- Best Actor in a Musical – Ethan Slater (as SpongeBob SquarePants)
- Best Director of a Musical – Tina Landau*

The winners of the 68th Annual Outer Critics Circle Awards were announced today, Monday, May 7th, and the organization's annual Gala Awards Dinner and presentation of awards to the winners will be held on Thursday 24th May 2018 from 3PM at the legendary Sardi’s Restaurant.
Broadway awards season is just ramping up – SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical - the most nominated Broadway show during the 2017-2018 theater season - is still eligible for multiple honors from the Drama Desk Awards, which will announce its winners on Sunday 3rd June 2018, and the Tony Awards, which will air live on CBS on Sunday 10th June 2018.
