Drake Bell Visits the 'Drake & Josh' House, But It's Gone! [Updated]

Say it isn’t so!

Drake Bell was feeling nostalgic and decided to make a trip to the old Drake & Josh house, but he discovered that it was no longer there!

“The Drake & Josh House is GONE!!” he captioned the Twitter video below.

In the video, Drake shows off the empty lot and says, “What’s up, everybody? I came to check out the Drake & Josh house, and it is gone! All that remains is this mailbox.”

“We know one person did it 😂 Megan 😂😂,” one fan commented, referring to Miranda Cosgrove‘s character, while another wrote, “Noooo my childhood😭😭😫.”

I might be crying a little bit, too.

The house was, of course, only used for exterior shots on Drake & Josh. The teen sitcom aired on Nickelodeon for four seasons from 2004 to 2007, including a pair of TV movies that premiered on the network in 2006 and 2008. Although it has been over a decade since the show ended, it remains a millennial classic, and it has been the subject of tons of reboot or reunion rumors over the last few years.

Although the house of was only used as exterior shots, the news follows the revelation that another iconic part of Nickelodeon's history was being torn down - Nickelodeon on Sunset, Nickelodeon's West Coast studios where much of the interior shots of Drake & Josh were filmed.

As the eponymous stars of the show, Drake Bell and Josh Peck have fanned the flames of possible bringing the series back a few times in the past, but all hope seemed lost after Bell vented about not being invited to Peck's wedding last year. However, Bell has since said that he and Peck have worked past that drama and have never stopped being brothers, adding in that he is always down for a Drake & Josh reboot whenever Peck is.

The former "Drake & Josh" star also tells TooFab how he really feels about his sitcom house being demolished.

Drake Bell was not a happy camper when he went back to the house at the center of the beloved Nickelodeon comedy series, "Drake & Josh," only to find rubble.

"All that remains is this mailbox," he revealed in a video he shared on Twitter last week of his disappointing trip down memory lane.

The house in Encino, California, was demolished more than a decade after the final episode of the 2004 teen sitcom aired -- and Drake feels that was the wrong move.

"I think the Smithsonian should have been involved," the actor-turned-musician joked when he stopped by Studio TooFab. "There should have been petitions. I think there was a petition -- there had to have been! There's enough love for it that [a petition] didn't have to be created by someone involved with the show, and that's why it should have been a historical landmark."



But TooFab couldn't help but notice that Drake seemed a bit on edge when asked if he reached out to his former co-star, Josh Peck, following the demolition.

"Um, well, you know, we uh -- I haven't talked to Josh in a little while," he said as he squirmed in his seat. "No, I didn't text him about it. He went over there with David [Dobrik] a while ago while the house was still up. Yeah, but, uh -- which was cool for him. He got to see it before it was torn down. I don't know, Josh is busy doing stuff."

When asked if there was any shade intended with his response, Drake said there was none.

"No shade at all!" he said. "I love the kid. The thing is we're just super busy."

Last summer, Josh Peck married longtime girlfriend Paige O'Brien. To Drake's surprise, he did not receive an invite and vented about it on Twitter, writing and later deleting, "When you're not invited to the wedding, the message is clear... True colors have come out today. Message is loud and clear. Ties are officially cut. I'll miss you, brotha."

The two seemingly patched things up at the 2017 MTV VMAs, where Josh told TooFab he and Drake "reconnected."

"It was just kind of weird," Drake told TooFab about the snub. "We're bros, we've been friends for 20 years, we've spent the majority of our lives together. I don't know... I think what bugged me about it is that it seemed like an obvious [choice]... I was on the 'no' list! I think that just kind of bummed me out."

Drake also said he was "blown away" when his tweets about the wedding made headlines.

"It must've been such a slow news day. I was just praying for Trump to tweet something!" he joked. "I thought [Josh] might see [the tweet] and be like, 'Oh, I should've invited him.' I didn't think it was gonna catch on like wildfire and just be the biggest news. It blew my mind how much press it got."

When asked if he ever got an explanation from Josh, Drake jokingly said, "He doesn't like me! And the extra chicken would have been really expensive -- like another $7.95 or something like that."

Drake took on a slightly more serious tone when he said, "It was a small wedding -- I think there was something like 30 or 50 people there," adding that Josh told him his "wife handled it."

When asked if Josh would be receiving an invite to his wedding when the time came, Drake blurted out, "absolutely not."

"He didn't invite me to the wedding," he joked. "I'm not gonna let him have a piece of my cake 'cause my cake's gonna be really good, and I didn't get to have any of his... No, I'm just messing. Of course! Josh is always invited. We have crazy schedules, so that's the thing, we're not always together. But it is all water under the bridge. We're like brothers."

Drake Bell on New Music, Touring and a Potential 'Drake and Josh' Reunion

Drake Bell has been playing music since he was in his early teens, honing his sound over the years as he made a name for himself as one of the two titular characters on Nickelodeon's beloved '00s sitcom Drake & Josh.

Now, he's still working as both an actor and a musician, creating slick pop songs that draw from a multitude of influences that showcase the star's versatility as an artist and willingness to explore new sounds, with Bell ultimately churning out tracks that his fans can't get enough of.

After recently releasing a pair of singles, Bell is now preparing to share more new music with fans, which he's able to do on his own time as an independent artist.

"I've got all kinds of music coming out," he told PopCulture.com. "I've been collaborating with different artists, producers, so there's everything from urban to pop to Latin, all different kinds of stuff."

Thanks to his relationship with his fans on social media, Bell is able to hear their feedback and use it to influence his creative process.

"I can have direct connections with my fans and let them hear songs before they're even finished and get their reaction to things. It's just a lot cooler and you just feel much more free as an artist," he explained. "Especially with today's technology, I know what my fans want."

The 32-year-old is also getting ready to hit the road, but first, he'll perform a benefit concert in Orlando, Florida on August 14, with net proceeds to benefit onePULSE Foundation.

"I love being able to get on stage and see the fans," Bell said of performing. "The fun part is being able to see those who find themselves at one of my concerts not knowing what to expect and then see that we play real music and it's all cool stuff."

Bell began his journey as an artist back when he was starring on Nickelodeon, first on The Amanda Show and then on Drake and Josh, and his role as the fictional Drake Parker enabled him to make a seamless transition from the screen to the stage.

"My character on the show was named Drake and he played guitar and all the pieces that I played on the show I wrote and created," he explained. "And when I went and played live, or when I made my records, it was the same music. It was the same person. It was the same everything. And it wasn't weird for me to have a guitar in my hand."

With all the reboots and reunions currently happening in the television world, it's easy to imagine that fans would be thrilled to see Bell and co-star Josh Peck reunite on the small screen. According to Bell, the possibility is there.

"Absolutely, I'd be up for a reboot," he said. "I'm down and I'd love to. It's just kind of like scheduling and all that. A lot of stuff that has to come together for something like that to actually happen, but it's definitely not off the table. Knowing Josh and the way that I've talked to him about it, and the way that I've heard him talk, he would be into it and I would be into it too."

He added that while the interest is there, the story would have to be just right to warrant a Drake & Josh reunion.

"It's gotta be something really cool," he explained. "It can't just be like, 'The College Years,' or 'Where are Drake Parker and Josh Nichols now?' It's gotta be something special that can live on and be able to go on, not just like an hour special or something."

"If all our schedules work out and we got a great idea, which a lot of the stuff that's floating around is, I think we would absolutely do it."
