Live-action host Josh and beloved puppy Blue, in Nickelodeon's brand-new Blue's Clues & You!
The original Blue’s Clues series launched in September 1996 to critical praise from educators, parents, and preschoolers and ran for six groundbreaking seasons. Created by Traci Paige Johnson, Todd Kessler, and Angela C. Santomero, Blue’s Clues drew acclaim and high ratings for its unique interactivity that helped change the way kids watch television and has remained one of the most popular preschool shows of all time. The landmark series also raised the bar in preschool television by exploring advanced subject matter such as sign language, geography, physics, emotions, and anatomy.
In the U.K., Blue’s Clues was originally hosted by Kevin Duala (above photo, The One Show). Although the U.K. edition kept most of the elements of its U.S. counterpart, some aspects were changed for a British audience, such as "Mail Time", which became "Post Time" in the U.K., with the song's lyrics changed to reflect the new name; and characters such as Pail, Shovel and Mailbox were renamed as their British equivalents, Bucket, Spade and Postbox, respectively. Additionally, the shows animated characters, such as Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Postbox (Mailbox), Sidetable Drawer, Snail, Bucket (Pail), and Spade (Shovel) were dubbed with British accents, and kids with British accents were used for the off-screen audience, to give the show a localised feel.
It appears that for Blue’s Clues & You!, Nick UK & Ireland will be using the original US-English version. However, Kevin has hinted that he'll be featured in the new series.
