Each episode of Nick News will give viewers the latest news and gossip about Nickelodeon events, such as the Kids' Choice Awards and Nick Fest, and share curious craft ideas, delicious recipes that the whole family can join in with, and tips and tricks on how to celebrate special days, such as Christmas and Halloween, plus will reveal the best leisure ideas for kids!

Nickelodeon Iberia treats viewers to a spooky stop-motion special with the premiere of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom, on Tuesday 31st October 2017, as part of a spooktacular two-hour marathon of the most terrifying episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, airing at 6:30pm on Nickelodeon Portugal and at 7:30pm on Nickelodeon Spain (España)! The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom tells the story of the Flying Dutchman coming to Bikini Bottom to make sure everyone in town is scared--especially SpongeBob, who seems to be unflappable in his belief that spooky things are actually funny. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom will be locally titled Bob Esponja: La leyenda del Fantasma de Fondo de Bikini in Spain and SpongeBob: A Lenda de Boo-Kini Bottom in Portugal.

Inspired by the visual style of classic stop-motion animation TV specials, Bikini Bottom is decked out for Halloween and features Sandy's treedome as a mad scientist's lab, including a giant remotely operated Acorn Monster; Mr. Krabs' restaurant as "The Horrors of the Chum Bucket," displaying scenes of Plankton torturing food; and Plankton's restaurant as "The Horrors of the Krusty Krab," telling the story of Mr. Krabs turning customers into Krabby Patties and more.
The characters wear Halloween costumes, with SpongeBob as a flower, Patrick as a knight, Sandy as a mad scientist, Mr. Krabs as a dollar bill, Plankton as a devil, Squidward as himself, and Karen as a cat. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom features an original song, "The Scare Song," written by Mr. Lawrence, music by Eban Schletter and performed by the Flying Dutchman's crew of pirate ghosts.
The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom was produced at Screen Novelties, a Los Angeles-based stop-motion animation production company, where miniature puppets and sets brought Bikini Bottom to life in three dimensions. The production featured 27 unique sets, across five stages, where 15 boxes of breakfast cereal were used to create texture on Bikini Bottom's coral reefs; eight pounds of glitter were used to decorate SpongeBob's Halloween pineapple house; hundreds of popsicle sticks created the planks of the rollercoaster track that Patrick and SpongeBob ride; and "black lights" were used to create a fluorescent glow across the puppets and sets.
The special features various production techniques including: stop-motion puppet animation, marionette puppeteering, hand puppets and 2D hand-drawn animation designed by Sally Cruikshank.
Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller are co-executive producers on SpongeBob SquarePants. The special was written by Mr. Lawrence, with Brian Morante serving as the storyboard director and Jennie Monica as producer. The special is being directed by Mark Caballero and Seamus Walsh, and produced by Chris Finnegan of Screen Novelties.
This is the second time Nickelodeon has partnered with Screen Novelties on a SpongeBob SquarePants stop-motion episode. SpongeBob SquarePants: It's a SpongeBob Christmas! debuted December 2012 and featured Plankton turning everybody in Bikini Bottom from nice to naughty.

NPD has declared the Spin Master and Nickelodeon property the hottest toy property of last month as Sea Patrol continues to hit sales high notes!
PAW Patrol has been named the number one toy property in the UK for the month of September, according to the latest NPD results (NPD EPoS September 2017)!
Global toymaker and children’s entertainment company, Spin Master is celebrating another PAWsome month of success for the hit preschool property that follows the July launch of the new Sea Patrol range of toys.
A 22-minute special episode premiered on Nick Jr. UK on Monday 4th September 2017, kicking off season four’s new "Sea Patrol" theme, that featured the Sea Patroller for the first time.
As well as the Sea Patrol Transforming Vehicle, which features with lights and sounds, the Sea Patrol toy range also includes new Sea Patrol Vehicles and Light Up Pups so kids can recreate the Paw Patrol’s underwater adventures at home.
Phil Hooper, Spin Master’s UK commercial director of marketing, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that PAW Patrol was the top toy property in September. Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie takes the kids on the field trip of a lifetime: action packed and full of adventure! It all starts when Arnold and his classmates take a trip to San Lorenzo, South America, which, coincidentally, is the last place Arnold’s parents were seen! Their trip takes a turn when pirates kidnap Arnold and his friends! From there it’s one jungle hazard after another, and the gang must put their heads together to get out of danger. As the leader of the journey, Arnold must make sure he and his friends survive safely, all while working towards a reunion he’s dreamt of his whole life!

Viacom Inc. and Charter Communications have agreed to a “short-term” extension of their carriage negotiations while the two sides continue to negotiate terms of renewal to a deal that will enable some 16.6 million customers to keep watching Viacom’s cable networks, including Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nicktoons, MTV, and Comedy Central.
The existing long-term deal was due to expire Sunday, October 15, and had spurred a dispute between Viacom and Charter.
As early as last Wednesday (October 11), Viacom had warned that it was unable to reach a deal with Charter. The media company began running ads on Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and BET, featuring talent for each network warning viewers of the possible disruption in service and urging them to call Spectrum, and crawls at the bottom of the screen on some networks, urging viewers to pressure Charter to keep Viacom. It also launched a website, called keepviacom.com, and enlisted celebrities like Trevor Noah, host of The Daily Show on its Comedy Central, to tweet about the situation.
Meanwhile, Charter launched a microsite, suggesting that Viacom is overpaid. The site reportedly said that Viacom’s “business is suffering and they are trying to boost their bottom line at the expense of you, our customer,” and that the company “has been overpaid for their channels over the recent year.” A Charter spokesperson could not be reached for immediate comment.
Following reports that the two sides continued talks Sunday night beyond the 7 pm deadline, a spokesman from Viacom issued a short statement explaining “Viacom has agreed to a short term extension of our renewal deadline with Charter while we work to reach a mutually beneficial deal.” The extension has succeeded in avoiding an immediate blackout of Viacom networks for Charter subscribers.
Without a deal, both sides stand to lose. Charter’s 16.6 million subscribers would lose access to Viacom’s networks, including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and MTV. Meanwhile, Viacom could lose $760 million or 16% of its annual affiliate revenue, reports Reuters.
The impasse follows a recent dispute between Disney and Altice, which acquired Cablevision and now operates the Optimum cable service. Those parties had clashed primarily over sports rights, whereas the issue with Charter and Viacom is the decision last spring by Charter to remove bedrock Viacom channels like MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central from basic service on Spectrum and put them on a higher-priced tier. Along with that move, it rolled out a skinny bundle that features no sports -and no Viacom. Bob Bakish, who became Viacom CEO in 2016, has publicly admonished Charter for the moves, which comes as he sets a new overall strategic course for the company.
