Kids can meet their favorite Turtles and get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Nickelodeon show on May 18.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been a firm favorite with fans for more than three decades, and die-hard fans can interact with the Turtles in a whole new way this summer at the Paley Center for Media in New York City, which will be hosting a 35th anniversary exclusive arrangement from Saturday, May 18 until Sunday, July 14, 2019 in collaboration with Nickelodeon!
The interactive 35 Years of TMNT exhibit will feature artwork that showcases the Turtles’ comic book history, opportunities to meet-and-greet voice actors and the Heroes In a Half-Shell themselves, and a visual timeline of the series’ evolution from comic books to the current Nickelodeon series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
35 Years of TMNT will focus tracking how the Turtles have touched readers and viewers since their release in 1984, said Charlotte Castillo, Senior Vice President (SVP), Global Franchise Planning at Viacom.
“Partnering with The Paley Center for Media to celebrate 35 years of this iconic franchise with the 35 Years of TMNT exhibit in the heart of their very own city is the perfect opportunity to honor the TMNT legacy,” Castillo added.
Opening weekend will be an awesome experience for fans — on the morning of May 18, Paley Center Corporate Members can meet-and-greet with costumed Turtles, do activities and play games, grab food, participate in giveaways, and learn all about how Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello came to life.
After the exhibit debuts, each weekend of the celebration will feature “shell-shocked” themed screenings of iconic TMNT episodes in NY and LA. Themes include TMNT Origins, Heroes will Rise!, Turtle Power, Out of the Sewers, and Turtles <3 Pizza.
The Paley Center has two locations in New York and Los Angeles. Its events aim to foster discussion of the cultural, creative, and social significance of television, radio, and emerging platforms, as well as examine the intersection of popular culture like TMNT and society. The 35 Years of TMNT exhibit is free and open to the public. Visit for more information about the 35 Years of TMNT exhibit, visit https://www.paleycenter.org/2019-tmnt-exhibit-ny/.

In New York - Opens May 18
35 Years of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
An Exhibit of Iconic Memorabilia, New TMNT Apps, Screenings, and More
Opening Day: Saturday, May 18!
The exhibit will open to the public at noon, with a special giveaway for the first 100 children in line, and a meet and greet with the Turtles from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The year was 1984. Two guys named Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, inspired by their simple doodle of a turtle in a mask, self-published a comic book for the ages, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1. And as Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello emerged into the world, they changed pop culture forever.
Five television series, five feature films, hundreds of comic books, and thirty-five years later, a global legion of fans shows its love and loyalty to the Turtles on a daily basis, watching episodes on Nickelodeon and beyond, wearing classic tees, showing up at special events, posting on social media, knowing everything there is to know about the Turtles, and raising the next generation of fans.
And now The Paley Center for Media welcomes Nickelodeon as it opens its vault to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Your journey through the Turtleverse begins with a dynamic art piece showcasing the comic-book origins of our half-shell heroes. Turn around for a “shellfie” with a Turtles standee, then take in the installation of iconic posters and products. Sewer surf through a visual timeline of the evolution of the Turtles from the very first comics to the current series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Gear up with a Turtles mask to play TMNT apps, sit back for shell-shocked screenings, express your inner Turtle with craft activities, and get in on some gnarly giveaways!
