Rameet Rauli Talks “Ride”, Journey to India and More | #RideOnNickelodeon | Nickelodeon
Rameet Rauli stars in Nickelodeon’s brand-new live-action daily drama series Ride as Anya Patel, a Princess who attends The Covington Academy for the very first time, and becomes Kit’s roommate and best friend. However, she is determined to keep her status a secret to be a normal student.
Rameet is British, and touring with her dad, she was brought up around music. Therefore her love for the arts came quickly, and she was lucky to pursue this love at The Arts Educational Schools in London, UK. She has also appeared in productions of The Office X-mas Party, and Macbeth and Frankenstein at The Butterfly Theatre Company.
This gal is smart, talented and adorable, and besides traveling, she also takes the time to help those in need.
Check out CelebMix's super interview with Rameet below to learn more about her, and find out what she has done in India!
How do you remember your first acting job?
“It was so much fun. I always loved the theatre and I was blessed to get a part in a production which toured the UK. I just remember laughing so much every day! Especially the part where I had to spit some “rhymes” in a killer rap with my two sidekicks — a Tortoise and a Monkey. And no it wasn’t cool and I don’t remember it. Lol”
Haha! Well, what about your first experience with Horses?
“I always wanted to ride. I remember begging my parents for a Horse when I was little. The first time I faced a Horse I realized how strong they actually were. I tried to feed one and held out a treat for him. He got so excited he nearly knocked me over and I had drool all over me… It was love at first sight!”
Tell us about your character in Ride. Have you learnt anything from Anya?
“Anya is a very positive, optimistic, caring and determined young lady who can be a little naive sometimes. It’s a dream come true to play her. I mean who doesn’t want to play a princess, right? But she doesn’t want the other students to know her secret as she just wants to “fit in.” So she tries to be independent and do everything herself which leads to hilarious outcomes as she’s just not as experienced with “regular” life stuff as the other students. It’s funny because during filming for Ride, it was the first time I lived by myself away from my family. Sometimes I felt like Anya in reality, trying to be a grown-up. I love that she doesn’t give up and keeps trying. There are many tricky situations she faces but her determination is something I really admire. I have learnt that no matter how many times you fall, just keep going!”
Anya has this huge secret, but she actually wants to be a normal girl. Have you ever felt like that?
“Every day! It’s so hard to hold the royal title and school work. Lol. No, I wish I had a secret like Anya’s but I’m just not as cool.”
No, you’re cool, just as the rest of the cast! Who do you have the best relationship with?
“That’s hard! I have a great relationship with them all. We all really clicked and hung out tons off set. I feel blessed that through Ride I have made lifelong friends. I love them all! #RideTribe4Life”
Serious question here: Do you ship Janya?
“I SHIP Janya!! The Janya journey is so adorable. I hope everyone likes them.”
[Fans] totally do! What’s next for them?
“Well, that would be telling. No, I have no idea. I hope loads more, you just have to keep watching.”
Now tell us about your journey to India. How would you describe your experience there?
“India was amazing! I went straight after shooting Ride. Unfortunately, I lost my Grandmother back in the UK during the shoot of Ride, which was really hard for me, and we went to India to scatter her ashes. It was the first time I went where I could appreciate the beauty of India and how incredible it is. I was really young when I went before and it was a bit of a culture shock but I loved it. I got to see some beautiful places and animals and soak up some sun after the Canadian winter. If we get a season 2, I’m hoping Anya gets to visit too.”
You should be really proud of yourself because of the effort you’ve put into helping others. Do you think that many actors should do the same?
“Yes, definitely. I think actors have a great platform to raise awareness and help others. On my recent trip to India, I was fortunate enough to visit an ashram where I witnessed all the amazing work they do to help orphans, the blind and the elderly. I realized how much I take for granted; it was a truly moving experience where I really learnt the importance of giving back. We took little presents for them and they were so grateful. I try and help when I can. I do get updates and love to hear how they are doing. It was very emotional leaving them but I really hope to return and visit them again one day.”
Your father was your biggest influence when it came to arts. Is he still making a big impact on your career?
“Yes! He’s been in the British-Asian music industry for years and I’ve been blessed enough to grow up around music and the arts. I grew up touring the world with his band and have such fond memories. I always knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps. His dedication to his craft inspires me every day. Being an actor is not easy and he has all the best advice for me and cheers me up on hard days.”
It was lovely to talk to you, Rameet. Do you have any message to CelebMix’s readers?
“Thank YOU for speaking with me and for everyone taking the time to read this. I hope everyone enjoys watching Ride. It has been amazing to make the show and now we get to share it with you all. All the love and support has been wonderful and I feel so blessed. Thank you very much. I can’t wait for you all to watch and join our Nick Ride Tribe. Alana Boden Talks "Ride", Animals and Life | #RideOnNickelodeon | Nickelodeon
Alana Boden stars in Nickelodeon’s brand-new live-action daily drama series Ride as Elaine Whiltshire, a high school student with a type-A personality, who will go to any length to get into her dream college. She is not pleased when Kit arrives at The Covington Academy.
