J Balvin, Louis De Guzman and Nickelodeon Launch SpongeBob SquarePants Collection at PacSun

Fresh from teaming-up with Modernica and Louis De Guzman for a homeware collection and Ian Delucca on a set of grillz, J Balvin has revealed the latest installment of his ongoing SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration! The Colombian reggaeton icon has once again collaborated with Louis De Guzman to launch a SpongeBob SquarePants apparel collection to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series. The line is now available to purchase at PacSun.

The J Balvin x Louis De Guzman clothing collection encompasses two short-sleeved t-shirts (a SpongeBob Tie-Dyed T-Shirt and a Patrick T-Shirt) as well as long-sleeved tee, and a SpongeBob hoodie. The collection will also expand to include two SpongeBob candles.

The clothing part of the collection is available in a range of sizes. Items in the line have price points between $38-$88 (USD); £32-76 (GBP).

In additional news, Chicago’s own Louis De Guzman, locally-based visual artist and designer, is hosting a pop-up with Nickelodeon to showcase his newest body of work, designed in collaboration with Latin superstar, J Balvin, for SpongeBob SquarePants’ 20 year anniversary. De Guzman will take over a Wicker Park activation space for five days in November, filling it with the collection of eclectic art pieces, apparel, and home goods curated in gallery format, for the Chicago public to enjoy. PAW Patrol to Take Over Nick Jr. Too UK in December 2019

The PAW Patrol is on a roll, and this December, will be leaping onto Nick Jr. Too for Nick Jr. UK & Ireland's second PAW Patrol pop-up channel!

Beginning Sunday 1st December 2019, the PAW Patrol will be bringing fans an early Christmas treat with non-stop action and ruff-ruff rescues in back-to-back episodes of Nick Jr.'s massively popular animated preschool series PAW Patrol all day everyday between 6:00am-3:00am for one PAWSOME month!

Foxtel Australia to Host Nickelodeon and 'PAW Patrol' Pop-Up Channels Over Summer Holidays

The Australian pay television company Foxtel has announced that it is launching the first of seven Kids Pop-Up Channels with Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Cartoon Network and Boomerang programming beginning Friday, November 15, 2019!

These will be open to all set-top-box subscribers for over 15 weeks during the school holidays and over summer.

Each of the new Kids Pop-Up Channels will run for two weeks or more until they finish up Saturday, February 29, 2020. The news follows Foxtel hosting a SpongeBob SquarePants Pop Up Channel in September 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nickelodeon's beloved animated series.

Foxtel’s new Kids Pop-Up Channels in order of broadcast on Channel 700:

The Cartoon Network Classics Pop-Up Channel is the first Kids Pop-Up channel to launch on November 15 from 6am and running to November 29. The classic Cartoon Network programming featured includes The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Tom & Jerry Show, Ed, Edd N’ Eddy, Cow & Chicken, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Samurai Jack, Dexter’s Laboratory, and Johnny Bravo.

Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol Pop-Up Channel (shouldn't that be Pup-Up?) will follow starting on November 29 and running to December 13 featuring back-to-back mega-hit PAW Patrol for two whole weeks.

In the lead up to Christmas, the Looney Tunes Pop-Up Channel will launch from December 13 to December 27 featuring Baby Looney Tunes, New Looney Tunes, The Looney Tunes Show, Taz-Mania, Bugs Bunny, and The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries.

Over the New Year, Cartoon Network is launching the Scooby-Doo Pop-Up Channel from December 27 to January 10 with two weeks of everyone’s favourite dog and detective squad in Scooby-Doo back-to-back.

The Nick Summer Pop-Up Channel will follow on from January 10 to January 24 with popular Nickelodeon shows SpongeBob SquarePants, Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty, The Loud House, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, Henry Danger, new reality series America’s Most Musical Family, Sam & Cat, iCarly, Victorious, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, CatDog, School Of Rock, Knight Squad, The Thundermans, Big Time Rush, Game Shakers, and 100 Things To Do Before High School.

The Cartoon Network Lego Pop-Up Channel will air from January 24 to February 7 featuring all the best of the Lego programming including Lego Friends, Lego Friends – Girls On A Mission, Ninjago, Ninjago – Master Of Spinjitzu, Nexo Knights, and Mixels.

Rounding out the summer is the final Pop-Up Cartoon Network Superheroes Pop-Up Channel from February 7 to February 29 including Bakugan, Transformers, DC Super Hero Girls, Green Lantern, Justice League Unlimited, The Batman, Thundercats, and Teen Titans.

Foxtel Kids is home to the best in kids’ television from Disney, Disney Junior, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., CBeebies, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and Discovery Kids including kids’ favourite characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, PJ Masks, Henry Danger, and DC Super Hero Girls. Nickelodeon's all-new buddy comedy series, Cousins For Life, will premiere on Nickelodeon France on Saturday 23rd November 2019 at 11:55 (12:55 +1)! The live-action series follows 12-year-old cousins and best friends Stuart (Dallas Dupree Young) and Ivy (Scarlet Spencer) as they learn to navigate life under one roof with their families in Portland, despite being from very different backgrounds. Although the cousins don’t always see eye-to-eye, they learn that they are better together, and when they team up they are unstoppable. Locally titled Cousins pour la vie, following launch, new episodes of Cousins For Life will continue to air regularly on Nickelodeon in France.

In the premiere episode, "Movin' In" (#101), Ivy and Stuart’s life is disrupted after their dads, Clark (Ishmel Sahid) and Lewis (Ron G.), have a disagreement and Clark ends up moving into their hangout space in the garage. It’s now their missions to resolve their dads’ argument and reclaim their space. The episode also stars Micah Abbey as Ivy’s brother Leaf, who’s always having a good time when he’s with his pet pig, Arthur (Sally Sue).

