Avatar: The Last Airbender completed its run on Nickelodeon almost a decade ago, but it is still fresh in the hearts of those who fell in love with it. The news that it is coming back on Netflix left the fans excited recently. Now, what if we give you one more surprise?

The much-loved show Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming back to Netflix, 5 years after it was pulled down in 2015. Now to celebrate the news, Dante Basco, who voiced Zuko and Jack DeSena who was Sokka’s voice will be hosting a watch party. They will be watching it virtually with fans of the show and they confirmed it themselves.

Avatar: The Last Airbender released originally back in 2005 and was cancelled in 2008 by the third season. The show set in the fictional world, follows Avatar who’s goal was to keep harmony amidst four nations. A villain kicks in and initiates a war. With his friends, Avatar tries to bring peace in the four nations.

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Cast Reunite To Have A Netflix Watch Party

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' was a fan loved animated series. Read on to know about its Netflix debut and more details of the popular show.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is all set to release on Nextflix as per reports. The much-awaited show is about the four divisions of world namely into earth, land, air and water. In the show, the last air bender is on a quest to become the Avatar, the one who is a able to manipulate all elements. The show had an interesting storyline back when it telecasted on Nickelodeon.

The show was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Avatar: The Last Airbender will be available to viewers on Netflix from May 15, 2020. To mark the Netflix debut, the voice behind the characters Zuko and Sokka that is Dante Basco, Jack DeSena will have a Netflix watch party.

In an interview with a publication, the voice behind Zuko, Dante Basco, got candid about his experience dubbing for the show. As known to many Avatar: The Last Airbender fans, Zuko is one of the most explored yet complex character fighting for his principles yet making a mark on his family’s monumental backdrop.

Dante gave the voice to The Prince of Fire Kingdom, the exiled prince from his own possessions in a bid to save the army. By his own father, Zuko was pushed into the unknown. Zuko deviated between the good and bad, trying to gain the Avatar status, the only way to put him out of his misery. Avatar: The Last Airbender was known for its fights between Zuko and Sokka. The show was immensely popular amid its cult following.

The scar bearing character’s voice was essayed by Dante Basco. He revealed through a Twitter post that the voice behind Sokka, Jack DeSena will also accompany him in the Netflix watch party. The money raised through the Netflix watch party will be donated to a charity for a good cause.


From the first to the last season of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Zuko witnessed the most developments and changes in his primary characterisation. The character played the most commending struggles, overcoming and dealing with the lone personality. However, it will be interesting to see them once again on the Netflix OTT platform.

Avatar: The Last Airbender, Nickelodeon's beloved animated series inspired by anime from the 2000s which follows characters that can harness different elements of the world - Water. Earth. Fire. Air - might seem that it would be difficult to recreate, but think again.


A die-hard Avatar and Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan has faithfully recreated the intro cinematic sequence of the air-bending television series!

They had little to work with but thanks to their excellent editing skills mixed with the perfect pieces of furniture and other objects, the player was able to fully capture the essence of Avatar and its well-known characters.

A few Avatar: The Last Airbender fans have recreated the Spirit Oasis in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, just as the show is being binged on Netflix.

Reddit users have once again recreated elements of a beloved television show in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, in this case Nickelodeon's classic Avatar: The Last Airbender. With the hit cartoon having begun streaming on Netflix a couple of weeks ago, fans are feeling nostalgic for the adventures of Avatar Aang and his friends as they struggle to master the Four Elements of Air, Water, Earth, and Fire to save the world from the evil Fire Lord Ozai's dreaded Fire Nation army.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ deep customization tools allow players to create new attire for their in-game avatars and even terraform the game’s island setting, each of which has spawned a number of creative tributes to other popular works and even real-life figures. These have ranged from remaking the intro sequence from Cartoon Network’s Courage The Cowardly Dog to even building an island in the shape of legendary actor Danny Devito’s face. Even the official Twitter page for MTV's late-2000s reality show Jersey Shore actually used the game to recreate iconic moments from the show. Meanwhile, some New Horizons players have opted for in-game homages that are slightly less outlandish, but no less impressive.

A number of Reddit users have recently been posting screenshots of their New Horizons-created tributes to Avatar: The Last Airbender on the Animal Crossing subreddit over the past week, particularly those referencing the Northern Water Tribe's Spirit Oasis from the end of the show’s first season - which a good number of viewers are most likely binging at the moment. Shdycnnn reenacted a scene in which main protagonist Aang meditated by the secluded pond at night, illni recreated the entire location, and demonica12 posted a screenshot of their Katara-inspired character happily strolling amid their own rendition of the oasis. Fondly remembered for its likable characters and surprisingly deep themes of destiny, prejudice, and war, Avatar: The Last Airbender ran for three seasons on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008, spawning a number of tie-in comic books and even the four-season sequel series, The Legend Of Korra. A live-action Netflix adaptation was announced back in 2018, one that will hopefully avoid the mistakes that befell the ill-fated M. Night Shyamalan film of 2010, which notoriously mispronounced key characters’ names and white-washed the source material's ethnically diverse cast.

