Summers will present the film in person across the USA in select venues, with many of those appearances coupled with an array of singular events, including performances by local bands, Q&As with special guests, celebrity hosts, interactive “Double Dare” style games, and various star singers. Stars Neil Patrick Harris, Ryan Seacrest, and Guy Fieri make special guest appearances in the film.

During a remarkable career in show business, Marc Summers has hosted, or co-hosted, over 25 television series, having appeared on everything from ABC to Nickelodeon, CBS to Food Network, and Lifetime to FOX. During a multi-faceted career, Summers concurrently became a pop-culture icon, most notably tied into his longtime gig as the host of the hugely popular Nickelodeon TV series “Double Dare.” He also served as the host of Food Network’s long-running “Unwrapped.” In addition, Summers established himself as a producer of popular and successful reality TV series, as well as a businessman, author of a self-help book, and a stand-up comic. He was also the producer of two additional, long-running Food Network shows, “Dinner: Impossible” and “Restaurant: Impossible.”

In 2016, “The Life and Slimes of Marc Summers” marked the debut of Summers’ first-ever one man show. The play was co-written by Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman, who is currently starring in “School of Rock: The Musical” on Broadway in the lead role, and by rising Broadway star Drew Gasparini.

“On Your Marc,” directed by Mathew Klickstein, is a feature length documentary film in which Summers, an Indiana native, looks back on his life and “slimes”—a clever reference to the slimy green goo that became an iconic feature of “Double Dare,” which Summers hosted for eight years (1986 – 1994). The documentary combines a scrappy, “anything goes” appeal with an informative look at the nature of celebrity. Along the way, Summers reveals how he survived cancer, a recent, near-fatal car crash, and a crippling case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).


Regarding “On the Marc,” Summers said, “I began my career as a professional magician and as a stand-up comic, with grandiose dreams of one day hosting ‘The Tonight Show.’ But that never happened. They always say you should have a Plan B at the ready – when I went to audition for ‘Double Dare’ I was on Plan R! I woke up one day, and suddenly realized I was hosting a kids game show! But in my head, I was hosting ‘Jeopardy,’ and the contestants just happened to be a little smaller.”

He adds, “I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been successful on television, as well as in other areas of the entertainment world. I greatly enjoyed appearing on-stage before live audiences during the run of ‘Life and Slimes’ – it’s what I’ve always enjoyed doing the most. And with a tip of my hat and a wink of the eye to the countless TV game shows I’ve appeared on, I truly hope that viewers who see ‘On Your Marc’ will get a sense of the joy and excitement that was behind every move I ever made, both within the entertainment industry and in real life.”

THE GENESIS OF “THE LIFE AND SLIMES OF MARC SUMMERS”
In 2012, Marc Summers decided to “tip his toes back into the waters” of acting in live theatre, and performed for a short time in the role of “Vince Fontaine” in a Long Beach Island (NJ) production of “Grease.” During the show’s run, Marc became good friends with fellow co-star Drew Gasparini, who in turn introduced him to Alex Brightman (now starring in “School of Rock: The Musical” on Broadway.)

The three men became close friends, and for the next two years, Gasparini and Brightman would meet with Marc Summers for countless meals, during which time they would tape record his reminiscences from throughout his life. Marc revealed to them both the funny, offbeat and fortuitous circumstances behind his successful TV career, as well as many deeply personal issues which he’s had to overcome during the past several years.

Following the success of Gasparini/Brightman’s co-written play “Make Me Bad,” which had been performed in Bloomington, IN, Producing Artistic Director Chad Rabinovitz learned that the two men were working with Marc Summers. Rabinovitz bought the proposed new collaborative play from Summers/Gasparini/Brightman sight unseen. Thus, “The Life and Slimes of Marc Summers” was conceived. The new play was first presented on April Fools Day - April 1, 2016 - in Bloomington, IN, at the Bloomington Playwrights Project.

About MARC SUMMERS
In the history of the television medium, very few people can lay claim to having hosted over two dozen TV shows. Marc Summers, truly an entertainment industry "Renaissance Man", can state that lofty achievement as fact. TV shows hosted or co-hosted by Marc have criss-crossed both broadcast and cable TV networks - he's appeared on everything from ABC to Nickelodeon, from CBS to Food Network, and from Lifetime to FOX.

In 2015, Marc served as Executive Producer of a special TV show about sharks for Discovery Network’s “Shark Week.” The show, shot in Cuba, marked the first time in over 50 years that American and Cuban scientists worked on a joint project together. In 2014, Marc celebrated a major career landmark: His 25th television series, "Rewrapped," made its debut on Food Network. Marc appeared on every episode of the new series as the show's Head Judge during that show’s two season run.