Cousins For Life made its world premiere on Saturday, January 5, 2019 on Nickelodeon USA, running for 20 episodes over one season, concluding its run on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Following its U.S. launch, the series has been rolled out on Nickelodeon’s international channels and branded blocks.

SpongeBob Is Back! The Man Behind the Voice, Tom Kenny, on Returning for a Big Screen Adventure

The SpongeBob Movie Sponge on the Run will be out in May 2020.

SpongeBob SquarePants returns to the big screen in the brand new SpongeBob movie, Sponge on the Run, coming out in May 2020. (See the new poster, below!)

Tom Kenny, the man who has voiced the lovable cartoon sponge for over 20 years (and voices several other characters on the Nickelodeon show, including Gary the Snail) opened up to People about what we can expect from the newest adventure from SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and the rest of the Bikini Bottom gang. (Which will include Tiffany Haddish and Keanu Reeves.)

What can you tell us about SpongeBob and Patrick’s latest adventure, if anything?

As a great poet once said: “There is no love like the love of a sponge for his snail”…..There’s a lot that I can’t talk about yet, but I CAN say that when SpongeBob‘s precious pet Gary goes missing, SpongeBob and his trusty pink pal Patrick hit the road on our wildest road trip yet to try and get him back.

Will there be amazing music like there was the last time?

Yes, some fun musical numbers and new SpongeSongs. I hope to write one or two of ‘em myself! Fingers crossed!

Do you ever get sick of people asking you to do the SpongeBob voice in real life?

I can honestly say I don’t get sick of it! Not once in 20 years! I love the character, and after two decades of frying impressionable young minds, SpongeBob has been very impactful in folks’ lives. It’s always fun for the cast to watch people’s reactions when we do the voices “live“, or when we insert a fan’s name into a famous line from the show.

Will the movie honor the show’s creator Stephen Hillenburg?

We try to honor Stephen with everything we do. He was the captain of the ship, and everything that makes SpongeBob work came directly from his head and his hands. Steve is always in our consciousness as we carry on the legacy of his timeless characters. As long as SpongeBob is in the world, Stephen Hillenburg is in the world. That’s our mission, and we think of him every day.

Who’s your personal favorite character (other than yourself!) on the show?

I love all of the characters, (and the actors who portray ‘em!). They all have great moments, but Squidward never fails to fracture me. He is the diametric opposite of SpongeBob. The Sponge embodies wide-eyed optimism and being 100% comfortable with who you are. The Squid embodies suspicious cynicism and pretentious delusions of grandeur. It’s a great juxtaposition for us to play with.

The SpongeBob Movie Sponge on the Run (formally SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge) will be out in May 2020.

Since its launch in July 1999, SpongeBob SquarePants has emerged as a pop culture phenomenon. The series has been the most-watched animated program with kids 2-11 for more than 15 consecutive years, and over the past several years, it has averaged more than 100,000,000 total viewers every quarter across all Nickelodeon networks. SpongeBob SquarePants is the most widely distributed property in Viacom International Media Networks history, seen in more than 208 countries and territories and translated in 55+ languages. The Paramount Pictures feature film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water premiered Feb. 6, 2015, landing at #1 opening weekend. The character-driven cartoon chronicles the nautical and sometimes nonsensical adventures of SpongeBob, an incurably optimistic and earnest sea sponge, and his undersea friends in the fictional underwater city of Bikini Bottom. Among those friends are SpongeBob's best friend, a pink starfish named Patrick Star, his neighbor and co-worker octopus Squidward Tentacles, and Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel from Texas.

SpongeBob SquarePants has been renewed through to at least the show's 13th season, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2019, has its own critically acclaimed Broadway show, which is set to tour the U.S. from Fall 2019, and has a third upcoming movie, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, set to be released in Summer 2020! Nickelodeon is also developing spin-off's inspired by the series, including the recently greenlit CG-animated Kamp Koral.

JoJo Siwa, PAW Patrol, Baby Shark, Peppa Pig and Power Rangers Receive Nominations In 2020 Toy Of The Year Awards

The Toy Association has announced the exciting news that JoJo Siwa, Power Rangers Beast Morphers, PAW Patrol, Peppa Pig, Baby Shark and Ryan's World have each received nominations in the prestigious 2020 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards!

Known as the "Oscars" of the toy industry, the TOTY Awards program recognizes the top playthings on the market – from STEM/STEAM and innovative toys to dolls, action figures, creative toys, and more. The program is also a vital fundraiser for The Toy Foundation, which annually delivers toys to millions of children in need.

Finalists were announced on Monday, November 11, 2019 by a group of well-known online influencers who serve as TOTY ambassadors. Between now and January 5, 2020 play-lovers of all ages can visit www.ToyAwards.org to vote for their favorite playthings in each of the 16 categories, browse toys, download shopping lists for the holidays, and enter for a chance to win one of 16 toy prize packages.

"From an extraordinary field of nominees carefully reviewed by expert judges, this year's TOTY finalists truly represent our members' ability to bring fun, laughter, discovery, and learning to kids across America and around the world," said Steve Pasierb, president & CEO of The Toy Association. "We are proud to unveil these playthings in advance of the holiday season and celebrate the toy community's enduring ability to inspire generations of play. Everyone is encouraged to cast their votes at ToyAwards.org and help decide the winners!"

Winners in each category, as well as the coveted overall Toy of the Year winner and the People's Choice winner (based solely on consumer votes), will be announced at the TOTY Awards gala on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. The celebration will kick off Toy Fair New York (February 22-25, 2020 at the Jacob K. Javits Center) and include the induction of three trailblazers into the esteemed Toy Industry Hall of Fame.
