The Groundlings presents Inaugural DIVERSITY FESTIVAL, 7/29 & 30The Groundlings Theatre and School is proud to present its inaugural Diversity Festival on Saturday, July 29th and Sunday, July 30th celebrating and exploring diversity and inclusion. The weekend, co-sponsored by NBC and Nickelodeon, will include a series of panels and performances that will be free and open to the public. The festival will also host several diversity-related workshops exploring such topics as Embracing Your Diversity, Women of Color, Creating Diverse Characters, Queer-Prov and Teen Diversity. These two-hour workshops are $10 and registration will be open to the public.
The Diversity Festival comes just a year and a half after The Groundlings Theatre and School launched its diversity initiatives which includes outreach workshops with local colleges and high schools, as well as a scholarship program that has awarded over $50,000 in Groundlings School credit to 143 students.
The festival also comes one year after The Groundlings partnered with NBC's Talent Infusion Programs (NBC TIPS), the network's long-standing diversity and inclusion initiatives for onscreen and behind-the-scenes talent, to create the NBC/Groundlings Writing Lab Scholarship. NBC provides full-tuition scholarships to The Groundlings Upper Division Writing Lab to students of diverse backgrounds. A selection of the scholarship recipients will perform throughout the weekend.

Nickelodeon will support the youth portion of the program sponsoring the improv training for a select group of kids invited to perform at the festival. Nickelodeon and The Groundlings have partnered for the past seven years to help nurture the development of young talent. For nearly 20 years, Nickelodeon has cultivated a new generation of diverse and creative talent through its unique and innovative outreach programs including, the Animated Short Program, Writing Program, Artist Program and Artist Collective. These hands-on programs were designed to provide innovative, inspiring, and educational opportunities for creative and diverse new talent.
East West Players, The Gale, Groundlings alumni and special guests will also perform and participate in panels.
Attendees will also be invited to join the additional festivities taking place throughout the weekend including Los Angeles' favorite food trucks (Del Solar Tacos, Dogtown Dogs, Marcel's Waffles and Mister Softee), Groundlings giveaways, free swag and more!

Nickelodeon Russia (Россия) became the first international Nickelodeon channel to launch Nickelodeon's all-new brand refresh, featuring a design that fully reflects the role of play and imagination in kids lives, and features a array of kids interacting with the real world and Nick’s beloved characters in surprising and surreal mixes of live-action and graphics.
The beginning of summer was marked by Nickelodeon Россия by a large-scale brand refresh - Russian viewers are among the first in the world to see their favourite TV channel with a brand-new design. Launched on Thursday 1st June 2017, Nickelodeon Россия rolled out the new creative design on-air and online, including the channels official social media networks.
The motto for Nickelodeon Россия is "Дети - на первом месте!", which fully incorporates with the goal of rebrand. Nickelodeon's new image demonstrates the role of imagination, creativity and play in the lives of children, combining real kids with 2D and 3D graphics to create imaginative reinterpretations of Nickelodeon’s properties and characters as they became real-world playgrounds for kids to bring to life, rearrange and redesign. From turning SpongeBob’s face into a tongue-twisted fun zone, to kids rearranging and rebuilding Lincoln Loud from The Loud House, everything from the overhead and docu-style camera angles to the seamless blend of real-world, tactile and fantastical elements, is designed to drive a visual conversation between the network and its audience. The result is an unusual and often surreal mixture of photo and graphics that kids are sure to love.
The new look consists of almost 300 elements, including bumpers, IDs, fillers, visual effects, graphic developments, and an extensive graphic package for creating promotional videos.
Nickelodeon's latest brand refresh reflects the fact that the channel has become a integral part in the life's of modern children, opening up new opportunities for them to play, create and communicate. Nickelodeon’s classic orange logo will now be set against an updated color palette of bright and cheerful tones, including purple, light blue, lime and cream. Embracing the bold, modern sans-serif type, Galano Grotesque Black, the refresh also uses color to create, contrast and codify the on-air messaging.
Created with global branding and creative agency Superestudio, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Specifically for the Russian version of the channel, the Nickelodeon Россия team conducted a photo shoot to film local children to adapt the global creative materials to the local market.
Nickelodeon Россия's rebranding is taking place against the backdrop of key growth in the Russian television market - The average amount of time TV viewing has grown 5% compared to the same period last year, and amounted to 86 minutes for children of 8-15 years, while for boys' 7-9 years, the time spent watching television has increased to 20%. Nickelodeon Россия continues to be the leader in the amount of time watched by children aged 4-17 among the thematic channels in Russia, included in the measurement of TV Index Plus.

Alex Mack (Larisa Oleynik) is your average teenage girl, simply trying to make it through her transition to junior high school. She stands alongside her mother, father, and older sister in the fictional town of Paradise Valley, CA. After enduring her first day of junior high school, Alex treks home...where she is almost hit by a truck leaving a chemical plant. The incident leaves Alex drenched in a mysterious chemical named GC-161. She soon realizes this substance implemented a strange effect on her: she is overwhelmed with the discovery that she has developed superpowers, with both positive and negative consequences - she must keep her powers under wraps. She gets by with the help of her older sister Annie (Meredith Bishop) and best friend Raymond (Darris Love) to remain under-the-radar, thus where family relationships, comedy, and science fiction come together to greatness.

After enduring her first day of junior high school, Alex treks home...where she is almost hit by a truck leaving a chemical plant. The incident leaves Alex drenched in a mysterious chemical named GC-161. She soon realizes this substance implemented a strange effect on her: she is overwhelmed with the discovery that she has developed superpowers, with both positive and negative consequences - she must keep her powers under wraps. She gets by with the help of her older sister Annie (Meredith Bishop) and best friend Raymond (Darris Love) to remain under-the-radar, thus where family relationships, comedy, and science fiction come together to greatness.

Additionally, Alex Mack, or Larisa Oleynik, has gone forward starring on beloved television series' Boy Meets World and Mad Men, the movies 10 Things I Hate About You and The Baby-Sitters Club, and can currently be seen on stage in the off-Broadway musical Baghdaddy.
The Secret World Of Alex Mack initially aired on Nickelodeon from 1994-1998. Created by Ken Lipman and Tommy Lynch, the series was nominated for eight different Young Artist awards, and had maintained a cult following since leaving the airwaves almost 20 years ago.

NEW YORK–June 7, 2017– Nickelodeon in partnership with (RED) announced the debut of (SPONGEBOB)RED, a collaboration enlisting the iconic character to help raise money for the Global Fund and awareness around the fight to end AIDS. The collaboration will kick off with exclusive (SPONGEBOB)RED designs by Jeremy Scott as a part of the Moschino Resort 2018 collection. Sixteen different items including apparel, swim and handbags for adults and children featuring (SPONGEBOB)RED designs will be available at luxury retailers and Moschino stores in November. The Moschino Resort 2018 collection debuts on the runway on Thursday, June 8, at Milk Studios in Los Angeles and will feature top models dressed in key pieces from the collaboration on the catwalk.
The Nickelodeon and (RED) partnership extends through 2018, and Nickelodeon’s proceeds from all Moschino products will go to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
