Leading French commercial broadcaster TF1 has acquired the French rights to Nickelodeon's new animated preschool series Nella the Princess Knight and the rights to the fourth season of Nickelodeon's hit CG-animated preschool series PAW Patrol for it's Tfou! kids’ programming strand!
Nickelodeon's popular animated preschool series, Nella the Princess Knight, follows Nella, an unconventional 8-year-old who possesses the royal qualities of a princess, like compassion and grace, while also embodying the courage and determination of a brave knight. Whenever a problem arises, Nella embarks on daring quests to save her kingdom through her unique ability to transform from a princess into Nella the Princess Knight. Nella the Princess Knight (40 half-hour episodes) features a social-emotional curriculum promoting self-confidence, inclusiveness and compassion for others.
Nella is a confident 8-year-old princess who likes dancing at extravagant balls just as much as she likes meeting fire-breathing dragons. She transcends traditional roles and expectations through her ability to transform into Nella the Princess Knight, protecting her kingdom with the help of her friends: Trinket, Nella's glamorous unicorn and best friend; Sir Garrett, a loyal and adventurous knight; and Clod, Garrett's trusty steed.
Fans can also download the brand-new Nella the Princess Knight app, "Kingdom Adventures", which features a suite of games based on social-emotional lessons taught in the hit Nick Jr. series Nella the Princess Knight. In the spirit of the show, the game leans on princess-and-knight heroine Nella to inspire girl empowerment, self-confidence, resilience and compassion among players.
“Nella the Princess Knight: Kingdom Adventures” is free to download on the iTunes Store and Google Play in more than 150 international markets in 12 languages: Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, European Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Swedish, British English and Brazilian Portuguese.
PAW Patrol is a CG-animated, action-adventure preschool series starring a pack of eight heroic puppies led by a tech-savvy 10-year-old boy named Ryder. The series' unique blend of problem-solving skills, cool vehicles and cute doggy humor has propelled it to become TV's number-one preschool series. Nickelodeon recently announced the renewal of PAW Patrol for a fifth season, during which the heroic pack of pups – Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Rocky, Zuma, Everest and Tracker – will take to the high seas for Sea Patrol adventures where they'll meet a scallywag of a pirate and his dachshund pup pal. Produced by Spin Master Entertainment, PAW Patrol made its U.S. debut on Nickelodeon in August 2013, and airs on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels worldwide.
In the fourth season of PAW Patrol (26 episodes), the pack of pups—Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, Everest, Tracker and Skye—will be called on to participate in Mission PAW rescues in the kingdom of Barkingburg, located an Air Patroller ride away from Adventure Bay. The heroic pups must save the kingdom from evildoers, including a bad puppy named Sweetie that is scheming to become the queen. The PAW Patrol will also take to the beach for lifeguard duty, diving into daring new aquatic adventures with their new Sea Patroller ship and mini-sub patroller. PAW Patrol features a curriculum that focuses on citizenship, social skills and problem solving.
Tfou! are slated to premiere Nella the Princess Knight and PAW Patrol season four during its Autumn (Fall) 2017 programming season.
In addition to PAW Patrol (Paw Patrol : La Pat'Patrouille), Nella the Princess Knight will join other hit Nickelodeon series such as Rusty Rivets, Dora the Explorer (Dora l'exploratrice), Dora & Friends : Au cœur de la ville, Penguins of Madagascar (Les pingouins de Madagascar), Fresh Beat Band of Spies (Les agents Pop Secrets).
