San Francisco -- Common Sense Media, the USA's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century, has named Nickelodeon's Cousins for Life, Abby Hatcher and Corn & Peg as honorees in the organization's Spring 2019 batch of Common Sense Seal Honorees for TV, which honors the latest TV and streaming series that offer exceptional media content for families to enjoy together.
Cousins For Life is a live-action buddy comedy series that follows 12-year-old cousins and best friends Stuart (Dallas Dupree Young) and Ivy (Scarlet Spencer) as they learn to navigate life under one roof with their families in Portland, despite being from very different backgrounds. Although the cousins don’t always see eye-to-eye, they learn that they are better together, and when they team up they are unstoppable. The series made its world premiere on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 on Nickelodeon USA.
Abby Hatcher (created and produced by Spin Master Entertainment) is a CG-animated preschool series that tells the story of a little girl with a big heart who helps her friends, the amazing and quirky Fuzzly creatures, fix their mishaps, learn from their mistakes and negotiate their emotions. The series features a social-emotional curriculum highlighting empathy, compassion and problem-solving skills. In Abby Hatcher, Abby is an eternally optimistic, kind-hearted seven-year-old girl who loves to lend a helping hand to others and accepts everyone--no matter how different they are. In Abby’s world, humans coexist with Fuzzlies, incredible creatures that each have their own unique abilities that make them special, and Abby’s parents’ hotel is home to many. Together with her best Fuzzly friend Bozzly, Abby goes on wild adventures to fix Fuzzly mishaps and help them in any way she can. Whenever a problem arises Abby and Bozzly always say, “Fuzzly trouble can’t delay, to the rescue, save the day!” Abby Hatcher made its world debut on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
Corn & Peg is a animated preschool series that follows the extraordinary friendship between Corn, a loveable Unicorn, and Peg, a plucky Pegasus, who share the same unbridled enthusiasm for doing good deeds. The series features a social-emotional curriculum that highlights empathy and kindness, and a school readiness curriculum emphasizing colors, math, directions, and health and wellness. In Corn & Peg, the pair of inseparable best friends are inspired by their favorite superhero, Captain Thunderhoof—champion of all do-gooders—to make a difference and help the residents in their colorful equine community of Galloping Grove. Together, Corn and Peg are the dynamic duo of doing good, always putting others before themselves and believing that doing good feels good. Corn & Peg made its world premiere on Nickelodeon USA on Monday, March 4, 2019. The series is produced by Nelvana Studios in association with Nickelodeon Productions.
