Kira Kosarin Calls Out Online Trolls Who Think She's Dumb Because Of Her Body Confidence

Kira Kosarin isn’t having it with the body shaming, and brain shaming, trolls online.


The actor - star of Nickelodeon's The Thundermans - and singer headed to social media to have a little rant about comments she sees about how being physically confident online automatically means you are not smart.

“People see me post bikini pics on IG and then are ~shocked~ to meet me and hear about my academic history, political involvement, and general intellectual curiosity and education,” she wrote on Twitter.

Kira adds, “When did being physically confident and having intellectual integrity become mutually exclusive???”

She has an amazing point! Just because Kira, or anyone else are showing off their body confidence, doesn’t mean they’re unintelligent at all. In fact, I’d say that’s quite the opposite!

Nickelodeon UK Releases 'Living Loud: Summer School' Online Multiplayer Game

NICKELODEON UK RELEASES NEW ONLINE MULTIPLAYER GAME



London, July 2 2018 – Nickelodeon UK & Ireland today releases its second online multiplayer game, Living Loud: Summer School. It’s the sequel to Living Loud: Lincoln’s List, which launched last summer and has continued to be the biggest game on nicktoons.co.uk since the site’s launch. The game can be found at www.nicktoons.co.uk/summer.

Living Loud: Summer School has been developed by London-based creative agency, Ralph, who also produced the Tinkershrimp & Dutch animated series for the broadcaster.

The Living Loud: Summer School game is an immersive adventure game set in various locations which will be familiar to Loud House viewers, including the interior of the Loud House (as per Lincoln’s List) but also many new places such as the school, the park and the exterior of the Loud House.

Summer holidays have arrived for students at Royal Woods Elementary school, but a bad report card means that Lincoln has lots of extra homework to do over the holidays. Lincoln must improve his school report by tackling mini-quests relating to each of his six subjects. Each task is based in a specific location in the Loud House universe, however (with the exception of the final ‘boss level’ task) they can be approached in any order and players can switch tasks/locations at any point. Within each location, there will also be medals Lincoln can earn by performing certain tasks and collecting certain items (items can be distributed across different locations).

Key Highlights for Living Loud: Summer School

  • Simple and intuitive controls for all playing devices
  • Map interface movement accessed in the User Interface
  • Task activation for players on each level which Lincoln needs to improve on giving users the chance to move from fail to pass once the task is completed
  • New day/night functionality that is integral to completing tasks and achieving medals; players will need to strategically switch between day to night to progress through the game.
  • Two-player functionality
  • Fun, shareable GIFs/badges which communicate the humour of the show and encourage players to share progress with friends, thereby enticing other potential players to come and have a go. There will be no direct social network links.

Nickelodeon Continues Expansion In Japan With Launch On Amazon Prime Video Channels

TOKYO, 2 JULY 2018 – Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) today announced a channel distribution deal with Amazon, which will make Nickelodeon Japan and MTV MIX available on Amazon Prime Video Channels from tomorrow (3 July).

Amazon Prime members are able to access the newly added subscription channels when they register on Prime Video Channels, a new service which launched on 14 June.

The rollout of Nickelodeon Japan and MTV MIX on Amazon Prime Video Channels follow their successful launch since last year in Japan. Both channels are available in Japan only on ‘over-the-top’ video platforms.

“OTT video services, like Amazon Prime Video, represent an exciting growth path for our flagship brands in a mature subscription TV market like Japan. BURBANK, Calif.-July 2, 2018- Nickelodeon today announced it has greenlit 20 episodes of Los Casagrandes (working title), a spinoff of animated hit The Loud House. Los Casagrandes follows Lincoln Loud's friend Ronnie Anne and her extended family, the Casagrandes, living together in the big city and exploring the endless possibilities urban life has to offer. The greenlight comes on the heels of a successful premiere week of The Loud House, ranking as the number one show across television with Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11 (6/25/18-6/28/18).

"Nickelodeon is proud to expand The Loud House universe by offering a new perspective on family life with Los Casagrandes," said Chris Viscardi, Nickelodeon's Senior Vice President of Animation Production and Development. "There's no better time than today to tell stories about a kid growing up in a loving, multi-generational, diverse family."


Los Casagrandes features Ronnie Anne and her brother Bobby Santiago as they adjust to their new life in Great Lakes City, where they now live with their big, loving and chaotic multi-generational family, the Casagrandes. In the series, Ronnie Anne makes new friends, build stronger bonds with her relatives and explores the endless possibilities of city life. Bobby helps Grandpa Hector run the family's corner store, and becomes familiar with the neighborhood's quirky characters.

The Casagrande family was first introduced in the The Loud House special, "The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos," which was recently nominated for an Imagen Award. The family will continue to appear throughout The Loud House season three, currently airing on Nickelodeon, and will be featured in a five-episode arc in season four. The Loud House centers on 11-year-old Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of a huge family.

The Loud House is co-executive produced by Mike Rubiner (KaBlam!), who will also serve as co-executive producer on Los Casagrandes alongside producer Karen Malach. Award-winning cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz (Coco) will serve as a cultural consultant and consulting producer for the five-episode arc of The Loud House featuring the Casagrandes.

Nick Announces Call For Entries For The 2019 Nickelodeon Artist Program

Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, has announced that they are looking for entrants for the networks 2019 Nickelodeon Artist Program!


Nickelodeon can't create the most awesome kids television in the world without the most awesome artists in the world. Nickelodeon provides a six month position to aspiring artists and offers offer aspiring artists, with diverse backgrounds and experiences, the opportunity to hone their artistic skills while getting paid to work on Nickelodeon's 2D and CG animated television shows. Best. Job. Ever.!

Nickelodeon's world renowned Nickelodeon Artist Program helps make the term “starving artist” a thing of the past by helping artists live their dream of having fun and getting paid!

Nickelodeon's Artist Program offers two creative avenues to pursue: The General Track and Storyboard Track. The General Track offers hands-on experience working with established color, background, character, and prop artists, while the Storyboard Track offers hands-on experience working with lead storyboard artists.

The Nick Artist Program 2019 submission period is now open and closes on Wednesday 1st August 2018 at 11:59 PM (PST).

Entrants to the 2019 Nickelodeon Artist Program must be 18 years or older to participate. You must possess and present evidence of identity and United States employment eligibility (valid for the duration of the Program). If you have previously applied to the Program and have not been selected, you are welcome and encouraged to apply again. However, you are required to submit an updated portfolio or storyboard, supplemental materials, and/or reel each time you apply.

Nickelodeon will notify each semi-finalists of their 2019 Artist Program by the end of September 2018, with finalists being notified no later than October 2018. Chosen artists will be notified no later than November 2018. (Notification dates are subject to change).

Butch Hartman Kickstarting Oaxis Online Platform [Updated]

Creator of such hit Nick shows as Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, T.U.F.F. Puppy and Bunsen Is a Beast will head service that caters to family programming of all types.


LOS ANGELES -- Former Nickelodeon producer and creator Butch Hartman is launching Oaxis Entertainment, a new online streaming service dedicated to nonstop family-focused programming planned to launch in 2019.

With the help of the community and Kickstarter, he plans to raise more than $250,000 in 30 days to kick-off the project. Funds raised will go towards the development of the subscription-based platform, hiring creative producers and staff to generate original content, and acquiring material that aligns with Oaxis’ family-focused mission.

Programming on Oaxis will include everything from animated series, drama, comedy, feature films, sports, fitness, reality, news, video games and everything viewers expect from a premiere entertainment service.

Additionally, Oaxis Entertainment will have a user-based upload feature that will allow users to upload their own family-focused content for others to enjoy. All user-submitted content will go through the “Oaxis filter,” ensuring that it is suitable for viewers of all ages before it becomes live on the platform.


Butch Hartman is using Kickstarter to fund Oaxis Entertainment, a streaming platform for family-focused entertainment.

“As a family man working in Hollywood my goal has always been to provide quality entertainment that everyone can enjoy,” says Hartman. “With Oaxis, I now have an opportunity to give families the chance to connect and experience quality entertainment together again.”

Butch Hartman is using Kickstarter to fund Oaxis Entertainment, a streaming platform for family-focused entertainment.

Hartman is known for spearheading some of Nickelodeon’s most successful animated series, including Danny Phantom, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Bunsen is a Beast and The Fairly OddParents, which is currently Nickelodeon’s third longest-running animated series behind SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer.

Hang out with Nickelodeon at Pacific Fair these school holidays! Head to the Nick Activity Zone for non-stop fun!

What can you do?

- Direct your very own Nickelodeon stop-motion cartoon, featuring all your fave Nick characters

- Get your face painted to genie-fy your look at the Shimmer & Shine glamour zone

- Earn your very own PAW Patrol scooter licence at the PAW Patrol Road Scooter Safety Track

- Build a unique, self-powered junk yard balloon car at the Rusty Rivets craft area

- Crawl your way through a TURTELY AWESOME 10-metre inflatable obstacle course inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Get your photo taken with genies-in-training Shimmer & Shine, PLUS, for the first time ever, meet your favourite creator, maker, and do-it-yourselfer Rusty Rivets!

We're transforming into the home of everything Nickelodeon these school holidays! Kids can enjoy a range of FREE Nickelodeon play zones ft. their favourite Nick Jr. characters: Shimmer and Shine, Rusty Rivets and Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - read on for details!

PLAY ZONES

Direct a Nick cartoon with all of their favourite Nickelodeon characters. Take the reigns of the gadget machine and hit targets for the chance to win some great prizes! Behind Hollywood mirrors, kids can genie-fy their look and get glamorous at the Nick Jr.’s Shimmer and Shine glamour zone and kids will have a ball on the Nick Jr.’s PAW Patrol Road Scooter Safety Track – where they can earn their Nick Jr.’s PAW Patrol scooter licence by obeying the road rules as they make their way around the track!

Rusty Rivets Junkyard
Build a junkyard balloon car just like Nick Jr.'s Rusty Rivets by reusing unwanted items and creating a unique, self-powered car using parts headed for recycling

Meet Rusty from Nick Jr.'s hit show Rusty Rivets
Where: Level 1, near Event Cinemas
When: 10am – 4pm daily (rotating 20 minute appearances with a 20 minute break)

Shimmer and Shine Craft Area
Use your magic to get craft in the Nick Jr.'s Shimmer and Shine workshop
Where: The Resort, near JD Sports
When: 10am – 4pm daily

Meet and get a photo with your favourite genies, Nick Jr.'s Shimmer & Shine!
