TUCSON, Ariz. - A 12-year-old Tucson boy is getting the chance that many kids dream off - he's going to be on Nickelodeon!
Josh Lopez will be on Nickelodeon's hit competition series Lip Sync Battle Shorties on Friday, November 2 at 7pm ET/PT.
Josh grew up in Tucson and he started dancing at the age of two. When he was four, he started training at DansWest Studio. Josh has appeared in the film, Wish Man, three Kids Bop music videos and commercials for Universal Studios.
In the episode, "British Royal Palace, Western Movie Town, the White House", three new Shorties sync it up to hits from Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX, Maroon 5 and Beyoncé in performances set in a British Royal palace, a Western movie town and the White House lawn!

Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products to Launch 'Spotlight' Merchandise Inspired by Nickelodeon Germany's Hit Show
Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products (VNCP) is preparing to launch its first range of merchandise inspired by Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland), Austria (Österreich) and Switzerland's (Schweiz) hit daily drama series Spotlight!
Spotlight will be the first locally-produced German series that VNCP will create a consumer products' line for. Currently in development, the line of Spotlight merchandise include items in product categories such as Apparel & Fashion, Accessories, Home Entertainment (DVDS & CDS), as well as Stationery & Back to School, after which there will be a gradual further expansion of the product line.
Nickelodeon is working with Münster-based agency Dreispur to being the Spotlight merchandise line to life.
Spotlight follows a group of teenagers who study at the "Berlin School of Arts", a fictional school that combines artistic education with regular education. The series, currently in its third season - which premiered in September 2018, stars: Lea Mirzanli (Azra), Dennis Oertel (Jannik), Lisa Küppers (Rubi), Luana Knöll (Toni), Ben Rummler, Jesina Amweg (Lotte), and singer Mike Singer (Luke) will be joined by newcomers Chiara Tews, Malcom Meckert, Simon Zeller (Milan), Nevena Schöneberg, Moritz Bäckerling (Mo), Chiara Tews (Greta) and Moritz Schirdewahn (Tim), and Malcom Meckert (Rocco), among others.

Nickelodeon Benelux Teams Up with Dutch Supermarket Hoogvliet for New Kids Healthy Eating Initiative
Nickelodeon Benelux has teamed up with Dutch supermarket Hoogvliet to launch a brand-new initiative to inspire children to eat more healthily!
In recent years, there has been a strong trend in Europe in which consumers have become more increasingly aware of the food they buy and eat. However, a group that still lags behind this trend is often the children's. Hoogvliet wants to change this, and have partnered with Nickelodeon to launch a new Nickelodeon children's fruit concept.
In the initiative, to encourage children to eat more fruit, children who take a Nickelodeon-branded fruit bowl filled with 120g of grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers or pepper punnets to school are rewarded with a reward card that will be inside each bowl. The idea of the initiative is that, by the time kids have collected 32 cards, they will have got acclimatised to healthy snacks, and thus will continue to eat more healthily. When they have collected all the 32 cards, they will double as a Happy Families card game.
The trend towards eating healthily continues strongly, and even schools try to get children to eat fruit by obliging parents to give children a healthy snack.
Each pack will feature popular Nickelodeon characters, such as SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Shimmer and Shine (Shimmer en Shine) and PAW Patrol.
To promote the healthy Nickelodeon snacks, Hoogvliet have designed colourful eye-catching display cabinets, designed to encourage children to ask their parents to buy fruit for them.
The Nickelodeon Fruit Bowls will launch at retail in November (week #44), and will be priced at €1 per bowl. The range will also be adding more Nickelodeon Fruit Bowls in the coming months, as well as a box filled with tangerines. When empty, the box can be used as a toy to play with. California’s Bagdasarian Productions and French studio Technicolor Animation produce the series, with Paris-based distributor PGS representing the distribution rights worldwide, excluding France.
Production on a new batch of 52 x 11-minute episodes starts next month, with writing, producing and directing shared between the two co-producers.
Existing seasons of the series currently air on Nickelodeon channels worldwide, on SVOD service Hulu, and on international broadcasters such as M6 (France), Gloob (Brazil), Super RTL (Germany), RTBF/OufTIVI (Belgium), RTS (Switzerland) and K2 (Italy). Originally created in 1958, the property is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
In addition to the media rights, PGS Entertainment also holds the international licensing and merchandising rights for ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks, excluding the U.S. and France.
Presented in CGI-animation, the classic comedy toon reflects the trials and tribulations of a single parent, David Seville, trying to raise six hyper-active Chipmunks - Alvin, Simon and Theodore and the Chippettes, Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette. Like most parents, Dave’s patience will be pushed to the limit, forcing him to end most sentences in “ALVINNN!!!” The series takes viewers on a roller coaster ride of music, laughter and stories geared to entertain the Chipmunks’ four generations of fans and features a new, original Chipmunk song in every episode. The show is an energetic mix of music, comedy and stories aimed at entertaining Chipmunks fans of all ages.
Originally created in 1958, the property is celebrating its landmark 60th anniversary this year.
