Kenan Thompson Confirms Kel Mitchell’s Involvement on Nickelodeon's ‘All That’ Revival

Fans of the original All That will be able to look forward to some sort of Kenan & Kel reunion when the revival arrives!

Update (2/19): Kenan Thompson has announced on Twitter that Kel Mitchell will be co-producing All That with him!:

Mitchell was just as excited to share the news that he was returning to the show that gave him his big break, tweeting minutes after Thompson. "The cats officially out the bag. Let’s do this @kenanthompson," Mitchell tweeted. "It’s bout to be Lit! We Back!"
Update (2/22): “We been talking about it. It’s going down, and we not gonna let ya’ll down,” Mitchell said in a new video posted to his Twitter page.

He continued, “It’s going to be awesome” before Thompson appeared on camera and declared, “It’s the truth, baby!”

“My bro @kenanthompson and I are about to take this to a whole new level!,” the Game Shakers actor captioned the clip.

“It’s the truth baby. It’s the truth,” Thompson, who has also starred in Saturday Night Live, added.

“It’s the truth,” Mitchell agreed. “It’s going down. All That is back, baby.”

Kenan Thompson, who will serve as executive producer of the forthcoming series, revealed to Page Six at the Writers Guild Awards on Sunday (February 17, 2019) night at the Edison Ballroom that all cast members from the original series are welcome to return.

“Whoever’s down to come do it, we would love to have them in my opinion,” Thompson shared. “I know Kel [Mitchell’s] coming back, and I remember working close [sic] with Josh Server as well. I think all the old cast members should come support the new cast members. That’s just how it should go.”

Mitchell’s rep didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Although Thompson, 40, who currently appears on Saturday Night Live, will be running the ship behind-the-scenes, he teased a potential appearance on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy.

“I’m not exactly sure about that yet because I’m all tied up with my NBC stuff,” he shared, “but hopefully we’ll figure it out soon.”

Former cast member Danny Tamberelli also told Page Six that he thought the All That revival was a fantastic idea.

“I think it’s awesome!” said Tamberelli, 37. “All That was a show that reached out to so many kids from all different backgrounds and brought them all together through laughter.”

He added, “I mean, all kids agree that feet and cheese are funny punchlines.”

Tamberelli also revealed that he would love to be involved with the new show if asked!

The original All That series aired on Nickelodeon from 1994-2005. The all-new All That, featuring a new cast as well as appearances from former cast members, is set to premiere during Summer 2019.

Although Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have long gone their separate ways, the two have reunited in the past, for a Good Burger sketch on Jimmy Fallon's tonight show, on Nick Cannon's Wild ‘n Out, and most recently, on Nickelodeon's Double Dare revival.

Whilst Kenan has gone on to become SNL's longest-running cast member, Kel has stayed close to his Nickelodeon roots, guest starring on an episode of Sam & Cat, then starring in Nickelodeon's popular sitcom Game Shakers.

Of course, it’s not exactly a Kenan & Kel reunion or a Good Burger sequel, but at least the duo will be back together in some shape or form.
