The one millionth attendee to KFC BBL|07 was celebrated in typical Nickelodeon fashion!
Australia - Fans have flocked to KFC BBL|07 for the big hits, big wickets and big entertainment the competition offers, but one lucky family at tonight’s Brisbane Heat match against the Hobart Hurricanes at the Gabba received an extra special Big Bash experience, as a member of their family became the one millionth fan to attend BBL this season!
The Walker family were greeted with fanfare as they came through the turnstiles, with Heat player Joe Burns and Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles waiting to surprise them and help celebrate the milestone in style. The Walker family not only received a Big Bash golden ticket, entitling the family tickets to any match of their choosing next BBL season, millionth fan Milla was treated to a iconic Nickelodeon sliming at the match, an honour Nickelodeon only bestows upon those who deserve it most!
The fun-filled celebrations at match for the one millionth fan reflect the fun and excitement that has attracted fans of all ages to the KFC BBL again this season and made it a major part of the Australian summer, according to Cricket Australia’s Head of Big Bash, Kim McConnie:
“It was amazing to surprise our one millionth fan of BBL|07 with a fun-filled Big Bash welcome and we are excited to have had more than one million people come and enjoy the BBL action for a third consecutive year.
“The strong attendances we have seen this season demonstrate the enthusiasm people all around the country continue to have for the Big Bash and the fun and entertainment it delivers throughout the summer, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has come along and been a part of the fun this season.”
The crowd of 34,543 at the Gabba tonight means a total of 1,013,761 fans have attended the regular season of KFC BBL|07, with strong attendances at the finals series set to push the season attendance to record highs.
Following the success of BBL|06, Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand recently renewed their exciting, family-friendly partnership with the KFC Big Bash League (BBL). The new one-year deal ensures that Nickelodeon continues to work closely with Cricket Australia to further strengthen the KFC BBL’s position as one of the best family entertainment options in the country this Summer. The partnership will see the roll-out of a range of new and exciting at-match activities, digital promotions and more throughout the upcoming Big Bash season.
For the second year running, Nickelodeon will also be working with CA to bring slime covered fun to the KFC BBL and Rebel WBBL through children’s television show Crash the Bash. Hosted by former professional cricket player and Australian Survivor finalist, Lee Carseldine alongside kid-favourite Kristy Best, the series is jam-packed with fun stunts, pranks and jokes as Nickelodeon goes behind the scenes of the BBL and WBBL this summer.
