Top Elf is a new competition series in which, across five one-hour episodes, seven kid “Elf-testants” with extraordinary building and design skills compete in festive challenges to become Santa’s ‘Top Elf’ and have their wish lists granted—not for themselves, but for good causes in their hometowns.

In Top Elf, Santa (Tommy Snider) and Ms. Jingles (Samantha Turret) invite seven civilian “Elf-testants” to the North Pole to test their skills in a series of holiday-themed challenges, from designing their own life-sized gingerbread clubhouses, to reimagining Santa’s sleigh, to creating giant 3-D holiday cards. And of course, building new toys!

Each “Elf-testant" is paired with one of Santa’s elves who help bring their visions to life. Meet the elves: Chip Snuggles (Rudy Martinez), Nog Shimmerhorn (David Magidoff), Ginger O’Tingleton (Jenna Wright), Merry Sparkleberry (Nataliz Jimenez), Tinsel Turtledove (Ashley August), Zippy Twinkles (Davied Morales) and Stretch McDancerpants (Eric Stretch).

The seven skillful “Elf-testants” competing this season are: Aiko from New York; Allison from Walnut, Calif.; Briana from Los Angeles; Cameron from Georgetown, Ky.; Hopper from Highland Park, Texas; Hud from Oxford, Miss.; and Justice from Jamaica, N.Y.

At the end of each episode, “Elf-testants” are judged by Santa, Ms. Jingles and a celebrity guest to decide who is on the “nice” or “naughty" list and one step closer to being named Top Elf. Celebrity guest judges helping Santa and Ms. Jingles find the Top Elf are: Frankie Grande, Amirah Kassem, Peyton List, Alex Wassabi and Pete Wentz.

Top Elf’s original concept was created by Mike Duffy and Tim Duffy of Ugly Brother Studios, who executive produce the series along with Jimmy Fox of Main Event Media, an All3Media America company. Bob Schermerhorn (Project Runway All Stars, America’s Next Top Model) and Lisa Fletcher (The Titan Games) are executive producers, with Fletcher also serving as the showrunner. Nickelodeon’s Vice Presidents of Unscripted Content Paul J Medford and Mandel Ilagan also serve as executive producers. The series is directed by Michael Pearlman (Chopped, Project Runway All Stars). Production of Top Elf for Nickelodeon is overseen by Rob Bagshaw, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Content.

A massive congratulations once again to Cameron of being named Santa's Top Elf!

Scott County student wins 'Top Elf' honor on national TV show

GEORGETOWN -- The "Top Elf" this Christmas is a student at Scott County's Royal Spring Middle School.

Cameron Fulton, 12, won the title Saturday night during the finale of the Nickelodeon holiday competition featuring seven other youngsters.

During the finale, Cameron had to build Santa's sleigh and impress Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Earlier in the show, which began broadcasting after Thanksgiving, the young competitors had to build a Christmas card and a gingerbread house.

As the show's winner, Cameron was able to donate $25,000 to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Cameron was selected for the show from among thousands of young people who had exceptional building and design skills. He told WLEX-TV a casting agency discovered him through his Instagram account.

Cameron's dad, Ronnie, traveled with his son to Los Angeles earlier this year for the three-weeks it took to film the series.

"It was not what I as expecting," Fulton said. "It was a lot of work for everyone. By California law, Cameron could only work five hours a day and he had to keep up with his school work for another three hours each day.

"It got a little stressful."

Cameron's interest in woodworking is natural as his father is a custom furniture maker. Cameron has his own Etsy account where he sells his own creations.

"A lot of people are like, 'I want to be a surgeon because they make a lot of money," Cameron told the television station. "I'm like, 'I want to be a woodworker because it's fun.'"

HP Middle School Student Ends Run on ‘Top Elf’

A Highland Park Middle School seventh-grade student may not have been named Top Elf but left the show with lasting lessons.

Nickelodeon’s Top Elf consisted of five one-hour episodes in which seven contestants showed their building and design skills in holiday-themed challenges in hopes of winning $25,000 for their charity of choice.

Hopper Williamson, 13, was eliminated in a nail biter after fellow contestant Aiko put one more toy horse together during a head-to-head challenge in the second episode.

“I really liked being able to see a lot of how the behind-the-scenes stuff works on a big show like that. There were so many people on set making it all come to life. I want to be a fashion designer when I grow up, so I enjoyed meeting and seeing how the costume department worked,” Hopper said. “(The show) was a reminder for me that in life, sometimes there’s games with set rules and a set time, like Top Elf. I was really proud of myself for getting through each timed challenge and making it to the finish line. It was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do, but I got done before time ran out.”

His mother, Megan Williamson, said a former neighbor who was connected with the show suggested Hopper participate, and he was soon on a plane to Nickelodeon headquarters in California. The show finished filming this fall.

Hopper said he’s long enjoyed art and sketching and previously helped design costumes for a school play back when he was in fourth-grade.