Raised in Hampshire, UK, Alana immediately fell in love with the art of acting at a very young age – she was only nine years old. She debuted on television playing in CBBC's Wolfblood, but her credits include Doctors, Humans and Mr. Selfridge. She has since appeared in several short films, such as Class Fiction, Final Hours, Howie and The Earth Belongs to No One, which was so recognized that Alana won the Rising Star Award at the London Short Film Festival.
Alana is a huge fan of animals, which could be the reason why she lives with six Dogs, Four rabbits and two Pigs.
In addition, she is so hard-working and ambitious that you can tell that life has so much more in store for her.
Check out CelebMix's super interview with Alana below to learn more about her, and find out what she fights for!
First off, how would you describe Ride?
Ride is about a group of friends and their lives at The Covington Academy, a prestige equestrian boarding school in England. The story is full of ups and downs of growing up.”
What was your favourite part about filming the show?
“All of it! Working with some really great people, filming at great locations, it was all so amazing!”
How was the jump from filming something like The Earth Belongs to No One to filming Ride?
“It was really interesting. The characters and their situations are different. Elaine doesn’t hold back much when it comes to speaking what’s on her mind. It was a great opportunity to play such contrasting roles.”
Now your character Elaine is a perfectionist, which has both positive and negative effects on every field of life. What are your thoughts about always being the best?
“I was brought up being told you may not always be the best at everything you do in life, but to give it all you’ve got, and if it’s something you love, don’t give up! You can’t beat yourself up if you’ve given it your best shot.”
Is there anything that you’ve always wanted but you still have to fight for?
“Well, being an actor means every role you go for you have to fight for. There are so many wonderful actors out there that competition is tough!”
What is it that motivates you in your life?
“My career. It gets me out of bed every day! Also my family and recently the supportive messages I’ve received from fans of Ride. They really mean the world to me!”
What about negative impacts? How do you deal with them?
“You really have to ignore negativity, as hard as that can be, or turn negatives into positives and use them to empower yourself. Always focus on the positives!”
Do you have a motto?
“Work hard for what you want and never give up!”
Who is your biggest influence and why?
“Natalie Portman. I think she’s amazing! I really admire her as an actress. I just love how diverse she is.”
We’ve heard that you really like animals. As an animal lover, do you get involved with certain charity events?
“I do! My family and I foster Dogs who have come from shelters who really need a place until they find their forever homes. We look after them until they get adopted, which can be hard because it’s so easy to become attached. But it’s so lovely to see them with their new families. I am also planning on doing a fundraising event later this year for a local charity that means a lot to me.”
Wow! What is it that made you love animals so much?
“I don’t know really. I have always just loved them and felt a real connection with them!”
What about Horses?
“I think Horses are absolutely beautiful creatures. We have family friends who had Horses when I was younger and we used to go and spend hours grooming them, mucking out the stalls, stuff like that!”
Going back to acting, you won a Rising Star Award at the London Short Film Festival. Could you tell us what it meant to you?
“It honestly meant the world to me. It made me feel like all the hard work I put into my career was worthwhile!”
How did it motivate you to keep going in your career?
“The feeling that my hard work and dedication had been recognised was incredible and has motivated me to never give up.”
Thank you for taking the time to talk to [CelebMix], Alana. Do you have any message to [their] readers?
“First, thank you all for the positivity and support, it’s always appreciated. And for anyone who has a dream, never give up on it!

Hampton Falls, NH Girl Lends Her Voice To Nickelodeon's "Nella The Princess Knight"
A New Hampshire fourth-grader debuted last week as a recurring character on Nickelodeon's brand-new animated preschool series, Nella the Princess Knight!
Fourth-grader Maya Tanida talks about her acting career, having recently started voicing the character Willow on the Nickelodeon show "Nella the Princess Knight." [Matt Parker/Seacoastonline]
The show follows the adventures of Nella, a princess with traditionally feminine qualities – pretty hair, rides a pink horse – as well as the courage, sword and armor of a knight. Maya Tanida, 10, of Hampton Falls, portrays the character Willow in the series.
Maya and her mother, Jillian, said few details could be revealed about Willow before her characters debut on Friday 10th February 2017. A second episode featuring her character is scheduled to air Tuesday 14th February 2017 on Nickelodeon USA.
Maya told Seacoastonline.com she has enjoyed tackling the voice of Willow and put her own spin on the character, mixing her own qualities with Willow's. "Willow is basically me, just a little different," said Maya.
For Maya, who has been professionally acting since she was 7 years old, landing the role of Willow was a big milestone.
