JoJo Siwa Has a Message for the Trolls Who Hate on Her Hairline
Internet sensation JoJo Siwa doesn't let the haters bother her ... even if they pick on her hairline!
JoJo Siwa is known for her adorable music videos, love of glitter, sparkles and hair bows, and huge social media following (8.7 million on YouTube and counting!). JoJo is also one of the faces of Nickelodeon, and a anti-bullying advocate. But everything isn't always sunshine and rainbows for the famous 15-year-old. Siwa chatted with TODAY Style for the "Why I Love My" series to share how she deals with internet haters and how she's learned to love her hairline ... even if she jokes it's more of a "five head" than a forehead.
"There's been a lot of people who have said that they don't like my hairline. But here's the thing, when I look in the mirror, I know that my hairline makes me who I am, it makes me special," said JoJo. "It also makes me look like I have a 'five head' (instead of a forehead), but that's OK because it's just little blond hairs up here that you can't see. But I love it, it makes me who I am and, it's just, it's my hairline!"
"People on the internet have been like, 'Your hairline is so receding. JoJo Siwa is a 60-year-old dude who has a receding hairline.' And it's kind of made me think, like, is my hairline actually receding?
"I try not to read the comments on my YouTube page ... well, actually, let me rephrase that. I do read the comments, but I have the mean comments blocked. So I have words like, 'hate,' 'mean,' 'brat,' 'ugly,' etc. blocked so that I don't see them. And so my fans don't see them.
"But videos is where it gets to me. That's where I end up seeing all the hate is when people will make videos like, 'What's wrong with JoJo Siwa?' or 'Why I don't like JoJo Siwa.' Actually, if you search on YouTube, there's a video and it's the first thing that comes up (when you search my name) saying, 'We'll make you hate JoJo Siwa.' I see things that'll say something like, 'Her hairline's receding. She's a giant toddler.' And I'm like, oh, OK, all right. I love what I do, I am who I am. And it's just my life."
"If I could say anything to the people who make those videos, I would probably say, 'Thank you.' Because those videos get a lot of views and they're saying my name and they're putting out a video with my picture in it. I don't know. I'm not going to say, 'No, thank you.' I'd rather have you make a nice video, but thank you."
"The thing I love about social media is I can use my voice to reach millions of people with a singular post, which is so awesome. And the thing I hate about it is how much hate comes with it. You know, people can just comment anything they want and you don't even know who is commenting."
"If you're getting hate on social media, here's what I would tell you to do. It's really easy, and it's not that complicated. All you've got to do if it's a comment is just delete and click the person and block them. Just delete and block, delete and block, delete and block, delete and block. That's all you've got to do, and focus on the nice comments. Because with every one hate comment, you're going to get nice comments. So, focus on those 10 nice comments and don't let that one hate comment get to your day."

Cincinnati Cyclones to Host 'Paw Patrol Matinee' Day on Sunday, January 20, 2019
Cincinnati, OH: Nickelodeon's PAW Patrol is on a roll! The Cincinnati Cyclones has announced that the professional ECHL ice hockey team will hold a "Paw Patrol Matinee" day on Sunday, January 20, 2019 when the Cyclones face off against Indy Fuel! The ice hockey match will take place at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.
At "PAW Patrol Matinee", PAW Patrol fans will get to meet and greet Marshall and Skye from Nickelodeon's beloved animated preschool series, plus the Cyclones will wear special Paw Patrol inspired jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game!

Rainbow Inks '44 Cats' Licensing Deal with Artsana Group
Italian production company Rainbow is continuing to build up the licensing programme for its preschool property, 44 Cats, securing a new licensing deal with holistic lifestyle company Artsana Group!
Under the agreement, the company will develop a range of licensed 44 Cats-themed infant educational toys for infants and a nursing line under its Chicco brand, the largest infant brand in Europe. The deal also includes apparel and accessories collections by Prenatal and Chicco.
Products are expected to hit retail shelves later this year and will be supported by a dedicated, high-level marketing campaign delivered jointly by Rainbow and Artsana Group, which is also based in Italy.
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with the top-level Italian group Artsana,” commented Cristiana Buzzelli, Senior Vice President (SVP) Sales and Acquisitions at Rainbow. “Rainbow and Artsana Group represent two Italian excellence sharing a true sense of tradition and at the same time care about giving the best through the latest innovations: it’s a perfect match.”
Developed in collaboration with Antoniano Bologna and Rai Kids (Rai Ragazzi), 44 Cats is a 52 x 13-minute CG-animated series that follows the daily adventures of Lampo, Milady, Pilou, and Meatball – four musician kittens who are part of a all-feline music band named The Buffycats. The four protagonists live in the Clubhouse, a garage inside caring Granny Pina’s house, and love helping others with their ever creative solutions to everyday hitches. Their adventures explore the themes of friendship and altruism, tolerance, diversity and acceptance. It is the first project Rainbow has worked on with Canadian animation service company Bardel, which it acquired in 2015, and also marks Rainbow’s (Winx Club, Regal Academy, Mia and me, Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends) inaugural foray into preschool programming.
The series bowed last November on Italian free-to-air kids channel Rai YoYo, with record-breaking TV ratings, and has since been snapped up by Nickelodeon for a worldwide distribution, Super RTL in Germany, Discovery Kids for Latin America, Carousel in Russia, and France Télévisions in France. There has been a great response from across the international TV market, with announcements in the pipeline for major broadcasting channels in many other territories.
44 Cats is inspired by the very popular Italian kids song "44 Gatti", which, in 1968, won the 10th edition of the Zecchino d'Oro and has since entered the collective imagination of Italians.
Previously signed licensing partners for 44 Cats include Discovery Kids for exclusive L&M rights in LatAm (excluding master toy), and Hong Kong-based Toys Plus, which is gearing up to launch a range of toys including figurines, playsets and musical toys globally this fall. Simba Dickie Group has also been tapped as the line’s exclusive distributor in Europe and the Middle East.
Under the terms of Rainbow's agreement with Toys Plus, the company will develop a variety of products including interactive plush, figurines, play sets, musical toys and more based on the music, creative play patterns and collectability featured in the series. The line of merchandise debuted in Hong Kong in October 2018, and is slated to become available for purchase around the world in fall 2019.

The four protagonists live in the Clubhouse, a garage inside caring Granny Pina’s house, and love helping others with their ever creative solutions to everyday hitches. Their adventures explore the themes of friendship and altruism, tolerance, diversity and acceptance. It is the first project Rainbow has worked on with Canadian animation service company Bardel, which it acquired in 2015, and also marks Rainbow’s (Winx Club, Regal Academy, Mia and me, Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends) inaugural foray into preschool programming.
The series bowed last November on Italian free-to-air kids channel Rai YoYo, with record-breaking TV ratings, and has since been snapped up by Nickelodeon for a worldwide distribution, Super RTL in Germany, Discovery Kids for Latin America, Carousel in Russia, and France Télévisions in France. There has been a great response from across the international TV market, with announcements in the pipeline for major broadcasting channels in many other territories.
44 Cats is inspired by the very popular Italian kids song "44 Gatti", which, in 1968, won the 10th edition of the Zecchino d'Oro and has since entered the collective imagination of Italians.
Previously signed licensing partners for 44 Cats include Discovery Kids for exclusive L&M rights in LatAm (excluding master toy), and Hong Kong-based Toys Plus, which is gearing up to launch a range of toys including figurines, playsets and musical toys globally this fall. Simba Dickie Group has also been tapped as the line’s exclusive distributor in Europe and the Middle East.
Under the terms of Rainbow's agreement with Toys Plus, the company will develop a variety of products including interactive plush, figurines, play sets, musical toys and more based on the music, creative play patterns and collectability featured in the series. The line of merchandise debuted in Hong Kong in October 2018, and is slated to become available for purchase around the world in fall 2019.

Nickelodeon Names Paul DeBenedittis as New Head of Programming and Content Strategy
Nickelodeon has hired Paul DeBenedittis as Executive Vice President (EVP) Programming and Content Strategy, filling another key executive spot under new Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins. In his new position, DeBenedittis will lead content and programming strategies and oversee partnerships, acquisitions and media planning for Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nicktoons and TeenNick across platforms including linear, digital, branded apps, VOD channels, DTO and wireless. DeBenedittis will report to Robbins. The job marks a Viacom homecoming for DeBenedittis, who previously spent a decade at MTV.

He also oversaw the Disney Channel Worldwide Programming Strategy team.

Prior to The Walt Disney Company, DeBenedittis spent 10 years at MTV as Executive Vice President, Multiplatform Programming, Content Strategy and Scheduling. DeBenedittis led the programming strategy and content windowing for hit series and events including Laguna Beach, Jackass, The Osbournes, The Real World, Total Request Live, The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and The MTV Movie Awards.
