series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years and Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, all new seasons of hits The Casagrandes (season two), Top Elf (season two), and Are You Afraid of The Dark? (season two), and brand new episodes of fan favourites including SpongeBob SquarePants, The Loud House, Danger Force, and All That!
