Professional freestyle skateboarder Kyle Matthew Hamilton made his Broadway debut as one of the Electric Skates and others in the must-see musical SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical. The incredibly captivating Kyle began his journey with SpongeBob as the skateboarding consultant for the Chicago production and now slays B'way audiences as a standout in the show's colorful cast of characters that inhabit Bikini Bottom.

Basic Fish



I love that this costume blends various skate and surf brands—perfect for this skateboard dude. A couple of my outfits include skateboard shoes and this is one of them with a comfy pair of Nike SB kicks. For a very physical guy like myself, I need to wear clothes that I can move freely in and this costume hits the mark. I also perform other Bikini Bottom characters by adding different hats but letting that Bart Simpson hair fly in this basic costume feels so dope.

Sardine



This costume is really fun to perform in but has been a learning experience for me. Our cast moves so quickly in the "Super Sea Star Savior" number that I had to learn how to calculate certain moves without accidentally stepping on the dress and slipping on the floor. I’ll admit, I’ve taken a few heavy slams learning how a dress moves with the body. Now that I’ve got the science down to dancing in this costume, I want to go skateboarding in it!

Snake, the Electric Skate



I love skateboarding on-stage in this outfit. The hardest part about getting in and out of this costume is that the tattoo sleeves are a tightly thin mesh material so once I get sweaty (99% of the show) it’s a total struggle. Some of David Zinn’s tattoo designs on this costume are so freaking rad they make me contemplate getting them for real on my own body. Hidden fact and not originally intended when designing this costume but, the bandana wrist bands on this costume have become wrist guards to me when I shred through various handstand skate tricks.

F in BFF



A dope combination of my Basic Fish outfit mixed with a giant pink and yellow F for the awesome "BFF" song. Learning movement with this giant letter costume is hard because of your limited vision but once you have learned the dynamics of balance and how to move freely it becomes way more fun. Dancing in this number with the other B and F letters is such a treat, and I love acting like a doofus in this costume when I’m not on.

Catherine Ricafort on achieving Broadway dreams, starring as Karen the Computer in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical


NEW YORK — A industrial and systems engineer turned Broadway actress has finally got a role suited to her University of Southern California degree.

Filipino American actor Catherine Ricafort plays the role of Plankton's long-suffering wife Karen the Computer in the Tony-winning and 12-time Tony-nominated musical, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical.

The musical is based on Nickelodeon's hit animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants

“It’s a character that many people have known and grown up with watching the TV show all these years, and so it’s a challenge to honor that original character from the tv show but also make it my own,” Ricafort told Balitang America.

From Mamma Mia, Cinderella, Allegiance, to Miss Saigon – Catherine is now on her eighth Broadway show.

This time, she is showing a different side to her acting skills.



“I’m playing a computer, she is the kontrabida, she is the villain… I’m always scheming with evil plans trying to make things go wrong and yet she is funny and very likeable, so this is one of my favorite roles I’ve played on Broadway so far.”

Fun characters in colorful costumes, an award-winning scenic design, and big showstopping musical numbers. This musical promises to give fans, especially kids, everything they would love to see in a Broadway show.

Catherine shares tips for aspiring Fil-Ams hoping to make it on Broadway.

“Embrace who you are, once people started auditioning in New York, they get intimidated and the try to exactly fit what they think the role is asking for, but I have found that just by being me, I’m just letting that shine through the material.”

Ben & Jensen Release 'In da Arcade' Animated Video Featuring 40 Iconic Video Games

After comedy hip-hop duo Ben & Jensen reached 116 million people with their recent mega-viral Back To The 90s music video, they charted at #11 on the Billboard digital charts and joined the Backstreet Boys in Las Vegas. Now, Ben & Jensen are set to premiere their next nostalgic music video In Da Arcade on September 10!


Actor/director Ben Giroux and songwriter/artist Jensen Reed have teamed up with Nickelodeon star Kira Kosarin (The Thundermans) and MTV personality Melanie Iglesias for their newest retro music video. In Da Arcade celebrates video games from the '80s and '90s.

Giroux explains, "After we built a global audience around nostalgia with Back To The 90s, we wanted to follow that project up with an even more epic throwback concept. In Da Arcade was born: we've spent the last year animating ourselves into over 40 iconic video games. Our new music video is really a massive homage to the arcades of our childhoods."

Reed continues, "The bangin' hip-hop beat is composed mostly of 8-bit video game sound effects. We've also intercut custom animation with high-energy live action performances from the incredibly talented Kira Kosarin and Melanie Iglesias. It was fun to take another trip down memory lane on this project. We feel it will resonate with anyone who grew up playing Pacman, Donkey Kong, and Mortal Kombat, as well as the younger generation because retro games are cool again."


