'Catscratch' Pitch Animation by Doug TenNapel | Nickelodeon [Updated With Rare Thumbnail Animation]
Doug TenNapel, the creator of Nickelodeon's popular noughties animated series Catscratch, has unveiled a PAWsome video featuring the first short he produced to pitch Catscratch as a new animated series to Nickelodeon! Mike Dietz helped Doug with the animation and the music was by Mike Glendenning.
Update (6/10): Doug TenNapel has also unveiled a second PAW-tastic video, featuring a rare thumbnail animation of Nickelodeon’s Catscratch pitch! Doug also shares a tidbit of information about the video in it's description: "I did these thumbnails and slammed them together just to test the character personalities with Rob Paulsen's voice":
Catscratch follows Mr. Blik (Wayne Knight, Tak & the Power of Juju, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, The Penguins of Madagascar, Seinfeld, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Hot in Cleveland), Gordon (Rob Paulsen, The Fairly OddParents, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Planet Sheen, Robot and Monster, Big Time Rush, Random! Cartoons, Back at the Barnyard, Jimmy Neutron, ChalkZone) and Waffle (Kevin McDonald, Back at the Barnyard, Invader ZIM, Angry Beavers, The Penguins of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda: Legends), three feline brothers who, when their wealthy owner Edna Cramdilly passes away, inherit's her riches, along with a menacing, oversized monster truck named Gear and a dignified butler named Hovis (Maurice LaMarche, Hey Arnold!, Futurama). Each episode chronicles their wealthy lifestyles and action-packed, sometimes paranormal, experiences. Other characters in the series include the sweet young neighbor girl, Kimberly (Liliana Mumy, The Loud House, Barnyard, Winx Club), with whom Gordon is obsessed, and the cats' competitive rivals the Chumpy Chump Brothers.
Based on Doug TenNapel's (Earthworm Jim) graphic novel Gear, Catscratch premiered on Nickelodeon USA on July 9th, 2005 and ran for 20 episodes over one season.