Maya has also appeared on Sesame Street, the Netflix show Jessica Jones, the Sprout Network and two nationally televised commercials.

Maya got the acting bug at age 3 when her family lived in Hawaii. Her mother's friends brought her to a casting call on the Hawaii's north shore, and she got a call back for some modeling gigs.
When Maya's family moved to Hampton Falls three years ago, Jillian met April Nicoll, mother of Seabrook child star Jackson Nicoll. Jackson has appeared in several movies including Bad Grandpa, The Fighter, and the Nickelodeon Movie Fun Size.
April Nicoll told Jillian that Maya had talent and encouraged her to take the next step in pursuing acting roles. It was not long before Maya had a manager and agent.
Asked how many auditions she went to before landing a role, she said, "I can't count." When she finally was picked for a My Little Pony toy commercial, she was ecstatic. She recalled the day her manager called her mother with the news, as well as watching herself on television for the first time.
"I was amazed," said Maya. "I was just really excited and happy, and just mixed emotions about it, but all good."
That one role created momentum for Maya, as she began to receive offers for other jobs. On Jessica Jones, she played a small part named "girl one," a young girl practicing her lines for an audition, much like she does in real life.
"I was just really proud of myself for making it to a commercial, then to a TV show," said Maya.
Maya's next gig was on the network Sprout, which airs children's programming. She was featured in 60-second highlight segments of the network's shows.
It was after that she appeared on Sesame Street, a show she had grown up watching. In the Valentine's Day episode, which will air on PBS Feb. 14, she and another boy sing a song with Elmo and give cards to each other.
Jillian said Maya's success so far is no accident. She preaches to her daughter that preparation combined with luck leads to good opportunities, and Maya said she takes that advice seriously. When she gets a new script, she locks herself in her room until she has it down. Often, Jillian said, Maya asks her mother what else she can work on to be a better performer.
Jillian said she tries to keep Maya's life at home separate from her acting work, which is often in New York. Maya said there have been times when parents have said they recognized her on television, but Jillian said most of Maya's friends at school do not really understand what level Maya has reached or how hard she works.
Whatever happens next for Maya, Jillian said her career in acting has built a foundation for success.
"Her next part of her journey, whatever she experiences after this, it's going to be so beneficial, this experience she's had," said Jillian. "She's not afraid of rejection, she knows how to speak in front of adults and meet people...; I think there's so much that she's gained."
Maya said acting has become her passion and one day she hopes to land a role on a Disney Channel show.
"There's definitely times where it's harder than others, but I never really am like, 'I want to quit,'" said Maya. "I think if I work hard and do my best, that I can definitely do it. I don't have to push too hard. I just have to do my best."

What 5 Years of Rejection Taught This Successful Showrunner | Farnaz Esnaashari-Charmatz | Shimmer And Shine
Farnaz Esnaashari-Charmatz is the creator of Nickelodeon’s Shimmer and Shine, the highest-rated show on the network for preschoolers. She rose through the ranks at Nick, starting as an intern and eventually getting promotions to work on shows like Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go! before she started pitching her own ideas. Check out Farnaz's magical interview with Backstage full of advice for aspiring creators and actors below!:
How did you transition from an animator to a leadership role?
While I was doing my regular job for Nick, I started pitching shows to Nick Jr. in 2009, when I was on maternity leave with my son. Nick Jr. was having casting calls for ideas. I pitched for five years before Shimmer and Shine.
That’s a lot of rejection.
Someone asked me once, “Don’t you wish you got the show 13 ideas ago?” My first reaction was, “No, I had to fail in order to succeed.” Every time I failed I got one step closer to understanding what it meant to succeed. I’m grateful for that rejection, because at least they kept me coming back. Without that, I wouldn’t have gotten to that position.
Did you have an aha moment about why you were being rejected?
It really clicked when—and this is the secret of how to make it happen!—when they would give me notes and I would do exactly [what] their notes [said], and they would still say, “It’s not working.” I would get frustrated at the process, and I could hear their frustration. It was when I realized [I had] to take a step out, not be so precious, not be so married to ideas, to listen to the feedback and criticism, [even if] these aren’t exactly the right solutions to the problem. Say, “Their suggestion may not be the solution, but there is a problem that needs to be addressed.”
What do you look for in the casting process?
I had a sense of who I wanted the girls to be and what I wanted them to exude. It was very important to me that these characters be kids. As a child, watching an animated series, you connect better if you hear a kid who sounds like you rather than adults doing kids’ voices.
Do you have any advice for kids in the audition room?
It feels like sometimes people tell kids to act in a certain way, but you have to be careful. People want to know who you are when you come in to these auditions. They want to know what you’re like and if you listen well. You can walk in the door on the wrong foot because someone told you how to act. Just be a nice person; that goes a long way. Don’t start “acting” right when you walk in.