In addition to his prominence in front of the camera, Marc Summers has also been successful in his career as a stand-up comedian, an author, and an executive producer. His company, Marc Summers Productions, was responsible for producing two very popular series on Food Network: "Dinner: Impossible," and "Restaurant: Impossible." Both shows were hosted by internationally renowned Chef Robert Irvine.

A native of Indianapolis, Marc moved to Los Angeles during the golden era of stand-up comedy. Appearing at such LA landmarks as The Comedy Store and The Improv, he stood shoulder to shoulder during his stand up years, sharing stages with such future legends as David Letterman, Jay Leno and Robin Williams.

His popularity on the comedy circuit would lead him to his next pursuit: hosting a TV game show. Marc credits TV personality Bob Barker and “The Price is Right” for helping establish this new career direction. During the early 1980s, March was a much in-demand “warm up” comic, performing his material in front of live studio audiences prior to tapings of sitcoms and talk shows including “Hour Magazine,” “What’s Happening Now,” “Webster,” “Star Search,” “Alice,” and “SOAP.”

Marc’s career shot into high gear in 1986, when Nickelodeon hired him as the host of “Double Dare.” That show became so successful, it helped firmly establish both Marc as a popular TV personality, as well as the newly formed network itself. “Double Dare” was syndicated within two years, and even enjoyed a brief broadcast network run on FOX in primetime, as “Nickelodeon’s Family Double Dare” in 1988.

Concurrent with, and following, the tremendous run of “Double Dare,” Marc became a familiar presence on the TV screen with countless celebrity guest appearances on such shows as “Scrabble,” “”Super Password,” “Lingo,” “Win, Lose or Draw,” and “The Hollywood Squares,” and later, ‘Couch Potatoes,” “What Would You Do?” and ABC’s “Home Show,” to name only some.

Marc was also the longtime host of Food Network's "Unwrapped," the longest running series in the history of that channel. "Unwrapped," which also ran on Cooking Channel, was a program that each week uncovers behind-the-scenes details on classic American food, from peanut butter and chocolate syrup to French fries and bubblegum. "Unwrapped" enjoyed a very successful 15-year run.

In recent years, Marc has firmly established himself as something of an icon within American pop culture: He's appeared in a music video by the band Good Charlotte for their song "Last Night," which used "Family Double Dare" as the motif for the video; as a voice over actor, he has played himself on "The Cleveland Show," "Robot Chicken," and "Sanjay & Craig," and continues appearing on such popular talk shows as "The View," "The Chew," the "Howard Stern Radio Show," and many others.

Marc Summers Productions is based in Philadelphia and Los Angeles -- Marc regularly splits his time between those two cities. He is on the Board of Directors of Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a charity which fights against childhood cancer. He and his wife, Alice, have two children: Matthew, who is the Executive Producer of Food Network’s popular “Cutthroat Kitchen” series, and Meredith, who tours the U.S. as a singer and performance artist, as well as a Grandson.

Nickelodeon Germany Launches "Lumi & Bo"; First Self-Produced Animated Series

Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) has announced the launch of Lumi & Bo, a brand-new locally produced CG-animated series, and Nickelodeon Deutschland's first-ever self-produced animated series!


Launched on Tuesday 3rd October 2017 Lumi & Bo follows the adventures of Lumi and Bo, two best friends who see and experience the big world as a great playground. At every corner, there is something new for the pair to discover and try out.

Bo is big, orange and fluffy monster who is always patient and never strict and is like a big sibling Lumi, Bo's biggest human fan who wants to be like Bo so much, has even got a Bo costume! Lumi and Bo always see eye-to-eye and are always willing to help their friends reach their goals. The pair of unlikely best friends are united by their great big hearts and unconditional friendship. The series features a curriculum that focuses on social skills, friendship, problem solving and teamwork.

Lumi & Bo features two types of episodes, ranging from from 30 seconds to approximately 3.5 minutes. The shorter episodes featuring a mime-like story. In the longer adventures, the action and humour of the story is supported by a narrator, Bürger Lars Dietrich. Bürger Lars Dietrich is no stranger to Nickelodeon. Prior to Lumi & Bo, Dietrich co-presented Nickelodeon Deutschland's magazine series Alles Nick! (Everything Nick!) between 2006-2008. Dietrich also provides the rap segments in the sons featured in the series.

In accompanying clips to the series, real children move through Lumi & Bo's world and encourage the audience to take part and sing-along.

Lumi & Bo is produced by Nickelodeon Deutschland and Hahn-Film. Steffen Kottkamp, Brand Director Kids & Family, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) and Nina Paysen, Manager Production and Development, Viacom International Media Networks are in charge of production for Nickelodeon.

Oktober 2017Lumi & Bo heißt die erste animierte Eigenproduktion des deutschen Kindersenders Nick, der viele weltweit bekannte Animations-Hits wie SpongeBob Schwammkopf, Die Pinguine aus Madagaskar oder Loudhouse beheimatet. Die CGI-animierten Clips werden seit dem 3. Oktober täglich im morgendlichen Vorschulprogramm von Nick Jr. ausgestrahlt.

Die neuen Nick Jr.-Figuren „Lumi und Bo“ sind ein starkes Team. Sie sehen und erleben die Welt als einen großen Spielplatz. An jeder Ecke gibt es etwas zu entdecken und auszuprobieren. Bo - groß, orange und flauschig - passt dabei wie ein großes Geschwisterchen auf Lumi auf, ist immer geduldig und niemals streng. Und Lumi? Lumi möchte so sein wie Bo – das ist unmissverständlich am fantasievollen „Bo“-Wuschelkostüm zu erkennen. Doch die beiden sind stets auf Augenhöhe: Mal verhilft Bos Kraft den Freunden, ihr Ziel zu erreichen, dann wiederum Lumis Geschicklichkeit. Die Geschichten haben eine Länge von ca. 30 Sekunden bis 3,5 Minuten. Die kürzeren Clips haben einen pantomimischen Charakter. In den längeren Abenteuern werden Handlung und Humor zusätzlich von einem Erzähler gestützt. Diese Rolle übernimmt dabei kein Geringerer als Bürger Lars Dietrich, der schon in der Vergangenheit bei Nick moderiert hat. Er übernimmt außerdem den Rap-Part in den „Lumi & Bo“-Songs. In den dazugehörigen Clips bewegen sich echte Kinder durch die Lumi & Bo – Welt und animieren die Zuschauer zum Mittanzen und Mitsingen.

„Lumi & Bo“ ist eine Co-Produktion von Nickelodeon und Hahn-Film. Redaktionell betreut wird das Format senderseitig von Steffen Kottkamp und Nina Paysen.

PAW Patrol Live! “Race To The Rescue” To Delight Fans In Russia During The New Year Holidays

Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) Russia has announced the PAWsome news that PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue”, the hugely popular live stage show based on Nickelodeon's hit preschool series PAW Patrol, will be visiting Russia for the first time ever during the New Year holidays when it stops by Конгресс-центр in Moscow!


PAW Patrol Live! "Race to the Rescue" is an action packed, high-energy adventure featuring up-tempo show music that is set around the day of the Great Race between Adventure Bay's Mayor Goodway and Foggy Bottom's Mayor Humdinger, but with the race about to begin, Mayor Goodway is nowhere to be found. Ryder summons Marshall, Chase, Skye, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, and the newest pup, Everest, to rescue Mayor Goodway and to run the race in her place.


The performance features up-tempo music and a brand new cleverly written script that is a good introduction to live theater for kids. Classic theatrical scenery along with a high-tech video wall visually transports families to an authentic PAW Patrol environment, including locations from the TV series, like Adventure Bay, The Lookout, Seal Island, Farmer Yumi’s farm and Jake’s Mountain. Special interactive video allows the audience to participate via interviews, solve clues with the Pups, follow Mayor Goodway and much more. During the show, guests have the opportunity to participate in the adventure and become a part of the PAW Patrol Cheer Team.

The 70 minute show incorporates an innovative costume approach to help bring the pups to life on stage as well as their vehicles and Pup Packs during the all important rescue mission. Using Bunraku, puppetry elements are built into costumes worn by performers to create life-size pups that wag their tails, blink their eyes, move their mouths and engage the audience throughout their adventure. The costume design brings a fun, realistic parallel between the animated series and the live show.


Prior to each performance, fans can get ready for the show by playing the PAWsome PAW Patrol play area located in the foyer.

Fans visiting the puppies on New Years Eve (Sunday 31st December 2017) will also be able to visit Santa Claus, and receive a special gift backpack full of New Years sweets following the performance! Yum!

Performances of PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue” will run at Конгресс-центр in Moscow between Saturday 23rd December 2017 and Monday 8th January 2017. Tickets are available at ticketland.ru.

Additionally, Nickelodeon Russia (Россия) has announced the further exciting news that Nick Jr. Россия will be hosting a special PAW Patrol "Maritime Marathon" on Saturday 7th October 2017 from 22:00 MCK and on Sunday 8th October 2017 from 10:00 MCK, featuring maritime-themed episodes of Nickelodeon's hit preschool series. The marathon will conclude on Sunday 8th October 2017 with the premiere of the brand-new PAW Patrol "Sea Patrol" special "Pups Save a Baby Octopus", in which the Sea Patrol must save the day when a baby octopus gets separated from its mother and sinks the Flounder!

Dark Horse and Nickelodeon have announced that Faith Erin Hicks (The Adventures of Superhero Girl, The Last of Us: American Dreams) and Peter Wartman (Stonebreaker, Over the Wall) are the new creative team for the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender graphic novel series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of my favorite things in the world. I'm totally not kidding: I remember watching the series finale over ten years ago when I was a struggling animator, wishing I could work on a show that was even ten percent as thoughtful and compelling as Avatar. I was so in love with the world and characters,” mused Faith Erin Hicks. “Even now, there's nothing that has filled my heart quite like Avatar, and I'm so honored to contribute to the real thing.

”Hicks and Wartman will collaborate with the Avatar: The Last Airbender television series executive producers and co-creators, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, on the next three-part graphic novel series in Dark Horse’s publishing program. Hicks’s first venture into the Dark Horse Avatarverse was a 10-page story starring Sokka and Suki for Dark Horse’s 2014 Free Comic Book Day.

“Bryan and I are really looking forward to what Faith and Peter will bring to this series,” said DiMartino. “Gene and Gurihiru had an immeasurable impact on the series, and we were happy to collaborate with them for so long. I think fans will be pleased with what Faith and Peter have to offer!”

The previous creative team of Gurihiru and Eisner and award-winning writer Gene Luen Yang has led the Avatar graphic novel series to longtime New York Times bestseller status and continued to build on the world of the Nickelodeon animated series.

The next volume of Avatar: The Last Airbender will be available in fall 2018.

Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con has announced the magical news that Melissa Joan Hart will be bringing the cast of her long time hit TV show Sabrina, The Teenage Witch to L.A. Comic Con 2017 for a must-see cast reunion and signing (pre-order autographs here!) on Saturday, October 28th!

Melissa is bringing Beth Broderick (Aunt Zelda), Nate Richert (Harvey Kinkle), Nick Bakay (voice of Salem Saberhagen the Cat in Sabrina, Norbert in Angry Beavers), Alimi Ballard (Quizmaster Albert), and of course her college roommates Morgan and Roxie - Clueless star Elisa Donovan and Punky Brewster herself Soleil Moon Frye. Soleil will also be bringing her toy company, Seedling/MoonFrye, who will be a vendor all weekend long!

Nickelodeon USA Digitally Premieres Episode From Upcoming Preschool Series "Top Wing"

To celebrate Nickelodeon USA starting to premiere and show Top Wing very soon, Nickelodeon has digitally premiered the first episode of Nick's brand-new animated preschool series, "Time to Earn Our Wings" on NickJr.com and the Nick Jr. App!


In Top Wing, viewers are invited to join best friends Swift, Rod, Brody, and Penny for high-soaring adventures! At Top Wing Academy, this team of eager young Birds will try to earn their wings while helping others in their community. Together, each cadet will learn how to use their special skills to persevere through any problem.


In the series premiere, "Time to Earn Our Wings" (#101), the brand new Top Wing cadets gather at Top Wing Academy where they will learn to pilot their vehicles and become the best rescue team on Big Swirl Island! Parents and children can watch the first episode of Top Wing, as well as find out more information about the series and watch the official Top Wing theme song now at NickJr.com and on the Nick Jr. App.


Co-produced by Nickelodeon and Toronto, Ontario-based production company 9 Story Media Group, Top Wing (52 x 11 minute episodes) teaches preschoolers the importance of teamwork and models successful problem solving. The concept was created by Matthew Fernandes of the Industrial Brothers (Yup Yups, Gummandos). Top Wing is executive produced by Scott Kraft (The Fresh Beat Band, PAW Patrol).

Nickelodeon has secured exclusive rights to the series for its channels worldwide, excluding Canada.

Top Wing is part of Nickelodeon's commitment to increasing the networks roster of preschool programming. The series will join establish hits such as PAW Patrol, Nella the Princess Knight, Rusty Rivets, and the recently launched Sunny Day, and will be joined by upcoming preschool series Abby Hatcher, and Butterbean's Cafe soon.
