Eager children and and their parents lined up at Westfield Mount Druitt as early as 6am to get their chance to be slimed.
About 3000 people made their way to the shopping centre to watch the fun and games throughout Sunday, with the event running from 9am to 4pm.
Entertainment included the mannequin challenge, live DJs and all things slime related, which drew a great response from the crowd over the course of the day. Nickelodeon's Heroes in a Half Shell, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, also made an appearance at the slime-tastic event!
For SLIME CUP 2017, Nickelodeon will select 15 teams of superstar besties from two live tryouts (Gold Coast on Sunday 9th April 2017; New South Wales on Sunday 23rd April 2017) and online auditions to compete in the Slime Arena and take on a series of larger-than-life inflatable challenges that will test their stamina, strength and stomachs to determine the final four teams. The finale episode will see these four teams compete on an all-new inflatable obstacle extravaganza to win the ultimate prize, the 2017 Nickelodeon SLIME CUP trophy.
Although both live SLIME CUP 2017 tryouts are now over, kids who think they have got what it takes to be Nickelodeon's next Slime Superstars can submit their best audition video to Nickelodeon online at www.slimecup.com.au up until Tuesday, 25th April 2017!
Hosted by Kristy Best and two U.S. based Nickelodeon stars yet to be announced, SLIME CUP will premiere at 5.30pm on Friday, 30 June 2017 and will feature expanded digital content, including the chance for kids to create their own SLIME CUP course online and opportunities for bespoke integration across multiple platforms.

Following a hugely successful first season, Nickelodeon Australia is bringing back the slime with family-favourite adventure series SLIME CUP!
With crazier challenges, bigger spills, and even more ways for kids to get covered head-to-toe in slime, the six episode series will also feature expanded digital content, including the chance for kids to create their own SLIME CUP course online and opportunities for bespoke integration across multiple platforms.
SLIME CUP achieved great success both on-ground and on-air in 2016. The ratings for the series outperformed channel average by 83% with Grocery Buyers, and 25% of Children 5-12 on STV tuned into SLIME CUP 2016.
Digitally, SLIME CUP achieved almost 100,000 Unique Visitors over the course of the campaign and social impressions across Facebook reached over 3 million.
To be in the show, kids across Australia and New Zealand need to partner up with their sibling or friend and audition to be one of the 15 teams selected to take part in the Slime Arena and battle it out for the ultimate title. SLIME CUP is open to all kids aged 9 – 13 in Australia and New Zealand. To enter, kids can either submit their audition videos online or pre-register to complete a series of challenges at on-ground events.
For the first time ever, Nickelodeon took SLIME CUP to Queensland with live tryouts held last weekend at Sea World on the Gold Coast. Live tryouts will also be returning to NSW (Sunday, 23 April from 9am – 4pm at Westfield Mt Druitt). One of the family highlights of SLIME CUP 2016 was the parents or teachers involvement, where adults were put in the drop zone and covered in ‘stank’ if their team received one of the two slowest times. In 2017 Nickelodeon is bringing back the parents for a whole new messy challenge.

SLIME CUP will be hosted by Kristy Best and a U.S. based Nickelodeon star yet to be announced. Sydney-based Kristy will be front and centre on the sidelines reporting on the slime, the wipe-outs and the wacky challenges kids will face throughout the series.