With this new show on the horizon and the original cartoon available now for viewing on Netflix, these fan recreations of the iconic Spirit Oasis from Avatar: The Last Airbender couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s always impressive to see what people come with using creation tools in games like Animal Crossing, and these works from Redditors are no different. Following its release on Netflix, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are making more island creations based on Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a bastion for creativity, with players able to reimagine their deserted islands in just about any way through a combination of custom design patterns, terraforming, and outdoor decorating. Much of that creativity has been channeled into referencing and recreating other pieces of media, some of which has come from the original creators like a recent MTV Jersey Shore social media post.

One hallmark that likely resonates with plenty of people currently playing New Horizons is the Nickelodeon animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender that aired between 2005 and 2008. The show became available on the streaming service Netflix earlier this month, and as a result some Animal Crossing fans have been rewatching it during quarantine and incorporating it into their games.

Of all the Avatar: The Last Airbender posts uploaded to the r/AnimalCrossing subreddit within the last week, much of the focus has been on a zen location called the Northern Water Tribe's Spirit Oasis seen during the concluding episodes of the first season. Reddit users shdycnnn, illni, and demonica12 have all posted renditions of this secluded pond made in Animal Crossing: New Horizons since the show began streaming.

Avatar creations have not been exclusively related to the Spirit Oasis, though that is likely seeing more frequency on account of players binging through the first season of the show. Some ideas were created well before its streaming began, much like the series has seen play on other creative outlets like Media Molecules' Dreams. Reddit user ItsPronouncedOiler posted a take on one of the most infamously emotional scenes from Season 2 last month, for instance.

Thunayyan Khalid Named "Favorite Arab Star" at Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together Arabia

Cast your minds back to September last year, when Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards, the biggest awards ceremony in children's entertainment landed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the first time ever.


Well, in another first, the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together has been produced virtually.

That means that all the stars, including the event's host Victoria Justice (Victorious, Zoey 101, Fun Size), came together online to bring kids across the world, including in the UAE, the opportunity to watch the fun slimefest on TV after the originally planned Kids' Choice Awards 2020 ceremony has to be cancelled due to the on-going COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

As as voting in Kids' Choice Awards 2020's global categories, fans in the Middle East could also vote for their Favorite Arab Star: Ahmed Al Nasheet, Cynthia Samuel, Hala Al Turk or Thunayyan Khalid.

Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together will be broadcast across the UAE on Sunday, May 24 at 6pm.

Time Out Dubai had a quick chat with the award's host Victoria Justice to see what it was like to be part of the first ever virtually produced telecast of the popular kids' award ceremony.

You hosted the first ever virtual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. How does that feel?
It was a huge honour and one I won’t forget. It was such a unique opportunity to host the Kids' Choice Awards from my house, and being the first woman to host the awards alone was really incredible!

So many major worldwide events and shows have been cancelled, it’s quite monumental that the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards found a way to go ahead. Was it more nerve-wracking than a live show?
In some ways, yes, because it’s never been done before. But I started my career with Nickelodeon so it really felt like coming home again. I just wanted to have fun and make sure that the audience was entertained and I think we were able to do that! I really had a blast!

What can kids expect from this new virtually-produced version? Will it have all the same fun, craziness and slime?
What I can tell you is that it is a very special awards ceremony. The winners give their thank you speeches from their homes, so it’s really cool because we get to see a bit of what their lives are like. There will be a ton of slime, live performances, and very special people and guests. You don’t want to miss it!

Presented by Victoria Justice, the show brought together the winners via the now-custom Zoom chat and was interspersed with performances.

Influencer Thunayyan Khalid picked up the Favorite Arab Star, topping the vote and edging out other popular regional personalities like Ahmed Al Nasheet, Cynthia Samuel and Hala Al Turk.

Talking about the win, Khalid said: "I have been passionate about capturing and documenting everyday life for as long as I can remember. When I started vlogging, I did not imagine that years later I will be where I am today. You have joined me on my journey and experienced many adventures with me. I have been fortunate enough to share my everyday life with the world, whether it was the candid moments like life abroad and cooking with friends, or the big moments like traveling to a new country and attending award ceremonies. ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand Expands Sales Team and Announces New Division

ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand today announced the expansion of its Sales team with the establishment of a new Independent Agencies and Direct Sales division.


The new division will be led by Ian Smith, who returned to ViacomCBS’s Network 10 last month after a five-year absence. Most recently he was general manager of trading and operations, national sales, at News Corp Australia.

Reporting to Network 10 national sales director Lisa Squillace, Ian will work closely with Sydney sales director Diane Ho and digital sales director Sophie Hicks Lloyd.

The Melbourne sales team has also been restructured, with the appointment of Adam Quick to the new role of head of independent agencies and direct sales, and John O’Brien to the new role of head of agency. Adam and John were previously Network 10 group sales managers in Melbourne.

ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand chief sales officer, Rod Prosser, said: “The launch of the new Independent Agencies and Direct Sales division is a big step for us and our clients.

“It represents a significant investment and highlights the commitment of ViacomCBS to creating the best Sales team to deliver the best results for clients.

“The merger of the Network 10 and ViacomCBS sales departments on 1 May this year created one business that covers the best local and global brands, shows and events. Together, we offer marketers the power to engage and connect with people aged under 50 at every age and every stage,” he said.

“Now we are building on that incredibly strong proposition with a new focus on the important independent agencies sector and direct clients.”

Lisa Squillace said she was delighted to welcome Ian back to the business.

“With almost 20 years’ experience across sport sales, direct sales, content creation, agency investment and revenue management, Ian’s appointment as sales director, independent agencies and direct sales, is going to make big difference for our clients in those areas.

Today’s announcement comes 18 months after Network 10 re-established its in-house sales team. Since then, the network has seen strong revenue share growth and won several agency awards.

As a result of the changes announced today, Damon Jackson is leaving Network 10. Damon has been with the network for almost six years and was appointed Melbourne sales director in September 2018.

Today’s announcement comes 18 months after Network 10 re-established its in-house sales team. Since then, the network has seen strong revenue share growth and won several agency awards.

It’s great to see that ViacomCBS recognises the significance of the independent agencies and direct sales markets, particularly given the independent agencies have recently launched their own governing body. ViacomCBS restructures sales team with Melbourne sales director Damon Jackson exiting

Ten parent company ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand has announced a restructure of its sales team and the establishment of a new independent agencies and direct sales division.

The expansion sees Ian Smith return to the business after five years of absence. Smith returns from News Corp Australia where he was general manager of trading and operations, national sales. Melbourne sales director Damon Jackson will be exiting the business as part of the changes.

Jackson’s departure follows a number of cuts across the Ten business, which Ten boss Beverley McGarvey denied were related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ten and ViacomCBS merged sales teams in May.

Jackson had been with Ten for almost six years and was appointed Melbourne sales director in September 2018. ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand chief sales officer, Rod Prosser, said he leaves with best wishes.

“Damon has been a pleasure to work with and generated great results for our Melbourne business. He leaves us with my very best wishes and a big thank you from everyone at Ten,” said Prosser.

Ten also recently closed its news and video platform 10 Daily.

Smith will report to Ten’s national sales director Lisa Squillace and work alongside Sydney sales director Diane Ho and digital sales director Sophie Hicks Lloyd.

Adam Quick has been appointed head of independent agencies and direct sales and John O’Brien head of agency. The two were previously group sales managers in Melbourne where the sales team has been restructured.

“The launch of the new independent agencies and direct sales division is a big step for us and our clients,” said Prosser.

“It represents a significant investment and highlights the commitment of ViacomCBS to creating the best sales team to deliver the best results for clients.”

Lisa Squillace said she was delighted to welcome Smith back to the business.

PMI and ViacomCBS Partner on Licensed Face Masks to Raise Money for Charity

PMI is set to release a range of licensed kids’ face masks in partnership with ViacomCBS, making PMI one of the few companies worldwide with the ability to offer fully printed, licensed three-layer masks.

All ViacomCBS proceeds from each face mask sold will go towards Save the Children’s Covid-19 global response efforts.


With lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic starting to be gradually eased around the world, medical professionals are recommending that people travelling on public transport and going into enclosed spaces should wear face masks to protect themselves and others from the virus - with some transport companies even requiring passengers to wear them whilst travelling.

It help make it easier for kids to adjust to the "new normal", P.M.I. is partnering with Nickelodeon to release a range of branded face masks featuring characters from hit Nickelodeon properties!

The PAW Patrol, SpongeBob SquarePants and MTV designs are available in a 5-pack, 10-pack and a handy 50-piece CDU containing two different designs for the feature property. Shimmer and Shine, The Loud House, Blaze and the Monster Machines, and the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles designs are available in a 10-pack and a 50-piece CDU.


All ViacomCBS proceeds from each face mask sold will go towards Save the Children’s Covid-19 global response efforts. Suitable for kids aged between 4-12 years, the three-layer masks conform to US standard ASTM F2100-2019and European standard EN 14683: 2009.

“PMI and ViacomCBS have always enjoyed a very good relationship, and we’re delighted to be partnering on these new charity face masks,” Omer Dekel, PMI’s VP international sales, told Toy World. “Face masks are becoming an important health accessory across the globe due to Covid-19, and with our range of popular licences we’re able to provide an option that is cool and appealing to kids, as well as important for their safety.”

PMI revealed the Nickelodeon face mask line during its first ever virtual toy show.

Billed as "The First EVER Global Virtual Toy Fair" and running between Monday 18th and Friday 22nd May, the company used the global Zoom event to showcase its portfolio of licensed collectibles, stationery and pocket money lines, based on popular properties including Paw Patrol, Pinkfong Baby Shark, Fortnite, Harry Potter, WWE, and Justice League. Professional camera-controllers were on hand to give attendees a guided tour around the PMI showroom, an experience that promised no interruptions and one-on-one attention beyond what could usually be expected during a physical, face to face event. Buyers and distributors were able ask questions, see the USPs of each range – of which there were many – and place orders without having to leave their home office.

A new home in the city holds big adventures, laughs and love around every corner in The Casagrandes! Nickelodeon’s new original animated series premiered today, Sunday 7th June 2020 at 10:00 on Nickelodeon Poland (Polska)! Following launch, new episodes of The Casagrandes, locally titled Wielkodomscy, will continue to air Sundays at 10:00 on Nick Polska.

A spinoff of Nick’s animated hit The Loud House (Harmidom), The Casagrandes tells the story of 11-year-old Ronnie Anne who moves to the city with her mom and older brother to live with their big, loving family, the Casagrandes.

After moving in with their grandparents in Great Lakes City, Ronnie Anne adjusts to her new life living under one roof and over the family-run mercado (local market), which is a gathering place for everyone in the neighborhood. The series showcases the culture, humor, and love that’s part of growing up in a multigenerational Mexican-American family.

The US-English dub of The Casagrandes stars Izabella Alvarez (Westworld) as 11-year-old Ronnie Annie, Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush) as her brother Bobby and Sumalee Montano (Nashville) as her mom Maria. Alvarez, PenaVega and Montano bring these characters to life, alongside: Carlos Alazraqui (The Fairly OddParents) as Carlos, “Tio;” Roxana Ortega (The League) as Frida, “Tia;” Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids) as Carlota; Jared Kozak (Born this Way) as CJ; Alex Cazares (The Boss Baby: Back in Business) as Carl; Ruben Garfias (East Los High) as Hector, “Abuelo;” and Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street) as Rosa, “Abuela.” Additionally, Eugenio Derbez (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) gives voice to Dr. Santiago, a physician living and working in Peru, who is Ronnie Anne and Bobby’s father.

Ronnie Anne’s new apartment building holds new friends and neighbors, including: Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken) as Stanley Chang; Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch) as Becca Chang; Leah Mei Gold (Legion) as 12-year-old Sid Chang, Ronnie Anne’s new friend; and Lexi Sexton as Adelaide Chang, Sid’s 6-year-old little sister.

In the first episode, “Going Overboard,” Ronnie Anne finds out her Tio Carlos was a famous skateboarder and she begs him to teach her some new moves. Then, in “Walk Don’t Run,” Ronnie Anne and Sid start a dog-walking business to save up for a new skateboard in a plan that quickly gets out of hand.

The Casagrandes theme song is performed by pop star Ally Brooke.

The Casagrande family was first introduced in the The Loud House special, “The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos,” which premiered in on Nickelodeon USA on May 2017 and ranks as the highest-rated premiere for the series in Live+7 with both K2-11 (6.6/1.8M) and K6-11 (8.1/1.3M).

The Casagrandes made its world premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Monday, October 14, at 1:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Following its launch, the popular series has spawned a podcast, The Casagrandes Familia Sounds and vlog series. The series has been renewed for season two.


The Casagrandes is produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank, Calif. The series is executive produced by Michael Rubiner (The Loud House), with Karen Malach (The Loud House) serving as producer, Alan Foreman as supervising producer and Miguel Puga as supervising director. Award-winning cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz (Coco) serves as consulting producer and cultural consultant.