Fans will recognize Giroux from his starring role on Nickelodeon's animated series Bunsen Is a Beast and his recurring role as The Toddler on Nickelodeon's Henry Danger and The Adventures of Kid Danger. In addition, he has appeared in guest roles on dozens of television shows, including Hart of Dixie, NCIS, Bones, House, Psych, Anger Management, 2 Broke Girls, and more. Under his Small Red Cape production banner, Giroux produces a wide variety of short-form viral content with producers Scott Thomas Reynolds, Marc Barnes, Jonathan Rosenbloom, Jordan Zahner, and Shaun Ritter.

Jensen Reed is a Los Angeles based songwriter/artist/producer, voice-over actor, and comedy music video assassin. As a musician, Reed has collaborated with several award-winning talents and his music has been featured on CSI: NY, Showtime's House of Lies, Friday Night Lights, MTV, VH1, and more. Reed has also voiced national voice-over campaigns for dozens of global brands.

NEW YORK, Sept. 7, 2018 -- Mattel Inc. debuts today in the Nick Jr. preschool block on Nickelodeon, the brand-new season of Thomas & Friends, a game changing event in children's television that is part of a strategic brand relaunch which includes a two-year alliance with the United Nations. This is the first collaboration between a preschool brand and multiple UN entities to promote the SDGs via content to inspire the next generation of global citizens


Olivia Wilde, Actress, Filmmaker, Activist, and Mother at the United Nations on September 7th to join a panel discussion supporting the Thomas & Friends UN collaboration to promote the SDGs. She discussed why having programs like this can be so impactful to families in today’s world.

As part of the brand relaunch, the Thomas & Friends production team collaborated with the UN Department of Public Information's Creative Community Outreach Initiative to develop content inspired by 6 of the 17 SDGs that were most appropriate for a preschool audience and fitting to the Thomas & Friends brand values. This included the SDG's #4 Quality Education; #5 Gender Equality; #6 Clean Water and Sanitation, #11 Sustainable Cities and Communities; #12 Responsible Consumption and Production, and #15 Life on Land. This collaboration will further come to life with parent tips, activity sheets and short-form content available on a new microsite AllAboardForGlobalGoals.com that launches today. The content and parent targeted materials looks to introduce preschoolers around the world to the concept of global citizenship and start meaningful conversations between parents and children.

This all-new format series launching today in the Nick Jr. preschool block on Nickelodeon, will feature faster-paced action, increased humor and music, new international friends, animals and exciting fantasy elements. The key highlights include:

  • New global locations: For the first time in the series' history, Thomas leaves Sodor to travel discovering new cultures and countries including China, India and Australia. The series will include 13 episodes in Sodor; 5 episodes in China; 4 episodes in India; and 4 episodes in Australia.
  • New Steam Team: A new gender-balanced Steam Team will be introduced, made up of three male and three female characters as well as Thomas. This change will deepen the brand's engagement with girls who represent over 40% of the show's viewership and provide a strong message of gender equality to the young audience.

Poland - Polish supermarket chain Stokrotka has partnered with Nickelodeon Polska to launch a brand-new loyalty campaign called "Odkryj Cuda Świata”!


The promotion features a special collectable guide featuring interesting facts about the wonders of the world featuring popular characters from a range of Nickelodeon shows, including Dora the Explorer, Shimmer and Shine, Blaze and the Monster Machines (Blaze), PAW Patrol, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Mikey).


During the campaign period, Stokrotka customers can redeem a special "Odkryj Cuda Świata” packet containing four stickers and a stamp every time they spend 30 zł in a Stokrotka store. Additional sachets can be obtained when a customer purchases specially marked premium products. Fans can collect 144 stickers. The stamps can be glued into the Collector's Card available in the store for 7,99 zł. Nickelodeon Brazil Celebrates 35 Years of Slime with 'Slime É Nick' Initiative

Brazil - In celebration of Slime's 35th birthday, Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) has launched Slime É Nick, a brand-new multi-channel marketing campaign and contest which invites kids to join in all the gooey fun!


