Nickelodeon Animation recently visited the School of Visual Arts in New York to give students a master class on the networks brand-new animated preschool series, Butterbean’s Cafe, and how to break into the Animation industry! The presentation featured two speakers from Nickelodeon Animation, who shared their insights: Ariel Goldberg oversees Nickelodeon Animation’s Recruitment efforts, and is responsible for hiring the studio’s 2D/3D artists, writers, directors, editors, and production crews. Goldberg discussed the best practices for putting together resumes, portfolios, and demo reels, how to make a successful impression in interviews and email correspondence, and how to network with industry professionals; and Mark Salisbury, the multiple Emmy award winning Director at Nickelodeon Animation Studios. He is currently the supervising director for Butterbean’s Cafe, set to debut on Nickelodeon in 2018. In 2016, he finished up his work as the series director, storyboard supervisor and editor on Nickelodeon's multiple Emmy and Annie award winning CG-animated preschool series Bubble Guppies. The presentation was structured as a giant Q&A, allowing students to ask the experts on how to break into the animation industry. Check out Nickelodeon Animation's Recruiting Presentation below!:
