Buffalo, NY - Buffalo’s fan-favorite up-and-coming jam band Aqueous recently released a brand-new studio LP, Color Wheel. In promotion of this new collection, the band is prepping to embark on their most ambitious and extensive headlining tour to date, which kicks off this weekend in St. Paul, MN, and spans through to New Year’s Eve. During the tour, the band will find themselves celebrating Halloween at Brooklyn, New York’s Knitting Factory on Wednesday 31st October 2018, in which the band, with support from Mungion will host a fun themed '90s Nicktoons themed performance, which will pay tribute and celebrate the history of Nickelodeon's iconic animated series from the '90s!
Each Halloween show, Aqueous challenges themselves to take on a theme to inform the performance. In the past, the band has chosen The Wizard of Oz, Back To The Future, and Super Mario Brothers as a template for their Halloween performances. This year, the group has chosen to pay tribute to everyone’s favorite kids channel growing up, Nickelodeon.
"We take Halloween pretty seriously over at camp AQ. In previous years we’ve done some wild themes where we’ll incorporate all the music and the whole vibe of whatever the theme is," shares Aqueous guitarist, Mike Gantzer. "This year for our show at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, we wanted to pay tribute to a golden era of cartoon history: Nick Toons! We all grew up loving shows like Doug, Rocko’s Modern Life, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Hey Arnold, Spongebob Squarepants, and the list goes on and on. The music from a lot of these shows is so awesome, and it’s gonna be a blast diving down this rabbit hole of nostalgia and blending the whole Nickelodeon vibe within the AQ sound. Add Mungion as support to the mix, and you’ve got a pretty bombastic show going down for Halloween this year."

Aqueous Delivers ‘Nick Toons’ Halloween Show In Brooklyn: Pro-Shot Video
Buffalo-based jam quartet Aqueous fit songs from Nickelodeon cartoons into their Halloween show at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn last night. Guitarist Mike Gantzer was dressed as Quailman from Doug, multi-instrumentalist Dave Loss was dressed as Chuckie from Rugrats, bassist Evan McPhaden was dressed as Rocko from Rocko’s Modern Life and drummer Rob Houk was dressed as Ren from Ren & Stimpy. Videographer MKDevo shared and streamed pro-shot video from Aqueous’ “Nick Toons” concert.
Aqueous kicked off the festivities by debuting a cover of “Killer Tofu” from the show Doug. The band then plucked the recently debuted “Realize Your Light” from their new Color Wheel album before grooving on classic “The Median.” Next, the foursome worked the theme from Catdog into the beloved original “Don’t Do It.” And fittingly, “Split The Difference” was split by the theme songs to Rocko’s Modern Life and Rugrats to end the first set.
Last night’s second set began with a sequence that paired original “Aldehyde” and the theme from Ren & Stimpy. From there, Aqueous transitioned from “Good Enough” into a debut cover of Ween’s “Ocean Man,” a song featured in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. The seamless conclusion to the set also saw openers Mungion switch out with members of Aqueous one by one for a performance of the Hey Arnold theme song. Aqueous returned to close out the frame with a run of “What’s The Connection?” > the Doug theme song > “Weight Of The Word.” The quartet ended the night by debuting their take on the Rocket Power theme song. After the first season of Nickelodeon’s Knight Squad was a major success, Daniella Perkins is ready to be reunited with her tiara & sword and see what’s to come for her character, Ciara!
Daniella Perkins' character in Knight Squad is exactly the role model young girls need right now — Ciara is brave and cunning, she knows her worth and won’t allow a man to tell her otherwise. As she prepares to film season 2, Daniella opened up to HollywoodLife.com about her hopes for Ciara, and what she wants young girls to learn from her. “I don’t want her to go to school as a princess, because I feel like Ciara is bringing something different for herself by coming in disguise,” Daniella revealed HollywoodLife.com in an fantastic interview. “So many surprises could happen, anything could happen! It could go many directions.”
The 18-year-old also knows she’s being watched by young girls and boys, and she believes Ciara is a strong role model. “She is very strong and she’s very independent, and she knows what she wants to do. So I feel like that’s really cool, especially for teenage girls, because everyone’s constantly telling you to do something, but Ciara she’s mostly like, ‘I know what I want to do with my life’ and this is what she’s going to do,” Daniella explained. “I relate to her in that way too, because I’m very driven and I know my goals in life, and I feel like that’s something girls can take away from it.”
She added that it was important for her to be representing mixed race girls on television, saying, “Growing up I didn’t really see that many girls that looked like me on TV, darker skin and everything. So being able to show girls and be a lead role on a show is really special for me, especially on a kid’s network.” You've gotta love that! Now, you may recognize Daniella from the popular app Musica.ly! She and her equally-talented sister, Devenity Perkins, went viral for their fun sister dances, and are now both gearing up to take over the music, TV and film industry!
But don’t worry guys, the sisters promise they’ll be back to doing things together soon, too! “We’re coming back to Perkins sisters. We’re gonna start making videos again together,” Daniella revealed.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers took much of its footage from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, which is actually the 16th installment of the Super Sentai series. The Green Ranger was played by Shiro Izumi, who played the role of Burai the Dragon Ranger.
While much of the footage made it into Mighty Morphin Power Ranges, Jason David Frank (who played Tommy on the show) admitted at Florida Supercon that he hasn't seen much of the original show, especially since they were cutting and splicing things together.
"I think a couple of times they showed it in the office, but the problem with that was it just didn't, it confused the American version and what we were doing because we had to cut stuff out," said Frank. "So it was confusing as it was because we didn't know what Power Rangers was, nobody did in the United States, so it was kind of confusing to see different things."
Frank also said he does remember some of the stuff that did not make it into the American series due to it being deemed too violent.
"I got a chance to watch some of it. It was a little more violent, which was cool at the time. I was like "put that in" and they were like "sorry, we can't, this is in the United States", and we were like "What! Put that footage in", but we couldn't. They cut a lot of the cool."
Fans can catch the current season of Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel on Nickelodeon USA. The next instalment of the iconic franchise, Power Rangers Beast Morphers, is set to premiere on Nickelodeon during early 2019.