Aligned with the Slime Fever that has gripped kids for the past couple of years, Nickelodeon, widely regarded as the inventor of slime, invites kids to create videos demonstrating how they make their own homemade slime and to submit them to Nickelodeon for their chance to win tickets to Meus Prêmios Nick 2018. The creators of the 100 best slime-making videos will win three pairs of tickets to attend Nickelodeon's Brasil's 19th annual local version of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards! Kids can enter by uploading their videos to their Instagram pages and posting them with the hashtags #slimeénick, #cidade and #idade, in addition to tagging @nickelodeonbr. Profiles must be open to the public to be eligible to win. The contest runs between Monday 3rd September - Sunday 14th October 2018. Nickelodeon comemora 35 anos de slime


Criadora do Slime, a Nick vai premiar 100 crianças com convites para a 19ª edição dos Meus Prêmios Nick


Haverá toda uma programação dedicada aos melhores momentos do slime tanto no Brasil como no mundo, assim como vídeos de como fazer seu próprio slime, de forma única e inusitada


Em comemoração aos 35 anos do nascimento do Slime, a Nickelodeon está promovendo o concurso SLIME É NICK – que tem início em 03 de setembro e vai até 14 de outubro e lança uma campanha de marketing multicanal.

Alinhada com a febre que atingiu as crianças no último ano, a Nick, como criadora da “meleca”, convida os pequenos a mostrarem como produzem seu próprio slime. O concurso visa premiar 100 crianças com três pares de convites para a 19ª edição do MPN. Para participar, basta enviar um vídeo através do instagram, no qual a criança faz o seu próprio slime, e usar as #: #slimeénick, #cidade e #idade, além de marcar @nickelodeonbr. O perfil precisa estar aberto.

Os 100 vídeos mais criativos receberão convites para o evento. Os trinta melhores, além dos convites, poderão aparecer no YouTube da Nickelodeon e 12 deles, também aparecerão na TV! Menores de 13 anos deverão postar os vídeos através dos perfis de seus pais. Além disso, um grande ganhador irá aos Meus Prêmios Nick e poderá visitar o tão sonhado backstage do evento, podendo conhecer ao vivo os influenciadores e os YouTubers mais queridos da criançada.

“Como criadora da meleca verde mais famosa do mundo, a Nick não poderia ficar de fora nesse momento em que o slime conquistou de vez o coração das crianças. Para celebrar, estamos desenvolvendo toda uma campanha multicanal que vai deixar tudo ainda mais divertido”, diz Lara Mascarenhas, Diretora de MKT, da Nickelodeon Brasil. “Além do concurso, que é o pontapé inicial da campanha, teremos a criação de páginas nos canais da Nickelodeon e nas redes sociais, com conteúdos históricos do slime com celebridades conhecidas globalmente sendo slimadas”, acrescenta Lara.

Desde os anos 80, todo o conteúdo da Nick está totalmente conectado ao slime. Essa meleca verde surgiu em 1982, no programa Can´t Do That on Television e quatro anos depois, o game show Double Dare, popular na Nick nos anos 80, trouxe pela primeira vez desafios e provas cheias de slime. Os anos se passaram e o slime foi ficando cada vez mais conhecido. Em 2010, Katy Perry recebeu o mais épico banho de slime de todos os tempos no Kids´Choice Awards. Em 2014, David Beckham tomou o primeiro banho de slime dourado da história no Kids’ Choice Sports.

Então, desde então, o Slime começou a ser parte obrigatória em eventos e parques temáticos da Nick. Quase 10 anos atrás, a Nickelodeon realizou o tour SLIME na América, aumentando a popularidade e o poder cool e divertido de ser slimado. Ou seja, era uma honra poder levar um banho de slime no Kids´Choice Awards.

“Slime é o símbolo máximo da bagunça livre e divertida. É a incorporação física do espírito lúdico, irreverente e nada convencional da Nickelodeon”, diz Jimmy Leroy, VP de Criação da Nickelodeon América Latina. “De momentos memoráveis da cultura pop a experiências com novas linhas de produtos, a Nickelodeon vem há anos slimando o mundo”, completa Leroy.

'I Am Frankie' Season 2 Sneak Peeks | Nickelodeon USA

Feels like things are getting real…again! To celebrate Nickelodeon USA starting to premiere I Am Frankie season two weeknights at 8:00pm ET/PT from Monday, September 10, Nick USA has unveiled a super sneak-peek from the all-new season, which you can watch in the fantastic sneak-peek below!:



In I Am Frankie season two, Frankie has finally acclimated to teenage life at Sepulveda High with the help of her best friend Dayton (Nicole Alyse Nelson) and their tight-knit group of loyal confidantes. However, things quickly become complicated when a new android arrives at the school, and the world finally learns that androids exist, and the military company, WARPA (Weaponized Android Research Project Agency), returns with a new threat. Throughout the season, Frankie aims to keep her true identity a secret, while protecting her family and friends and attempting to live a normal life.

Planning an Escape" (#203), Frankie is determined to rescue Andrew, and the gang turns to Tammy for help; Andrew pays the price for refusing to cooperate with WARPA; two new students start at Sepulveda High. In Nick's super sneak-peek, "Saving Andrew", Frankie is determined to save Andrew, especially after all that he has done for her!
