There’ll be plenty of lemonade at this year’s Nickelodeon’s 2018 Kids' Choice Awards. Billboard has learned N.E.R.D. (aka Pharrell Williams and Shay Haley) will be performing “Lemon” at Nickelodeon's annual slimefest! The duo recently closed out the iHeartRadio Music Awards with the song.
N.E.R.D. is no stranger to Nickelodeon, releasing the hit song "Squeeze Me" for the soundtrack for Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Animation's hit SpongeBob SquarePants movie, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water in 2015.
Additionally, Nickelodeon have confirmed Common, Yara Shahidi and Hailee Steinfeld as presenters for the awards, which will air live on Saturday March 24th at 8 P.M. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon USA and YTV in Canada, and on Nickelodeon channels around the world within hours of the live show!
Nick also added two new categories - Favorite Instagram Pet and Favorite Dance Trend. The nominees for Favorite Instagram Pet are itsDougthePug
Jiffpom; Juniperfoxx; Nala_Cat; Realdiddykong; and RealGrumpyCat, and the nominees for Favorite Dance Trend are the Backpack Kid, inspired by Russell Horning’s SNL-famous flossing moves alongside Katy Perry while she performed “Swish Swish”; the Lemon, as in the N.E.R.D. “Lemon” challenge; the Milly Rock, as performed by Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard; Ayo & Teo’s the Rolex; the BlocBoy JB-inspired the Shoot Dance; and the Stir Fry, inspired by Migos’ tasty single.
