Nickelodeon's hit original animated series (Nicktoon) SpongeBob SquarePants has been nominated in the best 'International Animation' series category of the 2018 BAFTA Children's Awards, and Nickelodeon's hit daily scripted series Hunter Street has been nominated for 'International Live Action'!
Additionally, Hey Duggee, which airs on Nick Jr. USA, and The Deep, which airs on Nickelodeon Greece also picked up nominations in the 2018 British Academy Children's Awards, for 'Pre-School - Animation' and 'International Animation', respectively. Hey Duggee: The Counting Badge has also been nominated in the 'Digital' category.
The British Academy Children's Awards have been restructured somewhat this year. The Independent Production Company of the Year award has been nixed, and the International category expanded to include three separate awards for International Animation, International Preschool and International Live Action. The lineup now features a new Digital category, but the Interactive and Learning awards are no more. BAFTA has also added a new Content for Change category to recognise efforts to help kids improve the world.
The trophies will be handed out to the winners on Thursday 25th November 2018, as part of a ceremony taking place at the Roundhouse performing arts venue in London, UK.
The British Academy Children’s Awards, BAFTA’s annual ceremony celebrating the best in global children’s media, takes place at Roundhouse, London, on Sunday 25 November.
