Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy has announced the exciting news that Chris Savino, the creator of Nickelodeon's hit animated series The Loud House, and Joe Murray, the creator of the '90s Nickelodeon classic Rocko's Modern Life, and Robert Scull, the creator of Nickelodeon's upcoming brand-new preschool series Butterbean's Cafe, will lead a talk entitled "A Conversation with Nickelodeon Creators Joe Murray and Robert Scull" at the 2017 Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market (MIFA) this June!
In the talk, the two Nickelodeon series creators will discuss their career paths in this Masterclass. Nickelodeon's Joe Murray (Rocko's Modern Life) and Robert Scull (Bubble Guppies) team up to discuss their journeys as show creators, how they bring their visions to life and their prolific careers in animation from the '90s until now. Plus, an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming Rocko's Modern Life TV movie. Moderated by Chris Viscardi (The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Snow Day, Inside-Out Boy, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, Sanjay and Craig), Senior Vice President (SVP), Content Development, Nickelodeon Franchise Properties, the talk will take place on Friday 16th June 2017 between 4:30-5:45 p.m. at Bonlieu Petite Salle.
Every year in June, Annecy in France becomes the capital of animated film for six days. It is an opportunity for professionals and fans to discover new productions from around the world. Since 1960, the city of Annecy in Haute-Savoie has hosted the Festival International du Film d'Animation d'Annecy (Annecy International Animated Film Festival), an event that brings together fans and professionals of the sector. For six days, the city comes alive through screenings held in various venues across the city and on the Pâquier, a vast outdoor promenade along Lake Annecy. Each edition focuses on a different theme.
The festival also enables professionals to meet at the Marché International du Film d’Animation (Mifa, or International Animation Film Market). This three-day event is dedicated to the development of the animation industry to encourage the creation of projects and distribution of works, promote inter-professional exchanges and meetings, close partnerships and co-productions, and also discover the latest trends in the sector.
As part of this years event, Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market will also: host a special screening of the brand-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles short "Strike Hard" on Monday 12th June 2017 between 22:10-22:15 at Le Pâquier. Nina Hahn, SVP, International Production and Development and David Steinberg, Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon Animation Studios will also be speaking at this years Annecy festival, on Thursday 15th June 2017 and on Friday 16th June 2017 between 11:45am - 12:15pm at L'Impérial Palace Haendel B, respectively. Sarah Muller, Head of Children's at Channel 5 / Milkshake will also speak on Thursday 15th June 2017 between 09:30 - 10:00am at L'Impérial Palace Haendel B.
Additionally, Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy has announced the further exciting news that episodes of Nickelodeon's The Loud House, Nickelodeon International's upcoming animated series ToonMarty, and Nick Jr. UK & Ireland's popular animated preschool series Lily's Driftwood Bay and Puffin Rock, have been selected as finalists in Annecy's annual competition!:
